MODULAR, INTEGRATED POWERED AIR PURIFYING RESPIRATOR SYSTEM
20210052921 · 2021-02-25 ·

Disclosed is a modular, low profile PAPR system allowing customized configuration to meet an operator's weight and space requirements. The system includes a blower, a filter rail chassis that is removably attachable to an inlet of the blower, and a hose system that is removably attachable to the outlet of the blower. A battery pack is attachable to the blower in a close, nested configuration abutting both the blower and the filter chassis to maintain the small profile of the system, and may alternatively be carried remote from the blower with a power cord interconnecting the blower with the battery pack. The hose system comprises an ovular outer tube, which ovular shape maintains a generally flat profile for the hose as it extends across or along the operator's body. Two circular air carrying conduits are sealed within such ovular outer tube against outside contamination, thus providing a flat, small profile tube system that resists hoop stress applied to the outside of the hose, provides low resistance against bending, that will not inadvertently kink or seal in low radius turns, and that results in a low profile, non-collapsing hose system for delivering air from a remotely carried blower and filter assembly to the operator's protective mask.

Headgear-type device for hazardous air quality warning and air quality improvement

Disclosed is a headgear-type device for hazardous air quality warning and air quality improvement, wherein the device can collect biometric information of a worker, wired and wireless communications, and information about the quality of outside air around the worker so as to warn the worker of a hazard or improve air quality at the site. The headgear-type device for hazardous air quality warning and air quality improvement according to the present invention may comprise: a headgear-type biometric sensor which comes into close contact with the head of the worker so as to sense biometric information of the worker and thus allow measurements of the worker's physical conditions; a terminal which is wiredly or wirelessly connected to the headgear-type biometric sensor so as to transmit and receive the biometric information; and a server which receives the biometric information from the terminal, calculates, on the basis thereof, whether the biometric information is in a normal condition range, according to a program, and when the biometric information is not in the normal condition range, issues a warning to the worker by transmitting a warning state to the terminal.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF INTEGRATION OF A FIRE HOSE WITH A BREATHABLE AIR SUPPLY SYSTEM
20240001162 · 2024-01-04 ·

A breathable air supply system within a structure includes a fixed piping system permanently installed therewithin serving as a source of breathable air, and an emergency air fill site communicatively coupled to the fixed piping system to port a regulated, pressurized volume of the breathable air out through a first connector thereof. The first connector is connectably complementary to a second connector of a fire hose configured to carry a fire suppression agent through a first channel thereof. The second connector is communicatively coupled to a second channel of the fire hose separate from the first channel and configured to carry the regulated, pressurized volume of the breathable air therethrough to an SCBA of a user. Connection of the first connector to the second connector supplies the regulated, pressurized volume of the breathable air through the second channel to an end of the fire hose couplable to the SCBA.

A snow burial survival mask has an exhaust tube connected to a headgear. An intake port of the exhaust tube is positioned adjacent to a breathing portion of the headgear in order to intake exhaled carbon dioxide (CO2)-rich air. An air pump connected to the exhaust tube pump the exhaled air from the intake port to an exhaust port away from the user's face, extending survival time in a snow burial situation. At least one burial detection sensor such as a motion sensor, light sensor and/or CO2 sensor is configured to activate the air pump based on detection of a burial event.

Breathing gas delivery system
10842960 · 2020-11-24 · ·

A breathing gas delivery system comprising a gas flow controller, at least one breathing apparatus, and at least one first length of tubing coupling the breathing apparatus to the gas flow controller. The gas flow controller has a body having an on/off switch, at least one gas input, at least one gas output, and at least one control mechanism for controlling flow of gas to the gas output. The breathing apparatus comprises a T-shaped gas input, a breathing bag coupled to the T-shaped gas input, a second length of tubing having two opposed ends, wherein one end is coupled to the other arm of the T-shaped gas input, a filter coupled the second length of tubing, and a nasal assembly coupled to the filter.

Breathing tube adapter for a respirator with an internal speaker

An adapter for connecting a breathing tube to a headpiece includes: a housing including a first portion configured to connect to a breathing tube, a second portion configured to connect to a headpiece, and a hollow cavity extending through the first portion and the second portion to define a flow path for breathable air received from the breathing tube to travel through the adapter for delivery to the headpiece; and a speaker configured to emit an audible sound into the flow path. The speaker is positioned within the housing so that, when the adapter is connected to a breathing tube and a headpiece of a respirator system, the speaker is in close proximity to the headpiece to help ensure sound emitted from the speaker is audible to a user wearing the headpiece. The speaker is also positioned outside of the flow path to prevent air flow obstruction within the adapter.
