HYBRID BEAD CORES FOR TIRES

A vehicle tire having two beads comprising metal/non-metal hybrid bead cores intended to come into contact with a wheel rim and a carcass reinforcement anchored by a bead core located in each bead, wherein the bead core includes a plurality of separate spirally-wound reinforcements that are placed adjacent to one another in a substantially axial arrangement. The innermost of the spirally-wound reinforcements, the one farthest from the reinforcement turn-up, is formed of a first metal wire and there is a non-metallic wire forming a second reinforcement. The metal wire has an elongation at break that is at least 40% greater than an elongation at break of the nonmetallic wire or alternatively at least 100% or at least 200% greater than the elongation at break of the non-metallic wire. Optionally wires of other metals or nonmetals may be useful for forming others of the plurality of spirally-wound reinforcements.

Provided is a pneumatic tire which is configured so as to prevent carcass cords from biting into an inner liner, thereby improving the durability performance of the tire. A pneumatic tire (1) is provided with a carcass (6) which comprises, a carcass ply (11) extending from a tread (2) through side walls (3) to the bead cores (5) of bead sections (4), the bead cores (5) each including an inner core (14) and an outer core (15). The carcass, ply (11) is sandwiched between the inner cores (14) and the outer cores (15). Each of an inner core (14) and an outer core (15) includes a bead cord (16) which is wound at least one turn in the circumferential direction of the tire. Each of the bead cords (16) includes an outermost layer (18) formed by twisting filaments (17) together. In at least one bead section, the outermost layer (18) of the bead cord (16) of each of the inner core (14) and the outer core (15) is twisted in the direction which allows the carcass ply (11) to easily move to the outside in the radial direction of the tire from between the inner core (14) and the outer core (15).

Pneumatic tire with bead reinforcing elements at least partially formed from carbon fibers

A pneumatic tire includes an elastomeric casing. The elastomeric casing includes a crown portion, opposing sidewalls, and bead areas that are formed along the sidewalls in spaced relation to the crown portion. The bead areas include at least one bead reinforcing element, such as a bead core and/or a bead filler, that is at least partially formed from carbon fibers. A method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire assembly is also included.

Tire Bead Fiber

Provided is bead fiber with which sufficient air volume can be infused for making a high-performance bicycle tire, which has superior workability that does not require drying of the bead fibers when covering the bead fibers with rubber, and which is effective in preventing rim detachment. A high-performance bicycle tire can be obtained by using this tire bead fiber. The tire bead fiber is characterized by being formed using wholly aromatic polyester fiber with a modulus of elasticity of 800 cN/dt or greater.

Tire

Tire frame step portions 18 are formed to a tire frame member 17. The tire frame step portions 18 are formed further toward the tire equatorial plane side than tire axial direction end portions 30A of a tread member 30. Covering layers 24 are formed at the outside of the tire frame member 17 so as to span from bead portions to the tire frame step portions 18.

Lighter hybrid bead wire for tyre

A bead wire for a tire includes a core, an outer layer, and at least one intermediate layer. The core includes at least one yarn of a multifilament textile fiber embedded in an organic matrix. The outer layer includes an outer-layer metal wire wound around the core. Each intermediate layer includes an intermediate-layer metal wire wound around the core. Each intermediate layer is disposed between the core and the outer layer.

TIRE COMPRISING A PAIR OF FLEXIBLE BEAD CORES

A tire comprises a pair of flexible bead wires (51) of reduced mass. Each bead wire (51) has the form of a closed circumferential ring, bracing the bead of the tire (1) against the rim (100) and comprising a first part made of a first material M1 taking the form of textile cords (560), the first part interacting with a second part of the bead wire (51) made of a reinforcing second material M2; the tensile stiffness is comprised between 4.510.sup.5 N/m and 1.810.sup.6 N/m; the circumferential bending stiffness, Kf, is greater than or equal to Kr*(1000*D/(16*25.4)).sup.3, where D is the diameter of the wheel on which the tire is mounted, measured at the seat (110) of the rim (100) in meters, and where Kr is equal to 2.10.sup.2 N.m.sup.2; and the elastic elongation of the bead wire (51) is greater than or equal to 2%.

Resin-rubber composite, tire, and method of producing resin-rubber composite

A resin-rubber composite includes: a resin member that has a treated surface, to which a surface treatment by means of a plasma treatment has been applied; and a rubber member that is disposed in contact with the treated surface of the resin member and includes a rubber, a filler having a silanol group, and a silane coupling agent, with a filler content of from 30 phr to 100 phr with respect to 100 phr of the rubber, and a silane coupling agent content of from 2 parts by mass to 15 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the filler.

Cable bead, tire using cable bead, cable bead manufacturing method, and cable bead manufacturing device

A cable bead comprising an annular core and a side wire spirally wrapped up around the annular core, wherein the annular core is made up of a round steel wire made to circle once or made, without being stranded, to circle 2 to 10 times side by side, and wherein the side wire is a round steel wire consecutive from the annular core.
