Truck tire with contention armature overlap
A heavy truck tire is provided that includes a tread and a casing. The casing has a bead with a bead core having padding gum and a rod with a perimeter. A contention armature surrounds the bead core and has an overlap, a majority of which is located outward in the radial direction from the rod. The padding gum is arranged in relation to the rod such that an outer area, inner area, and an axially outer area of the padding gum have areas that are greater than or equal to 20% of the area of the perimeter of the rod. An axially inner area of the padding gum is greater than or equal to 10% of the area of the perimeter of the rod.
Pneumatic tire with reinforcement material
A pneumatic tire with a reinforcement material includes: a tread that comes in contact with a road surface; side walls that extend and form shoulders and inner liners at both sides of the tread; a carcass that is integrally attached to the tread and the inner sides of the side walls and forms a turn-up head at both ends of the side walls; a belt layer that is layered on the tread of the carcass; and a bead that includes a bead core inserted in a wheel inside the turn-up head, a bead filler inserted in a side of the tread of the bead core, and a reinforcement material inserted in an interface of the turn-up head.
LIGHTWEIGHT TIRE
A tire has an axis of rotation. The tire includes two inextensible annular bead structures for attachment to a vehicle rim, a carcass-like structure having at least one reinforced ply, the carcass-like structure being wound about the two bead structures, a tread disposed radially outward of the carcass-like structure, and a shear band structure disposed radially between the carcass-like structure and the tread. The two bead structures include at least one layer of a three dimensional fabric including a tear drop frame structure and open cells defined by the tear drop frame structure.
The two bead structures include at least one layer of a lightweight foam material.
HEAVY-DUTY TIRE
A heavy-duty tire includes a tread part formed such that the tread part includes a crown profile including tire equator, and a pair of shoulder profiles extending from outer sides of the crown profile to tread edges. In a tire cross section including tire rotation axis in 5% internal pressure state in which the tire is mounted to a normal rim, filled with air at internal pressure of 5% of normal internal pressure and loaded with no load, each of the crown and shoulder profiles has an arc shape convex toward tire radial direction outer side such that ratio Rc/Rs of curvature radius Re of the crown profile to curvature radius Rs of each shoulder profile is 7.0 or more, and a tire axial direction distance from the equator to a connecting point between the crown profile and each shoulder profile is 0.70 or more times a tread half width.
TUBELESS TIRE HAVING REINFORCED BEAD PORTION
Disclosed is a tubeless tire having a reinforced bead portion capable of reducing the stress applied to a portion contacting a rim flange and to an edge of a carcass. The tubeless tire includes a carcass turned up around a bead core, a bead filler filled in a space above the bead core surrounded by the carcass, a steel chafer disposed to contact an outer surface of the carcass, and a first reinforcing rubber layer provided between the bead core and the carcass in order to prevent a turnup portion of the carcass from being pulled downwards, the first reinforcing rubber layer being located around a portion of the bead core that is oriented toward a rim flange. The bead portion is improved in durability under a high- pneumatic-pressure condition by reducing the stress applied to interfaces of the edge of the carcass, the steel chafer and the nylon chafer.
Tire assembly having an improved bead and a mounting rim
Assembly comprising a tire and a mounting rim, the tire comprising two beads each comprising at least one annular reinforcing structure and a carcass reinforcement anchored in the two beads by a turn-up, each bead comprising a filler of a rubber composition extending radially a radial distance DBE from the radially innermost point of the annular reinforcing structure, DBE being less than or equal to 10% of the radial height H of the tire, at least one sidewall further comprising a stiffening reinforcement of metallic reinforcing elements oriented at an angle less than or equal to 10 degrees to the circumferential direction, and positioned such that the distance DAE between the radially innermost point of the annular reinforcing structure and the radially outer end of the stiffening reinforcement is greater than or equal to 20% and less than or equal to 40% of H and that the distance DAI between the radially inner point of the annular reinforcing structure and the radially inner end of the stiffening reinforcement is less than or equal to 20% of H.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire comprises: a tread portion; a pair of sidewall portions; a pair of bead portions each with a bead core embedded therein; a toroidal carcass extending between the bead portions; and a sidewall rubber disposed axially outside the carcass in each of the sidewall portions. The bead portion has a bead bottom surface which contacts with a bead seat of a wheel rim when the tire is mounted thereon. The bead bottom surface comprises an axially inner region including a bead toe and an axially outer region including a bead heel. The axially inner region is formed by a canvas chafer. The axially outer region is formed by the sidewall rubber extended radially inwardly from the sidewall portion.
