A system for thermal regulation of a nebulizer is provided that is structured to deliver a chilled mist to the snout, muzzle, beak, or trunk of an animal. The system includes a container to house a nebulizer and a thermal material together and a mask to deliver the chilled mist to an animal. The thermal material acts to chill a liquid located inside the nebulizer in order to deliver a chilled mist to the animal for therapeutic purposes, such as initiating therapeutic hypothermia, or treating various respiratory illnesses such as croup, laryngobronchitis, and smoke inhalation.

Heat and humidity removal unit for a self-contained breathing apparatus

This disclosure relates to a regenerable, heat-abating, humidity-neutralizing, carbon dioxide removal system for a self-contained breathing apparatus. The self-contained breathing apparatus can include a carbon dioxide removal unit that scrubs carbon dioxide out of exhaled air from a user to provide humidified, scrubbed exhaled air. The self-contained breathing apparatus can further include a heat and humidity removal unit that is configured to receive the humidified, scrubbed exhaled air, and is configured to remove water vapor and heat associated with the water vapor from the humidified, scrubbed exhaled air in order to provide cooled, dehumidified inhalation air. The cooled, dehumidified air can be supplemented with oxygen and returned to the user at a comfortable temperature. In some implementations, the heat and humidity removal unit can replace conventional heat exchange and energy storage units, including heat exchange and energy storage units that use phase change materials.

Cooling device for a protective respiratory apparatus

A cooling device (10), for a protective respiratory apparatus (100), has a housing (20), a breathing bag (30) arranged in the housing (20) with an inlet (32) for respiratory air (A) and an outlet (34) for cooled respiratory air (A) and a spring plate (40) with a spring device (42) to apply a spring force to the breathing bag (30). Between the housing (20) and at least one section of an outer side (36) of the breathing bag (30) an cooling air channel (50) is formed. The cooling air channel (50) is connected to the ambient air (U) outside the housing (20) in a fluid-communicating manner. A blower (52) is arranged for the generation of a flow of the ambient air (U) through the cooling air channel (50). Furthermore a protective respiratory apparatus (100) having such a cooling device is provided.

FACE MASK FOR REGULATING HEAT AND HUMIDITY
20190321661 · 2019-10-24 · ·

A mask or mask component having air heating and humidity retention properties and a passive speaking membrane. The mask includes a heat exchanger and a plurality of corresponding air channels. In one embodiment, silver plated copper mesh is used as the heat exchanger. During the exhaling process, the heat exchanger captures heat and humidity from the exhaled air of the user wearing the mask. Further, during the inhaling process, the heat exchanger transfers the captured heat and moisture to the air being inhaled by the user. Condensed water is re-humidified into entering air that has passed through the heat exchanger. The passive speaking membrane permits and is tuned to allow and amplify the passage of the user's voice for better communication.

Mammalian Respiration Heater and Method

A mammalian respiration heater is provided including a container, a tube, and an aperture. The container has at least one wall configured to form a reservoir for containing liquid having a thermal capacity capable of rendering sensible heat to a user through respiration. The tube is carried for passage through the container in sealed relation at a first end and is configured to couple with a user's input respiration and a second end configured to draw in ambient air, and having a thermally conductive portion exposed in thermally conductive relation with the reservoir within the container. The aperture is provided in the container configured to enable admittance of liquid having an elevated temperature within the container. A method is also provided.

HALF FACEPIECE

A half facepiece respirator has a shaped support piece supporting and fixing the position of a particle or paper filter insert or outsert with either the support piece or the particle filter incorporating a face sealing component. Placed within the shaped support piece, a grille may be placed in the lower section of the shaped support piece. Additionally the half facepiece includes a head harness having a release mechanism.

PLENUM CHAMBER INSERT FOR PATIENT INTERFACE

A patient interface includes: a plenum chamber; a seal-forming structure; a positioning and stabilising structure; a plenum chamber insert configured to be positioned and retained within the plenum chamber; and a vent structure; wherein the plenum chamber insert has a plenum chamber insert port; wherein the plenum chamber insert has an exterior surface configured to be positioned adjacent to an interior surface of the plenum chamber; wherein when the plenum chamber insert is positioned and retained within the plenum chamber, a radial channel is formed by the interior surface of the plenum chamber and the exterior surface of the plenum chamber insert such that gas is able to pass between a patient-proximal side of the plenum chamber insert and a patient-distal side of the plenum chamber insert via the radial channel during use.

Passive Moisture Trapping Apparatus

A passive moisture trapping apparatus for use with an oxygen system, the oxygen system includes an exhalation sensor system and an exhalation hose, the apparatus comprising a shaped tube having a trap portion, a first end, and a second end, the first end attached to the exhalation sensor system, the second end attached to the exhalation hose, the trap portion having horizontal beams running across the trap portion such that a passive moisture trapping material can be inserted and removed from the trap portion.
