The water container includes an air inlet and an air outlet. The CPAP device further includes a first elastomeric face seal configured to sealingly abut against a substantially flat portion of the water container surrounding the water container air inlet, the first elastomeric face seal being located at an intermediate position between the flow generator air outlet and the water container air inlet when the water container is placed into position to pneumatically communicate with the flow generator. In addition, the CPAP device includes a second elastomeric face seal, a portion of which is configured to sealingly abut against a substantially flat external surface portion of the water container surrounding the water container air outlet.
Enclosed System Environment Pressure Regulator
A pulse modulated oxygen dispensing and pressurization system provides a variable range of controlled oxygen bolus to an enclosed breathing environment supporting and maintaining required pressure conditions in accordance with desired flow demand. As oxygen is consumed by the user from within the enclosed breathing environment, the exhaled gases and moisture are conditioned or vented to acceptable levels by additional systems associated with the environment. These additional systems cause an ongoing need to replenish the oxygen within the environment and maintain the required partial pressure of oxygen. Specific to one of a plurality of modes of operation, the system responds to changes in regulated output pressure by delivering a precisely metered periodic bolus volume of oxygen to support a requirement of the environment volume. The bolus is variable based on a plurality of factors to increase and decrease changes in rates of flow required to maintain regulated pressure.
VENTILATION APPARATUS AND MASK
There is provided an apparatus for preparing a ventilation gas mixture that comprises a gas mixing device, a first gas feed arranged to supply a first gas to the gas mixing device, an air inlet configured to receive exhaled air from a person, a gas reservoir arranged to store carbon dioxide from the air received in the air inlet and further arranged to supply the stored carbon dioxide to the gas mixing device via a second gas feed, wherein the gas mixing device is arranged to combine the first gas with the carbon dioxide in order to prepare the ventilation gas mixture.
Sterile Body Suit Apparatus, System, and Method
A sterile body suit apparatus, system, and method is provided. In certain embodiments, the sterile body suit apparatus may comprise a helmet member, a lower extremity member, and a control interface means. The helmet member may comprise a respiratory means to provide uncontaminated, breathable air to a wearer, an ingestion means for drinking, eating, and vaping, and an audio communication means. The lower extremity may be defined by a torso, a first arm, and a second arm, and may further comprise an egestion means. Moreover, in some embodiments, the sterile body suit may further comprise a temperature control means and a tactile sensation means. The sterile body suit method may comprise the steps of: providing one or more mobile computing devices; providing one or more body suits at an environment having a local computing device; receiving, at the one or more mobile computing devices, a suit selection; generating and transmitting, at the one or more mobile computing devices, a suit selection notification; receiving, at the local computing device, the suit selection notification; and preparing and delivering, at the environment, the one or more body suits to one or more wearers.
MASK IMPROVEMENT
According to some embodiments, a protective face mask to protect medical personnel by filtering exhaled air of infectious patients is disclosed. The protective face mask comprises a first layer, a second layer and a third layer. The second layer comprises a molecular sieve desiccant. The molecular sieve desiccant is between 0.1 cm and 10 cm thick.
Humidification face mask
A self-contained re-humidification mask that can be supported in an operative position on a user is provided. The mask has a wall shaped as a moulded domed mask configured to cover the face of a user from the nose to the chin. An endless peripheral edge is shaped and configured to generally anatomically follow the contours of a face of a user to define, with the face of a user, an air pocket. The mask has a single inlet-outlet aperture located generally opposite a position occupied in use by a mouth of a user, and at least one re-humidification assembly located in the inlet-outlet aperture such that it substantially fills the aperture. The re-humidification assembly includes a coil of corrugated hygroscopic paper having an axis of the coil extending in the direction of fluid flow through the inlet-outlet aperture. The re-humidification mask preferably has a wall formed from a non-woven synthetic fibre sheet that is press moulded and heat set to the domed shape.
BREATHABLE GAS APPARATUS WITH HUMIDIFIER
A humidifier assembly is configured to humidify a pressurized flow of breathable gas from a flow generator of a CPAP unit and includes a base configured to be attached to the flow generator, the base including a recess portion. A water receptacle is configured to be received within the recess portion of the base and includes a floor and a flange around an opening at the top of the water receptacle. A lid is hingedly attached to the base and is configured to pivot between an open position and a closed position. This lid includes a top wall, an outer depending wall, an inner depending wall in the form of a double wall, and an outlet pipe. A lid seal is attached to an underside of the top wall of the lid by way of a tongue and groove structure. A catch is located on the base and configured to lock the lid in the closed position.
HEATING FOR POWERED AIR UNIT
A powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) with an active heating system. The PAPR includes a powered air component designed to be carried by a user of the PAPR, the powered air component including a fan and a filter, wherein the fan draws air from a user's environment through the filter. The PAPR further includes an electronically controlled active heating element and a control system. The control system varies the power provided to the heating element and further disables the heating element when potential overheating of the heating element is detected. The present invention further includes a heating module for use with a PAPR. The heating module includes an electronically controlled active heating element. The heating element is disabled when the fan in the PAPR is not rotating.
HUMIDIFIER
There is provided a humidifier for a respiratory therapy system that includes a humidification chamber having an inner wall spaced from an outer wall to form a wall cavity between the inner and outer walls. A gas flow path is located within the wall cavity. Gas, such as air, flows along the gas flow path from an inlet to the humidification chamber to an outlet of the humidification chamber. Optionally, the gas flow path may follow a helical route through the wall cavity.
All weather electric indoor/outdoor heat exchanger face mask
A face mask apparatus is formed with a breathing chamber that provides adjustable warm and humidified air for inhalation. The breathing chamber heats cold air that is breathed in through the face mask during normal breathing, which is worn over the nose and mouth of a person. A temperature gauge monitors temperature for future adjustment of the amount of heat generating current. The air in the chamber is heated for inhalation by a resistive carbon fiber tape. The temperature of the resistive material (and by extension the warm air generated), is regulated/adjusted by increasing or decreasing the current output settings on the power source. Warm and humidified air is produced. The face mask may be part of a balaclava hood or a hat, or to other head gear, or as a stand-alone with straps around the head, optionally with an adjustable solar powered battery.
