ROTARY UNION FOR TIRE INFLATION SYSTEM
A rotary union having a housing, a shaft rotatably disposed within the housing, and a tube having a first end sealingly disposed within the shaft and a second end sealingly coupled to the housing. A tire inflation system may comprise a rotary union externally mounted to a vehicle wheel end or mounted to a vehicle fairing.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VEHICLE TPMS SENSOR CONTROL
Method and apparatus are disclosed for controlling a TPMS sensor of a vehicle tire. An example vehicle includes a communication module, a tire, and a TPMS sensor corresponding to the tire. The TPMS sensor is configured to receive a target pressure from the communication module, determine a modified target pressure based on vehicle data determined by a vehicle sensor, and, responsive to determining that a measured pressure differs from the modified target pressure by a threshold amount, transmit an alert to the communication module.
INFLATION MANIFOLD
An inflation manifold connected to dual pneumatic tires by air hoses provides a central location for tire inflation and location of pressure sensors. A hose block connected to dual pneumatic tires by air hoses provides a central location for location of pressure sensors. The pressure sensors may be TPMS sensors or a combination of TPMS sensor and pressure gauge.
CHASSIS MOUNTED ENERGY EXTRACTION AND DELIVERY SYSTEM
A chassis mounted energy extraction and delivery system. In one embodiment, a gravity-referenced, external tire inflation facility is integrated into an aerodynamic fairing mounted on the chassis of a vehicle. In one other embodiment, a torsion bar coupled between a hub-mounted energy extraction or delivery facility and a selected portion of the chassis provides a cross-referenced fixed point of reference. In a dual-axle embodiment, a first end of the torsion bar is coupled to the hub of one axle and a second end of the torsion bar is coupled to the hub of the other axle. In a single-axle embodiment, the second end of the torsion bar is coupled to the chassis.

WHEEL END ASSEMBLY WITH EXTERNAL ROTARY JOINT AND ROTARY JOINT VENTING MECHANISM
A wheel end assembly for a tire pressure management system including an axle having an axle end portion and a rotary joint assembly disposed outboard of the axle end portion. The rotary joint has a rotary hub, a non-rotating tube spindle at least partially disposed within the rotary hub, the tube spindle having a tube spindle hollow central chamber, an air seal provided between the rotary hub and the tube spindle, and a bearing assembly provided between the rotary hub and the tube spindle. The bearing assembly is positioned outboard of the air seal.
Methods And Apparatuses For Transitioning To A Battery Storage Mode In Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems
A method includes operating a transceiver of a tire pressure monitoring system in an active operation mode, where the transceiver includes a battery and a data storage device. The method includes determining whether the transceiver is coupled to an external power source, and determining whether the data storage device of the transceiver includes sensor identifier data stored thereon when the transceiver is not coupled to the external power source. The method further includes transitioning the transceiver from the active operation mode to a battery storage mode when the data storage device does not include sensor identifier data stored thereon and the transceiver is not coupled to the external power source.
Information transmission system for a commercial vehicle and a commercial vehicle and commercial vehicle combination
An information transmission system for at least one commercial vehicle includes at least one information sending module, at least one repeating module and at least one receiving module. The information sending module is configured and arranged to send signals defining a message to the repeating module. The repeating module is configured and arranged to enhance the signals and forward the signals to the receiving module. A commercial vehicle and a commercial vehicle combination utilize the information transmission system.
