Disclosed herein are various embodiments relating to devices, systems and methods relating to the mounting and inflating of tires for use in automotive applications. There is a need in the art for improved devices, systems and methods for tire mounting and inflation, so as to allow a user to prepare racing tires without mounting on a rim.

A hand-held device for measuring tire pressure and temperature including a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, an optical pointer, a processor responsive to an output of the pressure sensor and the temperature sensor, and a display. The processor is configured to output a value on the display indicative of a measured tire pressure.
Tire Characteristic Determination System, Tire-Wheel Assembly Manufacturing System and Methods for Operating the Same
A tire characteristic determination system is disclosed. The tire characteristic determination system includes a memory device that stores tire-engaging data related to one or more tire-engaging value to be utilized for spatially manipulating a tire about a wheel for forming a tire-wheel assembly. The tire characteristic determination device includes a tire-engaging test probe that is urged adjacent the tire at one or more tire displacement distances or is urged against the tire with one or more amounts of urging forces. The tire characteristic determination device is communicatively-coupled to the memory device for communicating the one or more tire displacement distances or the one or more amounts of urging forces to the memory device.
TIRE CONDITION DETECTION DEVICE
Data representing a ground contact time of a tire is transmitted from a tire side device, and received by a vehicle side device to calculate the ground contact time of the tire, to thereby calculate a ground contact length of the tire at that time. In a situation where a tire air pressure may change such as a tire exchange, the ground contact length at that time is set as a reference ground contact length, and a determination reference value is set on the basis of the reference ground contact length. As a result, the relative determination reference value corresponding to the tire type can be set, and a variation of the reduction rate of the tire air pressure when it is determined that the tire air pressure is reduced can be reduced. As a result, the reduction in the tire air pressure can be detected with high precision regardless of the tire type.
SYSTEM FOR EVALUATING THE CONDITION OF A TIRE
A system, which is structured to evaluate a condition of a tire, includes a housing, a tire-wear detector, a tire-presence detector, and an electronic activator. The housing, when the system is deployed, is placed on a ground surface. The tire-presence detector detects a presence of a tire on the housing. The electronic activator activates the tire-wear detector when the tire-presence detector detects the presence of the tire on the housing. The tire-wear detector, when activated, detects a wear condition of the tire when the tire passes over the housing.
Combination tire temperature, pressure and depth measuring device
A system for measuring tire pressure and temperature including a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, a processor responsive to an output of the pressure sensor and the temperature sensor, and a display. The processor is configured to output a value on the display indicative of a measured tire pressure and an indication of measured tire temperature, wherein the indication of measured tire temperature comprises an indication of the result of a comparison between the measured tire temperature and a predetermined temperature value.
Tire scanning diagnostic apparatus and system
The tire sensing and analysis system may comprise a measurement device and local application software. The measurement device may make contact with a tire of a vehicle such that the measurement device is positioned at a specific distance and orientation relative to the tire. The measurement device may capture multiple images of the tire using an RGB camera and a pair of infrared cameras. The local application software may analyze the images and may construct a 3D mesh describing the 3-dimensional contours of the tread. The local application software may determine a tread depth, tread issues, and tire condition and may display status and warning messages on a display unit that is coupled to the measurement device. The measurements may be communicated to remote application software for additional analysis. As non-limiting examples, the remote application software may detect specific tire wear patterns and may transmit a report to share results of the analysis.
TIRE WEAR STATE ESTIMATION SYSTEM
A tire wear state estimation system includes at least one tire that supports a vehicle. A sensor is mounted on the tire and measures tire parameters. At least one sensor is mounted on the vehicle and measures vehicle parameters. Each one of a plurality of sub-models receives selected tire parameters from the tire mounted sensor and selected vehicle parameters from the vehicle mounted sensor. Each one of the sub-models generates a sub-model wear state estimate, and a model reliability is determined for each one of the sub-models. A supervisory model receives the wear state estimate from each sub-model and the model reliability for each sub-model, and generates a combined wear state estimate for the tire.
TIRE EXTERNAL-SCRATCH MONITORING DEVICE, TIRE EXTERNAL-SCRATCH MONITORING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
A tire external-scratch monitoring device according to the present disclosure includes a controller configured to acquire an image of a tire, identify one or more reference positions on an outer surface of the tire as appearing in the image, detect external-scratch on the outer surface of the tire as appearing in the image, and output external-scratch information including positional information for the detected external-scratch relative to the one or more reference positions on the outer surface of the tire.
