Bead-Breaker Adapter
A bead-breaker adapter is an apparatus that minimizes the amount of force a user needs use in order to separate a tire from a wheel. The apparatus includes a spacing tube, a first extension arm, an axle-receiving hole, a bead-breaker handlebar, a second extension arm, and a wedge. The spacing tube attaches the apparatus onto a tire stand. The spacing tube allows the first extension arm to rotate about the axle of a tire stand and upholds the first extension arm above a tire mounted onto the tire stand via the axle-receiving hole. The first extension arm connects the bead-breaker handlebar to the axle of the tire stand and allows the bead-breaker handlebar to vertically pivot about the tire. The second extension arm connects the wedge to the bead-breaker handlebar and laterally pivots about the tire so that the wedge may be properly leveraged between the wheel and the tire.
Dampening system for a tire-bead loosener
A dampening system for a tire-bead loosener may have a lever in communication with an operation valve, the operation valve configured to channel a supply flow having a supply flow pressure through a first line into a first port of a cylinder and an exhaust flow having an exhaust flow pressure through a second line out of a second port of the cylinder. A pressure line connecting the first line to the second line may include a preset pressure relief valve, a pressure regulator, and a check valve. A bypass flow of the supply flow may move through the pressure line and achieve a damped pressure, thereby channeling through the second line and into the second port of the cylinder. The supply flow pressure in the first port of the cylinder may be cushioned against the exhaust flow pressure and the damped pressure in the second port of the cylinder.
Tire Bead Breaking Tool
A tool for breaking a bead of a tire from a wheel rim includes a clamping device and prying device. First and second jaws of the clamping device clamp onto the wheel rim. As the jaws clamp together, the second jaw wedges between the tire and wheel rim, forming a gap therebetween. The second jaw includes a hook that provides a fixed leverage point when the clamping device is fixed in place. The prying device engages with the fixed leverage point, and a wedge disposed on a bend in the prying device is wedged into the gap formed by the clamping device. The prying device is then levered on the fixed leverage point toward the tire so that the wedge pushes on an outer surface of the tire to break the bead of the tire from the wheel rim.
TIRE CHANGER
A tire changer which utilizes an elongated bead breaker assembly with a tool that defines a pair of contiguous, substantially planar tire contact surfaces which define therebetween an included angle in the range of about 155 to about 165 degrees. The tool is situated at an included angle of about 55 to 65 degrees with respect to longitudinal axis of the elongated bead breaker assembly.
