Described is a machine (1) for fitting and removing a tyre from a corresponding wheel rim of a vehicle, comprising: a wheel-holder unit (4), which rotates about a first axis (A); at least one bead breaker tool (29), movable along a second axis (B) parallel to the first axis (A); a roller (2) rotating about a fourth axis (D) parallel to the first axis (A) and configured to move by rotation about a fifth axis (E) spaced from the fourth axis (D), between an active position where it is in contact with a tyre tread of the wheel mounted on the wheel-holder unit (4), to a position of non-interference relative to the tyre; at least one sensor (40) connected to the roller (2) for detecting a signal representing a force transmitted to the roller (2) by the tyre; a removal tool (37), which is movable by rotation about a sixth axis (F) parallel to the first axis (A) and spaced from it, between a first position proximal to the first axis (A) and a second position distal from the first axis (A), which is movable in a direction parallel to the first axis (A) and movable towards and away from the sixth axis (F).
Inflator with reactive tire pressure monitoring
A wheel inflation apparatus including a wheel engagement unit that suspends a tire/wheel assembly and at least one inflation unit coupled to the robotic arm, each inflation unit being configured to inflate the tire/wheel assembly. A load measuring unit is configured to sense an amount of load being applied to the wheel/tire assembly. A controller is coupled to the load measuring unit for receiving a load signal and determining an internal air pressure of the tire/wheel assembly based on the load signal. The controller controls the at least one inflation unit based on the determined internal air pressure and a target (desired) air pressure value.
Tire changer and method of measuring force variations
A tire changer which comprises a mounting device for receiving at least a wheel rim of a wheel/tire assembly, wherein the mounting device has an axis (S), a roller which is able to contact a peripheral surface of the wheel/tire assembly and to apply a predetermined force to the peripheral surface of the wheel/tire assembly, a control device for controlling the predetermined force applied by the during a rotation of the wheel/tire assembly about the axis (S) of the mounting device and a sensor device for measuring force variations acting between the peripheral surface of the wheel/tire assembly and the roller, wherein supports of the roller and of the mounting device are designed for a relative movement of the roller and of the mounting device towards each other along a straight line to apply the predetermined force to the peripheral surface of the wheel/tire assembly.
