FireCoat FEDS (Fullbody Emergency Descent System)

A full body emergency descent system (EDS) for incorporating into the coat and pants of a firefighter for allowing for safe escape from elevated heights. The EDS includes: a panel housing flame resistant rope or cable into the coat, outside of its internal protective liner, with a pair of chest straps, and leg straps having lower buckles that can be fastened through pocket accesses to buckle connectors extending from each of a pair of leg loops incorporated into the pants to form a full body harness. The EDS further includes a purposefully designed control descent rack in and through which the rope/cable is wound and a friction braking handle. Preferred embodiments further incorporate a drag strap loop.

ADJUSTABLE FULL-BODY PROTECTION GEAR

A full-body protection gear is disclosed. The protection gear includes a torso protector, an arm protector, and a lower body protector. The torso protector includes a protective vest defining a neck opening, a first arm opening, and a second arm opening. The torso protector includes a front shield, aback shield, a first pair of side shields, a second pair of side shields, a first shoulder shield and a second shoulder shield fixedly disposed on the protective vest. The arm protector includes a first part adapted to cover an upper arm region of a user extending from a shoulder to an elbow, and a second part adapted to be removably coupled with the first part and to cover a lower arm region of the user extending from the elbow to a palm. The lower body protector includes a first part adapted to cover pelvic region and an upper leg region of a user, and a second part removably coupled with the first part in a partial overlapping manner, and adapted to cover lower leg region of the user. The lower leg region is indicative of a region extending from above a knee joint to above an ankle joint of the user.

Protective garment usable with gas tank releasibly carried by shoulder straps and waist belt

A system is provided for a firefighter or other emergency worker and includes a protective coat and a self-contained breathing apparatus. The self-contained breathing apparatus includes a regulator connected by a high-pressure hose to a gas tank that is releasibly carried on the coat by shoulder straps and waist straps.

In the personal protection device the height or thickness of at least one, or each, of the first portion and the second portion is, in the overlapping area or superimposition area, smaller than the height or thickness of a remaining part of the inflatable member.

The firefighter protective coat includes a linking element and a carrying element. The linking element has a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end of the linking element is affixed to the inside portion of the at least one exterior pocket. The carrying element is affixed to the distal end of the linking element, and is sized to fit within the inside portion of the exterior pocket. The carrying element is from the inside portion of the exterior pocket to hang outside the at least one exterior pocket.

The external material has an inner surface and the at least one abrasion resistant hem assembly includes a strip of reinforcing material affixed along an edge of the firefighter protective garment to the inner surface of the external material by a fastener. Personal protection suit

A personal protection suit has a selectively sealable hood (1) for protection against CBRN threats. In one series of embodiments, the hood (1) is separable from a jacket body (5) by a releasable attachment means (11), and has a mask hood seal (2) for sealing with a mask. In one series of embodiments the hood (1A) has a deployable face mask (60) stored within the hood (1A). The hood (1) can be removed without breaking the seal between the mask and mask hood seal (2) to minimise contamination during donning and doffing.

A flame resistant garment, in certain embodiments, may include multiple garment portions to provide different degrees of protection for welding or another application. In one embodiment, the flame-resistant garment may include a base garment and one or more supplemental protective layers or garments. For example, the base garment may include a jacket, a vest, a coverall, a jumpsuit, an overall, pants, trousers, a smock, a hat, a hood, or a combination thereof. The protective layer may include a bib or any other suitable attachment to add further flame resistance. Further, the multiple garment portions may be coupled together via a snap fastener system, a hook-and-loop system, a button system, a zipper system, a buckle system, or a clip system, or a combination thereof.

Heat resistant outershell fabric

The present invention relates to a thermally-resistant woven fabric and/or multiple ply fabric sheet for use as single or outer layer of protective garments, of the type comprising an inside fabric layer and an outside fabric layer joined together by an array of connecting lines. The woven fabric and/or multiple ply fabric sheet comprise yarns, wherein said yarn comprises i) meta-aramid ii) from about 5 to 10 weight % of polyamide and iii) at least 2 weight % of antistatic fibers, the weight % being based on the total weight of the yarn.

The present invention relates to a protective suit (1) being CE approved according to European Norm Standards EN 469:2005/A1:2006 or according to US National Fire Protection Association Standard NFPA 1971 Edition 2013 to be worn by a wearer during firefighting or similar operations, comprising a first outer fabric layer (3) which is at least made of flame-resistant material, a second basic layer (10) having a moisture barrier, and a third layer being heat-resistant, the second basic layer (10) and the third layer being connected, wherein the protective suit (1) is fulfilling EN 469:2005/A1:2006 or NFPA 1971 Edition 2013 when the first outer fabric layer (3), the second basic layer (10) and the third layer are worn together, and wherein the first outer fabric layer (3) is detachably connected with the second basic layer (10) by means of connection means (11), the connection means being arranged accessible from the outside of the protective suit, so that the wearer can easily separate the first outer fabric layer (3) from the second basic layer (10), when the first outer fabric layer has been contaminated during firefighting, without having to take off the second basic layer so that the wearer is still protected against the weather conditions. The present invention also relates to a protective suit system and a method.
