Hitch assembly

A vehicle hitch assembly is provided. The receiver tube is connectable with a bumper structure and defines a longitudinally-extending opening. The hitch assembly includes a drawbar assembly with an elongated body and a rod. The elongated body is dimensioned to be received within the opening in the receiver tube and defines a longitudinally-extending passageway. The rod is rotatably received within the longitudinally-extending passageway between a first position and a second position. The rod includes a detent feature that couples together the elongated body and the receiver tube when the rod is rotated to the second position and detaches the elongated body and the receiver tube when the rod is rotated to the first position.

Trailer-mounted mock landing gear

An example apparatus is configured to couple to a trailer and a tow vehicle. The apparatus includes a frame; one or more clamps mounted to the frame and configured to couple the frame to an underplate of the trailer; and a shaft having a first end rotatably coupled to the frame and a second end configured to couple to at least one replicated element of a towed vehicle. The at least one replicated element is configured to engage the tow vehicle.

A support beam for stabilizing a motorcycle on the wheel lift of a tow truck is provided. The support beam includes a mount that positions the beam horizontally on a rear portion of the tow truck at a level generally equal to the level of the motorcycle's handlebars when the motorcycle is resting on the wheel lift. The beam includes a first end attachable to the motorcycle's left handlebar using a left strap, and a second end attachable to the motorcycle's right handlebar using a right strap. With the motorcycle resting on the tow truck's wheel lift, and the beam configured to provide support to the motorcycle's handlebars, the motorcycle is secured to the wheel lift, stabilized, and able to be towed. In some embodiments, the mount is designed to be received into a wheel lift cable guide through-hole thereby securing the beam to the wheel lift.

TOWING SYSTEMS
20170274945 · 2017-09-28 ·

A portable towing system for a motorcycle or similar vehicle, such as a trike, the frame of which can be lowered to ground level to facilitate loading of the motorcycle or similar vehicle by pushing or riding the vehicle onto the frame without risk of the vehicle falling off the sides of a steeply inclined ramp. The towing system may be assembled, raised, lowered, and disassembled by a single person, if desired. The towing system also comprises a cargo box to store the frame when disassembled. The raising and lowering of the frame is effected by a lifting and lowering mechanism connected with the wheel assemblies, and at least three heights of the frame are achieved by rotation of the lifting and lowering mechanism of the wheel assemblies. The cargo box and the frame can use the wheel assemblies interchangeably.

An agricultural implement includes a tow bar assembly for towing the implement with a towing vehicle. The tow bar assembly includes a tow bar mounted to a part of the implement by a first pivot bearing so as to be pivotable about a first vertical axis. The tow bar assembly includes an arm parallel with and spaced vertically below the tow bar. The arm is attached to the part of the implement by a second pivot bearing so as to be pivotable about a second vertical axis that is coaxially located with the first vertical axis.

Receiver hitch clamp device
11427045 · 2022-08-30 · ·

A mechanism for clamping a drawbar in a receiver hitch uses a clamp pad to engage two adjacent interior surfaces of the receiver hitch tube. The clamp pad presses outwardly on the receiver hitch tube causing the opposing corner of the drawbar to engage the other sides of the receiver hitch tube. The clamp pad is extended and retracted by a shuttle member disposed inside the drawbar tube. The clamp may be self-aligning with respect to the receiver hitch. An adjustment mechanism is described for translating the shuttle member. An extendable pin mechanism may be actuated by the shuttle assembly. A locking mechanism may be provided to prevent an unauthorized person from releasing the clamp pad and the extendable pin.
