Rattle-reducing vehicular hitch pin assembly
11427042 · 2022-08-30 ·

An improved anti rattle hitch pin assembly for a trailer hitch assembly enables a threaded member to be inserted into the shank receiver, and allows for an easy alignment of a threaded device to the side hole of the shank receiver. The anti-rattle hitch pin assembly includes an arc-shaped retainer wire, a threaded receiver pin, a threaded member, and an optionally lockable member. The threaded member can be easily moved to the alignment position once the internal components of the hitch pin assembly including the retainer wire has been inserted inside the shank receiver tube.

Vibration minimization towing hitch

A vibration minimization towing hitch includes a shank attachable into the receiver tube the towing vehicle, and a separately formed head, such as for supporting a tow ball. The head is pivotable through a partial range of motion relative to the head, such as allowing the tow ball to pivot up to 7° downward or up to 3° upward. One or more compressible inserts are disposed in a pocket between the shank and the head, for resisting the limited pivotal motion of the head relative to the shank. A user performs a part of the assembly using two insertable pins or bolts, with insertion of the second pin compressing a compressible bumper which is separate from the insert(s).

Hitch tightener

A hitch tightening pin system is designed to attach a draw bar to a hitch receiver tube and prevent relative motion between the draw bar and receiver tube. The pin system has an elongate tapered shoulder bolt that has a larger and smaller outer diameter with a tapered surface extending between the larger and smaller outer diameter. The system includes an expansion sleeve that has arcuate portions. The expansion sleeve can slide onto the smaller outer diameter with the arcuate portions facing the tapered surface. A nut tightens to move the arcuate portions radially outwardly to apply force to the inside surface of a draw bar. The application of force causes the draw bar to be held tightly to the receiver tube and reduce or eliminate looseness or rattling during use.

Noise Isolator for Quiet Ball Mount

An improved hitch ball mount includes a draw bar shank having vibration-isolating member disposed over a portion of an outer surface of a draw bar rod. The vibration-isolating member comprises a vibration-absorbing material, and the draw bar shank is sized to fit closely within a receiver tube of a receiver hitch assembly so that the vibration-isolating member contacts the interior of the receiver tube when the draw bar is positioned within the receiver tube. The vibration-absorbing material can comprise a layer of composite or rubberized material. The vibration-isolating member can be a removable sleeve that can be slidingly positioned over the draw bar rod or it can be a layer of vibration-absorbing material molded over a portion of the draw bar rod. In some embodiments, one or more protrusions can be disposed on the outer surface of the draw bar rod.

HITCH VIBRATION DAMPENER
20230249503 · 2023-08-10 · ·

A hitch vibration dampener assembly and method of use thereof including a tow mount member including a base portion with a vibration dampener pad affixed to the back surface such that coupling of the tow mount member by locked engagement of at least one elongated pin successively received through paired side holes disposed in flanges of a hitch platform channel compresses a vibration dampener material upon the back panel of the hitch platform to thereby reduce the movement between the tow mount member and hitch assembly.

NOISE DAMPENER FOR A VEHICLE HITCH

A noise dampener that includes a dampener body; a hinged lever connected to the body and moveable between an engaged position and a disengaged position; a plunger cooperatively engaged with the lever, the plunger having a dedicated hitch engagement surface; and a fastening means configured to fasten the lever and plunger to an exterior surface of the hitch. The lever is operable to move the plunger in a vertical up and down movement so that the hitch engagement surface presses against an exterior surface of attachment arm inserted into the hitch.

Anti-rattle device for trailer hitch
11230149 · 2022-01-25 · ·

An anti-rattle hitch device is described. A rotating barrel pin is positioned proximate to the normal accessory port of receiving hitch housing. The pin cooperates with resilient bushings that are engineered to compress in overload situations, while urging the accessory drawbar flush against the upper, inner facing of the housing when the device is engaged under normal conditions. The resulting apparatus prevents unwanted rattling and play of the hitch and accessory without the need for loose or removable parts.

Hitch receiver alignment system

The present invention relates to a hitch receiver alignment system having a first opening extending through and arranged upon a surface of the hitch receiver, a piston, a cylinder having a second opening adjoined to the hitch receiver, and a cylinder head having a third opening that is adapted to receive an alignment member that is manually adjusted by a user to contact the piston. As the user manually adjusts the alignment member, the piston consequentially is moved within a first opening extending through the hitch receiver. With the hitch being locked within the hitch receiver by a hitch pin, as the piston contacts the hitch within the hitch receiver the hitch is rotated about the hitch pin and a gap between the hitch and the hitch receiver is eliminated.

ALIGNING HITCH PIN ASSEMBLY

A hitch pin assembly includes a hitch pin, housing and shoulder bushing. The housing removably connects to the bushing when the bushing is seated in the aperture of a receiver tube. When the housing is so connected a plunger of the housing extends through the bushing and projects into the receiver tube. When the shank is inserted into the receiver tube the plunger tip catches the aperture of the shank, holding the shank in a position in which the pin-receiving apertures on the receiver tube and shank are aligned. The hitch pin is then inserted from one side of the receiver tube and into the bushing. A plunger in the housing translates along a projection in a track of the plunger to reveal the projection to the hitch pin tip and place it into position for engagement with the inserted hitch pin. The engagement holds the shank and eliminates rattling.

Multiple Hitch Assembly

A height adjustable multiple hitch assembly including a shank hitch channel platform and a tow mount member with a base block configured for squared alignment within the channel having opposed flanges with aligned pairs of side holes, the block blasé having a plurality of through holes for engaged coupling with corresponding aligned side holes by a fastening member to thereby reduce the movement between the hitch platform and tow mount member that may be enhanced by a dampener member attached to a rear planar surface of the block base or a recessed column of the channel member.
