A receiver hitch includes a receiver with a rearward opening for receiving a forward end of a mount shank. The receiver has a side hole for receiving a hitch pin and a bottom hole for receiving a clamping bolt. The bottom hole is disposed forward of the side hole. When the mount shank is disposed in the receiver tube with the hitch pin inserted, tightening the clamping bolt urges a portion of the mount shank forward of the hitch pin upward into engagement with an upper interior surface of the receiver tube and also urges a portion of the mount shank rearward of the hitch pin into engagement with a lower interior surface of the receiver tube. in this configuration, movement of the mount shank within the receiver tube is reduced.

A hitch attachment system can include a hitch attachment configured to be secured to a vehicle hitch and one or more implements configured to be attached to a vehicle hitch. For example, the implement may be a wire rack, a vise stand, or some other implement. A securing mechanism can be configured to apply pressure transverse to a direction of sliding motion of the hitch attachment relative to the implement to inhibit movement of the implement relative to the hitch. The hitch attachment may include a stabilizing system that is configured to move a pressure member to apply pressure to an inwardly-facing surface of the hollow tubing to inhibit movement of the hitch attachment relative to the hitch.

Anti-rattle device with hitch cover

An anti-rattle device is shown and described. The anti-rattle device may include a frame configured to engage a receiver hitch and to receive a draw bar. The anti-rattle device may also include a cam engaging assembly operatively engaged with the frame, where the cam engaging assembly is selectively positionable between disengaged and engaged positions whereby the cam engaging assembly is adapted to engage the draw bar against the receiver hitch in the engaged position.

A receiver and draw bar hitch system is enhanced with several embodiments of a reduced play anti-rattle hitch clamp. A typical U shaped bolt can be placed atop the draw bar. A base bar has a forward lip to engage the bottom (or top or side) member of a receiver collar. The base bar has a pair of opposing shoulders to support the legs of the U bolt. Other embodiments comprise a flat plate on the top cross member of the U bolt, a U shaped upper plate to receive the U bolt, or a top shoulder style bar using straight bolts. Another embodiment uses a thick lower bar to replace the shoulders.

HITCH VIBRATION DAMPENER

A height adjustable tow mount assembly wherein locked engagement of corresponding through holes disposed in a tow mount member and an elongate member compresses a dampener member between an abutting front surface of the hitch platform elongate member and a rear surface of the tow mount member to thereby reduce movement and associated vibration between the hitch platform and tow mount member.

Noise dampener for a vehicle hitch

A noise dampener that includes a dampener body; a hinged lever connected to the body and moveable between an engaged position and a disengaged position; a plunger cooperatively engaged with the lever, the plunger having a dedicated hitch engagement surface; and a fastening means configured to fasten the lever and plunger to an exterior surface of the hitch. The lever is operable to move the plunger in a vertical up and down movement so that the hitch engagement surface presses against an exterior surface of attachment arm inserted into the hitch.

A trailer hitch assembly sized and shaped to fit within a trailer hitch receptacle, wherein the trailer hitch assembly includes a first tubular element and a second tubular element. Each tubular element has an angled end, wherein the angled ends of the first tubular element and the second tubular element are complementary to each other. The trailer hitch assembly may further include at least one guide to assist in aligning the first tubular element with the second tubular element along the angled ends. The trailer hitch assembly may further include an actuator configured to engage both the first tubular element and the second tubular element and to diagonally displace the first tubular element relative to the second tubular element.

A hitch pin assembly for securing a shank member to a hitch receiver tube to minimize relative motion between the shank member and receiver tube, comprising an elongated pin having a threaded portion, a threaded nut, an elastomer piece, and a shank member which are mated for tightened engagement compressing the elastomer piece so as to firmly engage the receiver tube. The shank member may include a slot for a corresponding threaded nut and elastomer piece so when the pin is tightened, the nut compresses the elastomer against the interior wall of the shank surface and upwardly, thereby restraining movement of the threaded nut and dampening movement of the shank inside the hitch receiver tube.

Aligning hitch pin assembly

A hitch pin assembly includes a hitch pin, housing and shoulder bushing. The housing removably connects to the bushing when the bushing is seated in the aperture of a receiver tube. When the housing is so connected a plunger of the housing extends through the bushing and projects into the receiver tube. When the shank is inserted into the receiver tube the plunger tip catches the aperture of the shank, holding the shank in a position in which the pin-receiving apertures on the receiver tube and shank are aligned. The hitch pin is then inserted from one side of the receiver tube and into the bushing. A plunger in the housing translates along a projection in a track of the plunger to reveal the projection to the hitch pin tip and place it into position for engagement with the inserted hitch pin. The engagement holds the shank and eliminates rattling.
