PPE WITH ROTATING ASSEMBLY PROVIDING MULTIPLE FACE COVERS
A personal protective device (PPE) comprising a face cover assembly and a bodysuit configured to be worn by a human user. The device protects users against airborne aerosol particles containing viruses or other infectious agents while enabling improved flexibility relative to prior art designs. The device includes a helmet-like” rotating face cover assembly that fits over the user's head and attaches to a collar on the biohazard bodysuit. This rotating face cover assembly has a plurality of different mask sides, each with differing geometries or other properties. The device enables a user to rotate (either manually or by electric motor) the masks and select a given mask side that best meets that user's needs. The different mask sides can accommodate different facial geometries, eyewear types, and use cases, such as operation in more hostile environments.
PROTECTIVE GARMENT
A protective garment having a face shield frame with a first opening. A face shield is mounted to the frame covering this first opening. A hood is provided that has a second opening. The second opening has a perimeter edge. The face shield frame has a groove adjacent the first opening, and the edge is releasably secured within the groove. The edge is frictionally retained within the groove. Alternatively, the face shield frame can have a connecting frame that is inserted into a groove on the hood. The protective garment can also include filter opening with a removeable filter material juxtaposed over the filter opening.
ANTIVIRAL ELEMENT AND PERSONNEL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT CONTAINING SAME
Provided is graphene-based personnel protection equipment (PPE) product, comprising: (a) a fabric, clothing, face shield, face mask, or glove body configured to support graphene sheets; and (b) graphene sheets deposited on a surface of the body or at least partially embedded in the body, wherein the graphene sheets comprise a plurality of discrete single-layer or few-layer graphene sheets selected from pristine graphene, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, graphene fluoride, graphene chloride, graphene bromide, graphene iodide, hydrogenated graphene, nitrogenated graphene, doped graphene, chemically functionalized graphene, or a combination thereof. Preferably, surfaces of graphene sheets carry an anti-microbial compound, preferably in the form of a nanoparticle, nano-wire, or nano-coating.
FUNCTIONAL FOOTWEAR UNIT
The invention relates to a functional footwear unit, in particular in the form of knit-of-parts, which has preferably a particularly modular protective function against chemical and/or biological toxic and/or harmful substances, especially warfare agents. The invention also relates to the uses thereof.
METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A GARMENT PORTION
A method for assembling a garment portion including accessing a first garment portion, a second garment portion and a fixture, wherein the first garment portion is generally tubular and has two plies. The method further includes positioning the first garment portion on the fixture such that the fixture is positioned in the first garment portion, and wrapping the second garment portion about the first garment portion. The method further includes unrolling or unfolding at least part of the first garment portion over the second garment portion such that the second garment portion is positioned between the two plies of the first garment portion.
Coating materials, and personal protective clothing items coated with the coating materials
Coating materials and coated personal protective clothing items incorporating the coating material are described. The coating material includes a polymeric component; a metal oxide component; and a catalytic component. The catalytic component includes a metal oxide or a mixed metal oxide which is an effective catalyst for an oxidation reaction. The coated personal protective clothing item includes a personal protective clothing substrate with a coating including the coating material.
Chemical and biological thermal ensemble and composite fabric
The disclosed subject matter relates to chemical and biological protective garments and ensembles (i.e., two-part garments that when worn together cover most of the human body) and composite fabrics used therein. The composite fabrics include embodiments having a fabric cover layer combined with a vapor protective layer.
MULTI-LAYER AIR FILTRATION MEDIA WITH INTEGRATED DISINFECTION CAPABILITY
An air filtration media with integrated disinfection capability. The media has a collection filter for capture of pathogens, and an ultraviolet (UV) radiation source integrated into the collection filter such that the pathogens collected by the collection filter are exposed to UV radiation from the UV radiation source.
COWL NECK BARRIER GOWN WITH ATTACHMENTS
This invention offers a fully protective cowl neck garment with various fasteners designed to attach additional protective gear, such as gloves and shoe coverings. Additionally, a temperature sensor shield is located on the hat and protective mask. This allows the clients or patients the ability to see and to monitor the temperature of their caregivers. The caregiver’s temperature is visible on the hat, as well as the face mask. This makes the caregivers accountable to their clients or patients, as well as their colleagues and coworkers. This invention eliminates the worry of contact with infectious diseases or dangerous liquids, by utilizing elastic manual ties and hook-and-loop fasteners to ensure the garment is secured fully on a user’s body. Overall, this invention ensures medical professionals, firemen, emergency medical personnel, government workers, and so forth, are protected fully from contagious and infectious diseases, liquids, and so forth.
