An exemplary self-locking actuator mechanism includes a floating plate and a linear actuator. The floating plate defines a first slot that includes a first central portion, a first jog extending laterally from a first end of the first central portion, and a second jog extending laterally from a second end of the first central portion. The linear actuator includes a shaft pivotably connected to the floating plate, and is operable to drive the shaft between a first shaft position and a second shaft position to thereby move the self-locking actuator mechanism between a first locking state and a second locking state.

An exemplary self-locking actuator mechanism includes a floating plate and a linear actuator. The floating plate defines a first slot that includes a first central portion, a first jog extending laterally from a first end of the first central portion, and a second jog extending laterally from a second end of the first central portion. The linear actuator includes a shaft pivotably connected to the floating plate, and is operable to drive the shaft between a first shaft position and a second shaft position to thereby move the self-locking actuator mechanism between a first locking state and a second locking state.

Hitches are disclosed relating to towing that include a sleeve, a receiver stem, a post and a coupler. The post may slide within the channel allowing the hitch to be adjustable. The coupler may be a socket configured to receive a ball. The post and the coupler may be in alignment. The described hitches may be useful for the towing of vehicles having a receiver tube.

A trailer coupling mechanism includes a first end, a second end, a height adjustment assembly, a first swivel assembly, and a second swivel assembly. The first end is adapted to couple to one of a trailer and a vehicle. The second end is adapted to couple to the other of the trailer and the vehicle. The height adjustment assembly is coupled between the first and second ends and is operative to adjust the relative height between the first and second ends. The first swivel assembly is coupled between the height adjustment assembly and the first end and facilitates rotation of the first end with respect to the height adjustment assembly about a first axis. The second swivel assembly is coupled between the second end and the height adjustment assembly and facilitates rotation of the height adjustment assembly with respect to the second end about a second axis parallel to the first axis.

A trailer coupling mechanism includes a first end, a second end, a height adjustment assembly, a first swivel assembly, and a second swivel assembly. The first end is adapted to couple to one of a trailer and a vehicle. The second end is adapted to couple to the other of the trailer and the vehicle. The height adjustment assembly is coupled between the first and second ends and is operative to adjust the relative height between the first and second ends. The first swivel assembly is coupled between the height adjustment assembly and the first end and facilitates rotation of the first end with respect to the height adjustment assembly about a first axis. The second swivel assembly is coupled between the second end and the height adjustment assembly and facilitates rotation of the height adjustment assembly with respect to the second end about a second axis parallel to the first axis.

A locking adjustable trailer hitch system includes a vehicle trailer hitch receiver having a receiver opening, an adjustable hitch bar that is slidably and removably received by the trailer hitch receiver, and a cable lock that is attached through the trailer hitch receiver and the hitch bar, and locked in place to secure and lock the hitch bar to the trailer hitch receiver. The hitch system further includes an anti-wobble device to secure and stabilize the hitch bar within the hitch receiver. The hitch bar can extend along the length of the hitch bar such that the distal end of the hitch bar can be positioned at an adjustable distance from the receiver. In certain embodiments, the hitch bar may include an extended slotted depression alongside one of its walls. In those embodiments, the hitch bar can extend along the length of the slotted depression such that the distal end of the hitch bar can be positioned an adjustable distance from the receiver.

A locking adjustable trailer hitch system includes a vehicle trailer hitch receiver having a receiver opening, an adjustable hitch bar that is slidably and removably received by the trailer hitch receiver, and a cable lock that is attached through the trailer hitch receiver and the hitch bar, and locked in place to secure and lock the hitch bar to the trailer hitch receiver. The hitch system further includes an anti-wobble device to secure and stabilize the hitch bar within the hitch receiver. The hitch bar can extend along the length of the hitch bar such that the distal end of the hitch bar can be positioned at an adjustable distance from the receiver. In certain embodiments, the hitch bar may include an extended slotted depression alongside one of its walls. In those embodiments, the hitch bar can extend along the length of the slotted depression such that the distal end of the hitch bar can be positioned an adjustable distance from the receiver.

A hitch bar with improved strength incorporating a protruded flanges or wings is provided. The protruded portion may be attached to the frame. The protruded portion may include a profile oriented at a substantially perpendicular angle relative to the frame. The profile may provide a zone of distributing a load throughout the hitch bar. The hitch bar may further include a slotted opening integrated with the horizontal portion providing additional zone of distributing a load along the frame. The hitch bar may further include a plurality of cross members at the transitional portion having a second profile.

A hitch bar with improved strength incorporating a protruded flanges or wings is provided. The protruded portion may be attached to the frame. The protruded portion may include a profile oriented at a substantially perpendicular angle relative to the frame. The profile may provide a zone of distributing a load throughout the hitch bar. The hitch bar may further include a slotted opening integrated with the horizontal portion providing additional zone of distributing a load along the frame. The hitch bar may further include a plurality of cross members at the transitional portion having a second profile.

An adjustable trailer hitch disposed on a ball mount, the adjustable trailer hitch including a trailer ball to receive a trailer coupler thereupon, a plurality of elongated members disposed on and within at least a portion of the trailer ball to move from retracted in a first position to at least partially extended in a second position, and an adjustment assembly disposed on and within at least a portion of the trailer ball to move the plurality of elongated members in response to a rotation of the adjustment assembly.
