Frame extension for vehicle and method
An extension for a vehicle having a frame rail and a cross member with a top flange and a bottom flange, with the cross member connected to the frame rail. The extension includes a top bracket having a vertical portion and a top horizontal member, where the top bracket vertical portion has a leading end portion and a trailing end portion. The trailing end portion is adapted to be attached to the frame rail and the top horizontal member is adapted to engage the cross member top flange. An outer plate is attached to the leading end portion of the vertical portion of the top bracket and has a middle horizontal member. A spacer block is positioned between and attached to the top and middle horizontal members. A bottom bracket has a vertical portion and a bottom horizontal member. The bottom bracket vertical portion is attached to the outer plate and the bottom horizontal member is adapted to be attached to the bottom flange of the cross member.
Pin Box Having Receiver for Interchangeable Coupler
A pin box is provided having a removable and removable hitch. The removable hitch has a kingpin end and a ball end. The pin box has a skid plate with an aperture with a receiver that can receive and affix the removable hitch. The skid plate is reinforced to the receiver to carry the load when the ball end of the removable hitch is being used. A pin is slidable between a locked position where the removable hitch is retained and an unlocked position where the removable hitch is removable. The pin extends through an aperture in the removable hitch to affix the removable hitch to the pin box.
Hitch ball with locking bail
A hitch ball with a locking bail for use with gooseneck hitch assemblies. The hitch ball includes a hitch ball body having a ball-mount on a first end. A second end forms a base that is insertable into a mating receiver mounted in a tow vehicle. A locking bail is pivotably coupled to the hitch ball body and is moveable from an unlocked orientation overlying the ball-mount to a locked orientation extending generally transversely to the hitch ball body. The locking bail is configured to function as a handle when in the unlocked orientation to provide a clean and easily graspable structure for handling and installing the hitch ball in a tow vehicle. The locking bail prevents coupling of a trailer or hitch assembly with the hitch ball when in the unlocked orientation and provides a visual indication of the locked or unlocked state of the hitch ball.
Lockable recovery device for vehicle
A lockable tow device for a vehicle includes a main portion defining a hook or shackle and a connector portion extending from the main portion and forming a receptacle. A pin is received in the receptacle, the pin forming a wrist joint of the tow device. An integral lock has a locked position that prevents removal of the pin and an unlocked position that enables removal of the pin, and can be spaced from the pin.
SAFETY CHAIN TIE DOWN MECHANISM WITH T-PIN
A safety chain tie down assembly is shown and described. The safety chain tie down assembly may comprise a body member, a pin member, and a securing member. The pin member may include a plunging portion configured to engage with a receiver of an under bed hitch mounting device. The pivot motion of the plunging portion may position the pin member between an unlocked position and a locked position. The safety chain tie down assembly may include a securing member that includes a lever, in which actuation of the lever positions the securing member into a secured configuration.
Recreational Vehicle Trailer Chassis
The recreational vehicle trailer chassis includes two main frame rails running front to back with a series of perpendicular connecting main cross-members to form a structural configuration increasing the torsional rigidity of the frame. The main floor and support framing has a front and rear living area generally divided by the direction of structural trusses. Above the rear and middle main frame rails is the rear and middle floor framing formed with a plurality of frame members. Between the rear and middle main frame rails and below the rear and middle main floor support framing are structural web beam trusses perpendicular to the main frame rails along with vertical support columns that connect the lower main frame to the rear and middle living area floor framing further increasing structural torsional rigidity. Above the forward main frame rails and vertical support columns is the front floor framing with a plurality of frame members along with structural web beam trusses running parallel with the forward living area floor. Outward from the main frame rails and vertical floor support columns is the front to back side saddle framing to allow access to the basement area internally and externally. The furthermost forward floor framing sections are where the hitch structure and hitch are located.
VEHICLE TOW HOOK
An assembly includes a vehicle frame, a base fixed relative to the vehicle frame, and a hook supported by the base and rotatable relative to the base between an extended position and a retracted position. One of the hook or the base has a flange and the other of the hook or the base has a pair of extensions. The flange is between the extensions. A post is fixed relative to the flange and engages both extensions. A spring is connected to the post and one of the extensions. The spring is positioned to bias the hook toward the extended position.
METHOD AND ASSEMBLY FOR POSITIONING A VEHICLE RELATIVE TO A TRAILER
A method of positioning a vehicle relative to a trailer includes capturing at least one image of a tow ball and a coupler with a camera. The at least one image of the tow ball and the coupler are processed to determine a coordinate of the tow ball and a coordinate of the coupler. A trajectory of the vehicle is determined to align the tow ball with the coupler.
Towing hook
A towing hook arranged on a mining machine, with a first end having a bent portion to allow a towing tool to be connected and a second end having a cylindrical rod. An intermediate part is located between the first and the second end. The towing hook is arranged to be mounted in a through hole in a frame of a machine in order for the first and second ends to be positioned on different sides of the machine frame. The intermediate part is mounted partly in the through hole of the frame, and wherein the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical rod is generally parallel with a longitudinal axis defined through the towing hook representing the force transmitting direction when connecting the towing tool to the bent portion.
Vehicle front-end assembly
A vehicle front-end assembly having a vehicle frame, a first tow hook and a skid plate. The vehicle frame has a first front side member with a front-end portion. The first tow hook has a forward portion and a rearward portion. The rearward portion of the first tow hook is attached the front-end portion of the first front side member by a first mechanical fastener. The skid plate has a main section, a first attachment flange extending from a first lateral side of the main section, the first attachment flange being fixed to the first front side member by the first mechanical fastener.
