The invention relates to a device, which can be mounted on the rear end of a motor vehicle body, for coupling a trailer or a load carrier unit, comprising a holding arm, which at a first end is fixedly connected to the motor vehicle body during operation and which, at a second end, is configured to support a coupling element, wherein the holding arm is provided with a sensor arrangement with at least three deformation sensors, and wherein the at least three deformation sensors deliver sensor values, on the basis of which at least one force component is determined by means of an evaluation unit.

A trailer system for a vehicle includes a trailer having a trailer body, wheels, and a trailer tongue for hitching the trailer to a towing vehicle. A rear end of the trailer body is pivotally and detachably attachable at a rear of the vehicle. When attached at the rear of the vehicle, the trailer is pivotable between a stowed position, where the trailer is vertically oriented along the rear of the vehicle, and a lowered position, where the trailer is lowered such that the wheels are at the ground. When attached at the rear of the vehicle and in the stowed position, the front end of the trailer body is at or near an upper region of the vehicle. When attached and in the lowered position, the trailer functions to allow items to be unloaded from the vehicle and onto the trailer body.

A trailer system for a vehicle includes a trailer having a trailer body, wheels, and a trailer tongue for hitching the trailer to a towing vehicle. A rear end of the trailer body is pivotally and detachably attachable at a rear of the vehicle. When attached at the rear of the vehicle, the trailer is pivotable between a stowed position, where the trailer is vertically oriented along the rear of the vehicle, and a lowered position, where the trailer is lowered such that the wheels are at the ground. When attached at the rear of the vehicle and in the stowed position, the front end of the trailer body is at or near an upper region of the vehicle. When attached and in the lowered position, the trailer functions to allow items to be unloaded from the vehicle and onto the trailer body.
FOLDABLE BALL HITCH
A folding trailer hitch is provided. The hitch includes a pair of bracket sidewalls each having two parallel columns of indexing holes. A hitch plate is included having a ball mount portion and an indexing portion. The indexing portion includes an upper indexing channel extending from an upper opening in a first side of the indexing portion to an upper opening in a second side of the indexing portion. The indexing portion also includes a lower indexing channel parallel to the first indexing channel and extending from a lower opening in a first side of the indexing portion to a lower opening in a second side of the indexing portion.

A folding trailer hitch is provided. The hitch includes a pair of bracket sidewalls each having two parallel columns of indexing holes. A hitch plate is included having a ball mount portion and an indexing portion.
