A locking adjustable trailer hitch system includes a vehicle trailer hitch receiver having a receiver opening. The vehicle trailer hitch receiver includes at least one hitch pin opening for placement of a locking hitch pin. A locking adjustable trailer hitch bar is slidably and removably attached to the trailer hitch receiver through the receiver opening. The trailer hitch bar includes at least one extended slotted depression alongside one of its walls. The slotted depression is adapted to be in alignment with the hitch pin opening and can be a pass through or non-pass through depression. The hitch system further includes an anti-wobble device to secure and stabilize the hitch bar within the vehicle receiver. The hitch bar can extend along the length of the slotted depression such that the distal end of the hitch bar can be positioned a greater or lesser distance from the receiver as desired.

A disclosed trailer hitch device includes an upper member to restrain the movement of the trailer hitch and a lower member to connect to the upper member and to connect to a vehicle. The upper member is rotatably connected to the lower member. The upper member is substantially U-shaped. The lower member is also substantially U-shaped and substantially symmetrical to the upper member. The upper and lower members include a respective side section, a respective arm section and a respective connecting plate configured to restrain the upper member from rotating with respect to the lower member. The upper connecting plate is connected to the lower connecting plate with a fastening device. A single component step washer includes a flanging washer concentric with a collar washer, the flanging washer comprising a ball mounting surface. The collar washer is configured to fit rotatably inside the hitching aperture of the lower member.

Tool for fastening trailer safety chains

The disclosed apparatus, systems and methods relate to a safety chain tool for use with gooseneck trailers. Various embodiments of the tool allow the user to remotely affix the safety chains of a gooseneck trailer, and are configured so as to be left in the bed of the truck during transport so as to allow for easy removal of the chains. In certain implementations, the tool comprises an elongate shaft with a handle at one end and a coupling mechanism at the other, wherein the coupling mechanism is fixedly attached to a chain and a clasp. In certain embodiments, the shaft contains a operational mechanism configured to actuate the clasp. In certain embodiments, this actuation is achieved by extending the ends of the shaft relative to one another.
