Pivot mechanism for bicycle carrier
Bicycle carriers or racks for attachment to vehicles may be provided with a pivoting mechanism to rotate the rack in a vertical plane to provide access to the rear of the vehicle without removing bicycles from the rack. An actuator may be provided for a user to engage and disengage the pivoting mechanism to respectively secure the rack in a desired orientation or allow it to pivot from one desired orientation to another. The actuator may be coupled to a bar that engages one or more protrusions in the pivoting mechanism to secure the pivoting mechanism at a desired orientation. In some mechanisms the actuator may be actuated by hand or by foot, or both.
Tooling and method for galvanizing kingpin coupler
A king pin coupler assembly of a fifth wheel coupling. A coupler plate has a king pin aperture therein. A king pin is positioned to extend axially through the king pin aperture of the coupler plate. The king pin has a first portion with a neck for engaging a fifth wheel of the fifth wheel coupling, the first portion extending to a first side of the coupler plate. The king pin has a second portion on a second side of the coupler plate and welded to the coupler plate. A shielding apparatus is secured to one or both of the king pin and the coupler plate. The shielding apparatus includes a cover sealed to the first side of the coupler plate. The cover extends over the first portion of the king pin to shield the first portion of the king pin during liquid immersion of the king pin coupler assembly.
Apparatus and method for trailer-light plug cover
An apparatus that includes an elastic sleeve; an integrally formed top cover that completely (or at least substantially completely) covers one end of the elastic sleeve; an integrally formed elongated clamp feature that extends outward from across a top surface of the top cover, wherein the elongated clamp feature has a C-shaped cross section; an integrally formed elongated strap that is connected at a proximal end to an edge of top cover and that has an elastic loop formed at a distal end of the elongated strap.

VEHICLE HITCH DETECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A vehicle hitch detection system is provided. The vehicle hitch detection system includes a camera arranged to capture images of a vehicle hitch and a controller processing the images to detect a powered hitch ornament connected to the hitch based on the processed images when an electrical hitch connection is detected. The controller may further control a driver assistance system based on the detected hitch ornament to enable or disable the system.

Trailer coupler lock
A trailer coupler lock includes a coupler lock body and pin body assembly. The lock body retains the pin body assembly and slides horizontally onto a trailer coupler. When the lock body is in position under the trailer coupler, the pin body assembly is slid upward through the lock body and a protruding pin section of the pin body passes via a top hole in the pin body to enter into the coupler ball socket. While the pin body is in this position, a key is utilized to slide a shackle on the pin body assembly through a hasp on the lock body thereby blocking retraction of the pin body and locking the whole assembly together onto the trailer coupler. In this locked position, the protruding pin section of the pin body secures the coupler lock body to the trailer coupler and prevents an unwanted union with a trailer hitch.
