Walking beam axle assembly for an agricultural implement
A walking beam assembly mounts onto the main frame of an agricultural trailer in place of a single axle assembly. The walking beam assembly has a main axle beam serving as the only connection to the main frame. Two walking beams, with a pair of wheels on each, are supported at opposing ends of the main axle beam. Two hubs are pivotally supported on the main axle beam at respective hub locations spaced inward axially of the main axle beam relative to the ends of the main axle beam. A pair of brace members are coupled between each hub and the respective walking beam at diametrically opposing sides of the walking beam pivot. The hubs and the brace members are pivotal relative to the main axle beam about the same walking beam axis as the walking beams.
Vehicle elevation system
A dumping vehicle includes a vehicle elevation system for elevating a body of a vehicle. The system can use one or more components of a vehicle as a main support against which a vehicle body is elevated. In certain examples, a suspension device of the vehicle can be used as the main support. The system further includes an elevation device arranged between the suspension device and a vehicle frame and configured to elevate the vehicle body by lifting the vehicle frame against the suspension device.
Mechanism and suspension to improve stability and handling for knuckle-boom loader trailers in off-road conditions
A knuckle-boom loader trailer has a trailer frame, a heavy equipment package of a knuckle-boom crane and an operator cab mounted on top of the trailer frame, and a walking-beam suspension propping up the trailer frame.
Bogie axle system
A bogie axle system having a slew bearing assembly that pivotally couples a chain housing to an axle housing. The slew bearing assembly includes a plurality of bearing elements that are received in a bearing groove of a spindle and that are disposed between the spindle and an outer race.
Shock absorbing equalizer for suspension system
An equalizer for a suspension system includes a pivot arm pivotably connected to first and second plates at a pivot point, first and second bump stops connected between the first and second plates on one side of the pivot point, and third and fourth bump stops connected between the first and second plates on the other side of the pivot point. First through fourth shock absorbers are disposed between the pivot arm and the first through fourth bump stops, respectively.
BOGIE FOR A FORESTRY VEHICLE AND VEHICLE WITH AT LEAST ONE BOGIE AXLE
A bogie for a forestry vehicle is disclosed that includes a bogie body, which has a first wheel hub for arrangement of a first wheel and a second wheel hub for arrangement of a second wheel. The bogie includes a swing arm pivotably hinged at a first end portion on the bogie body, and at a second end portion has a wheel hub for arrangement of a center wheel between the first wheel and the second wheel. The bogie further includes a spring and/or damper element, which at one end portion is hinged on the bogie body and at the other end portion is hinged on the second end portion of the swing arm and by means of which the swing arm is capable of being applied with force. A vehicle, in particular a forestry vehicle, is also disclosed having at least one bogie axle with such a bogie.
Torque compensated walking beam assembly with journal joint
A vehicle walking beam assembly includes a support beam and a mount member configured to rotatably mount the support beam on the chassis. A gear assembly with a gear train and a gear housing is supported by the support beam. The gear train includes a gear with a first journal surface, and the housing includes a second journal surface. The walking beam assembly additionally includes an input drive assembly that delivers input torque from the engine to the gear train. Moreover, the walking beam assembly includes a reaction member connected to one of the gear housing and the gear of the gear train. The reaction member is configured to transfer a reaction force between the chassis and the one of the gear housing and the gear of the gear train as the first journal surface journals on the second journal surface.
Systems and methods for vehicle suspensions
A suspension element includes a housing, a first joint, and a second joint. The housing is configured to couple a tractive element assembly to a vehicle. The housing has a first end configured to engage a portion of the vehicle and a second end configured to interface with the tractive element assembly. The first joint includes a first actuator and a first resilient member. The first actuator is configured to facilitate linear extension and retraction of the suspension element. The second joint includes a second actuator and a second resilient member. The second actuator is configured to facilitate rotational movement of the suspension element. The first resilient member and the second resilient member are configured to support a static load of the vehicle.
Method for determining whether or not ground contact loss is imminent for a wheel of a vehicle
A method is provided for determining whether or not ground contact loss is imminent for a wheel of a vehicle, the vehicle including a vehicle body having a vertical extension in a vertical direction, the wheel being allowed to be subjected to a relative vertical displacement, in the vertical direction, in relation to the vehicle body, the vehicle further being such that a maximum value of a vertical displacement of the wheel relative to the vehicle body is limited to a relative vertical displacement limit, the method including determining an actual relative vertical displacement of the wheel relative to the vehicle body, determining a limit margin as the difference between the actual relative vertical displacement and the relative vertical position limit, and determining that ground contact loss is imminent for a wheel if the limit margin is within a predetermined vertical threshold range.
BOGIE AXLE FOR A VEHICLE WITH A PREFERRED TRAVELLING DIRECTION, AND VEHICLE WITH AT LEAST ONE BOGIE AXLE OF THIS TYPE
The invention relates to a bogie axle (10) for a vehicle (12) with a preferred travelling direction (V). The bogie axle (10) comprises at least one axle rocker (14) which has, as output, two hubs (16) which are arranged spaced apart for the arrangement of a front wheel (18) and a rear wheel (18), and which has an eccentric axle rocker mounting (20) which is arranged between the hubs (16) for pivotable mounting of the axle rocker (14) on an axle carrier, wherein the axle rocker mounting (20) has, as input, an input shaft (22) which, in order to drive the front wheel (18) and the rear wheel (18), is coupled thereto via at least one transmission (24). A geometry of the at least one axle rocker (14) corresponds to formula (I): in which e denotes an eccentricity of a rotational axis (D) of the axle rocker mounting (20) in the preferred travelling direction (V) starting from a centre axis (M) which is arranged between the hubs (16). The invention further relates to a vehicle (12) with a bogie axle (10) of this type.
