FALL-PROTECTION APPARATUS WITH MULTIMODAL INDUCTIVE SENSING
A fall-protection apparatus comprising at least one connector that comprises a resonant-frequency-shifting inductive sensing unit that is configured to detect whether the connector appears to be connected to a first item and is further configured to detect whether the connector appears to be connected to a second, different item.
FALL PROTECTION HARNESS WITH DAMAGE INDICATOR
A fall protection harness or fall protection static line includes one or more straps, an electrical sensing device coupled to the one or more straps, a computer processor coupled to the electrical sensing device, and a transmitter coupled to the computer processor. The one or more straps are made up of an electrically non-conducting thread and an electrically conducting thread. The electrically non-conducting thread and the electrically conducting thread are intertwined, or the electrically conductive thread is intertwined with itself. The electrical sensing device detects a disruption in current in the electrically conducting thread, a disruption in voltage in the electrically conducting thread, or a change in resistance in the electrically conducting thread, which indicates damage to the fall protection harness or a fall by a person wearing the fall protection harness.
Method of rescuing a subject positioned in a vehicle and a rescue device
A rescue device for moving a subject includes a brace member for securing the arms and the torso of the subject together. The brace member includes a central section, a first lateral section and a second lateral section, and a fastener. The brace member is capable of forming a loop for securing the arms and the torso of the subject together by fastening the first lateral section to the second lateral section with the fastener. A ribbon member pair for moving and/or stabilizing a subject wearing the brace member when said rescue device is in use includes a first ribbon member having a first portion connected to the brace member and a second ribbon member having a second portion connected to the brace member.
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for ensuring worker safety
Methods, systems, and apparatuses for ensuring safety of a worker are disclosed. The system includes a first fastener configured to secure two or more ends of a harness around the user, a first sensor unit attached to the first fastener, the first sensor unit configured to generate a first signal when the first fastener is in a locked position, a tether attached to a portion of the harness, the tether configured to tether the user to a stationary or movable object, and a second fastener attached to one end of the tether, the second fastener configured to secure the one end of the tether to the stationary or movable object, a second sensor unit attached to the second fastener, the second sensor unit configured to generate a second signal when the second fastener is in a locked position, and a controller unit wirelessly connected to the first sensor unit and the second sensor unit, the controller unit configured to generate a third signal when the first or the second signal is not received by the controller unit within a predetermined period of time.
Controlled descent self-retracting lanyard
A self-retracting lanyard including a main body and a retractable line. The retractable line is coupled to the main body so as to be extendible and retractable relative to the main body and to be restricted from extending relative to the main body in response to a user of the self-retracting lanyard falling. The self-retracting lanyard further includes a manual control operable by the user to initiate controlled descent of the retractable line relative to the main body.
ROTORCRAFT FALL RESTRAINT PROTECTION ATTACH POINTS AND MECHANISM SYSTEMS
The present invention includes a safety apparatus and method for protecting users during maintenance operations for a rotorcraft comprising: at least one permanent, semi-permanent, or detachable safety bar, strap, fastener, hook, or loop that is attached or attachable to a rotorcraft, wherein the safety bar, strap, fastener, hook, or loop is positioned in an area or surface between a windshield of the rotorcraft and a tail boom of the rotorcraft and is connectable to a user safety device to provide fall protection from the area or surface.
Fall restraint system
A fall restraint system comprises a webbing and a restraint mechanism. The restraint mechanism comprises a first end and a second end. A cam is located at the first end. A plurality of washers is positioned in series from the second end with at least one of the washers located adjacent to the cam. The webbing is inserted into the restraint mechanism from the second end and wrapped in a serpentine path around the plurality of washers, around the cam, and out of the restraint mechanism through the first end such that the webbing is interposed between the cam and the washer located adjacent the cam. When the webbing is pulled through the restraint mechanism, the cam is rotated and presses the webbing against the washer located adjacent to the cam creating drag friction on the webbing and slowing the rate of movement of the webbing through the restraint mechanism.
Self-Retracting Lifeline Communications Systems
Fall protection equipment, such as a self-retracting lifeline (SRL), including features that enable the SRL to communicate sound to a user or data, or signals to a wireless device.
Safety device for assisting a user to traverse a structure
A system assists a user to traverse a structure. A safety device includes a sensor assembly to detect positions of a user along a travel path for a structure, wherein the travel path includes a plurality of attachment points to secure the user to the structure via one or more lines, a motion assembly to move the safety device along the travel path based on the detected positions of the user, wherein the motion assembly maintains a threshold distance from the user, and a coupling mechanism to couple the one or more lines to one or more of the attachment points encountered along the travel path. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for assisting a user to traverse a structure in substantially the same manner described above.
COLD WEATHER CLIMBING GARMENT
A cold-weather garment for providing additional safety for those working on climbing of structures is presented. A safety harness to be combined with a cold-weather garment to provide for further safety and comfort of those who have a need for climbing structures. Furthermore, the safety harness shall further need to be coupled to a structure to promote further safety as well as be cost efficient and comfortable.
