Fall Protection Compliance System and Method
A fall protection compliance system includes a connection structure configured for interfacing a connector comprising a frame and a connection sensor assembly. The connection structure includes a connection loop, a connection anchor, and a housing. The housing includes an identification element. The connection sensor assembly includes at least one short-range wireless communication antenna and a control device. The control device includes at least one processor which is configured to receive connection data from the short-range wireless communication antenna, determine a connection status of the connector based on the connection data and perform at least one action based on the connection status.
Carabiner divider and fall arrest system
A divider (10) for a carabiner (12) in a fall arrest system (14), the carabiner (12) having a frame (32); and an openable gate (34) configured to be moved between an open position and a closed position, the divider (10) comprising a body (50) having: (i) a central body portion (52); and (ii) a plurality of connection portions (54) extending from the central body portion (52) and configured to attach the divider (10) to at least a portion of the frame (32) of the carabiner (10), wherein the plurality of connection portions (54) are spaced and divide the carabiner (12) into a plurality of areas (56) for connection of at least one component (18, 20) of the harness arrangement (16) and at least one fall arrest device (22).
Safety climb attenuation apparatus
A safety climb attenuation apparatus provides a more robust and visually inspectable apparatus for climbing safety. In an upper bracket, a pivot arm is attached to a base that is disposed upon a structure. The upper bracket includes an attenuation member such as an elastic bushing, mounted on the pivot arm or the base, that resists pivoting of the pivot arm relative to the base when a safety cable attached to the pivot arm causes the pivot arm to pivot. In a lower bracket, a similar attenuation member is attached to a base disposed on the structure, with an anchor bolt connecting the cable to the attenuation member so that the attenuation member resists upward movement of the cable.
Garment including a garment port
A garment having an inner surface and an outer surface for use with a safety strap, the garment comprising a collar configured to at least partially encircle an upper portion of the garment, a garment port arranged on or adjacent to the collar forming a channel between the inner surface and the outer surface of the garment, the garment port having at least three sides, one of the sides being open to form the channel, a flap coupled to the collar and configured to move between a closed configuration covering the port and allowing passage of the safety strap through the channel between the inner surface and the outer surface of the garment and an open configuration allowing removal of the safety strap through the open side of the port, and a closure device arranged with the flap and configured to maintain the flap in the closed configuration.
AN ENERGY-ABSORBING STRUCTURE FOR A TETHER LINE, AND A TETHER LINE INCORPORATING THE SAME
An energy-absorbing structure for a tether line includes a helical spring and a first connector for securing a first end of the helical spring to a first fastener (such as a support cable section, an eye bolt or an eye nut). The first connector has an externally threaded portion for threadedly receiving the first end of the helical spring. A sleeve is provided on the connector, extending over at least part of the first end of the helical spring and the external threaded portion of the connector, for retaining the helical spring on the connector. Additionally or alternatively, the connector includes a tapered portion extending from the inner end of the externally threaded portion.
Shower belt drowning prevention device
The present invention relates to a drowning prevention device for use in the shower employing an autonomous, gravity-based mechanism. In one example, the drowning prevention device comprises a harness comprising a belt and a lanyard. In a fall situation, the body weight of a user wearing the belt of the drowning prevention device directs the force to the lanyard which pulls an attached cable connected to the shower's valve arm, closing the valve arm and stopping water flow.
SAFETY DEVICE FOR ASSISTING A USER TO TRAVERSE A STRUCTURE
A system assists a user to traverse a structure. A safety device includes a sensor assembly to detect positions of a user along a travel path for a structure, wherein the travel path includes a plurality of attachment points to secure the user to the structure via one or more lines, a motion assembly to move the safety device along the travel path based on the detected positions of the user, wherein the motion assembly maintains a threshold distance from the user, and a coupling mechanism to couple the one or more lines to one or more of the attachment points encountered along the travel path. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for assisting a user to traverse a structure in substantially the same manner described above.
CONTROLLED DESCENT SELF-RETRACTING LANYARD
A self-retracting lanyard including a main body and a retractable line. The retractable line is coupled to the main body so as to be extendible and retractable relative to the main body and to be restricted from extending relative to the main body in response to a user of the self-retracting lanyard falling. The self-retracting lanyard further includes a manual control operable by the user to initiate controlled descent of the retractable line relative to the main body.
SYSTEM FOR MONITORING A FALL ARREST DEVICE
A system for monitoring a fall arrest device, where said fall arrest device is a lifeline of a flexible rope or track type, comprising: a first sensor (15) for measuring the oscillations of said fall arrest device; a control unit (13) being electrically connected to said first sensor (15); said control unit (13) being electrically connected to a control centre (45); said control centre (45) being designed to evaluate whether an event selected from among a series of predefined events has occurred, based on the measurements carried out by said first sensor; in the case of a positive outcome said control centre (45) being designed to warn of the occurred event, with a signal.
Wood anchoring device
A wood anchoring device having a connecting ring defining a closed connecting aperture and at least two ties, at least two of the at least two ties having respective fastening holes at anchoring ends thereof. The device may be fastened to the thin side of a 2N piece of lumber through the fastening holes, wherein the at least two of the at least two ties are on the same side of the connecting ring relative to the axis of a test tensile load applied to the connecting ring in a direction perpendicular to the elongate axis of the piece of lumber. At least one of the ties has a length that is substantially different from a corresponding length of at least one other tie, the different lengths providing for responding to tensile loading by stretching differentially and thereby assisting in equalizing the forces applied to the fastening holes.
