WHEEL SUSPENSION FOR A TWO-TRACK VEHICLE
20180072357 · 2018-03-15 · ·

A wheel suspension for a two-track vehicle having at least one stabilizer formed as a stabilizer torsion spring rod, with the stabilizer extending in the vehicle's transverse direction and having a drive lever on at least one vehicle side, which acts upon a wheel guidance element of the wheel suspension, and having at least one suspension spring, which is tensioned with a spring preload between the vehicle body and a wheel guidance element of the wheel suspension. The suspension spring is at least partially formed as a suspension spring/torsion spring rod. The suspension spring/torsion spring rod is arranged radially within the stabilizer torsion spring rod designed as a hollow rod.

An assembly for supporting a vehicle chassis on a wheel of the vehicle includes a frame pivotably connected to the vehicle chassis at a connection location and a wheel attachment component slidingly coupled with the frame. The wheel attachment component is positioned on a first side of the connection location and is configured to pivot in unison with the frame and to move between a plurality of operating positions relative to the frame. A suspension component regulates motion transfer between the frame and the attachment component and is positioned on a second side of the connection location opposite the attachment component. An adjustment actuator is configured to shift the attachment component between any of the plurality of operating positions relative to the frame. The adjustment actuator is functionally independent of the suspension component.

Unique suspension apparatuses, systems and methods useful for mountain bicycles among other applications are disclosed. In certain exemplary embodiments the suspension is self adjusting to meet different performance objectives. The suspension may utilize pedaling force to substantially stiffen or lock out movement of the suspension, for example, during climbing. The suspension may change its performance under reduced pedaling force to provide performance characteristics desired when a rider is descending. Certain exemplary embodiments include a rocker arm connected to a first frame portion at a first rocker arm pivot, connected to a seatstay at a second rocker arm pivot, and connected to a second link at a third rocker arm pivot. The first link is connected to the first frame portion at a first link pivot, connected to the chainstay at a second link pivot, and connected to the shock and the second link at a third link pivot.

Roll damper assembly for a vehicle suspension, comprising: a first bracket comprising first inner and outer bracket; a second bracket comprising second inner and outer bracket; a roll damper mounted between first and second inner bracket; first mount coupled to first outer bracket and second mount coupled to second outer bracket; first guide rod attached at first end to first outer bracket, and slidably attached to inner second bracket; a second guide rod attached at a first end to second outer bracket, and slidably attached to inner first bracket; first end stopper mounted on the second end of said first guide rod to stop second end of said first guide rod from exiting from slidable attachment to inner second bracket; second end stopper mounted on second end of said second guide rod to stop second end of said second guide rod from exiting from slidable attachment to inner first bracket.

Vehicle provided with a suspension and an electromechanical rotary device for controlling the suspension, and method for controlling motion of a vehicle suspension

A vehicle is provided which has a vehicle body, at least one hub of a wheel, and a suspension connecting the hub to the vehicle body. The suspension has a suspension arm hinged to the vehicle body and to the hub, a spring, and an electromechanical rotary actuator operable between an active adjustment condition and a damping condition of the motion of the suspension, via a leverage.

Suspension system

A suspension system for a vehicle is provided. A linear regenerative suspension system that converts mechanical energy into storable electrical energy is also provided. The system utilizes pistons, one on each side of the vehicle, engaged with a vehicle body at a distal end and having a fluid chamber at the proximal end. The system further has a central chamber having a rod freely laterally moving therein. A fluid communicates between the central chamber and each piston fluid chamber. Upon nonlinear forces applied to the vehicle, the rod is urged in one direction or another. This urging applies force to the fluid in the central chamber, and in turn, to the piston in the corresponding side of the vehicle, urging the piston up and in turn urging the vehicle body up.
