ANTI-PANIC CABLE GRAB
The cable grab safety device releasably attaches a workman's safety lanyard to a steel cable. A primary frame constructed of an elongated U-shaped bracket having a pair of spaced apart parallel side plates fits around the cable. A secondary frame also comprised of a pair of side plates fits within the U-shaped bracket after the cable is inserted. The secondary frame carries a brake in the form of a pulley mounted in an elongated slot movable toward or away from the cable. A lever attached to a worker's lanyard moves the pulley only in the inward direction to engage the cable in the event of a fall. A bent pin connected between the primary and secondary frames allows for limited pivotal and axial movement between them allowing the cable to be inserted into the U-shaped bracket. A separate locking pin secures the frame members together.
Ventral locking device
A self-locking device for a mountaineer or a speleologist climbing up a rope is provided herein. The device includes a main body having an inner face with a sliding seat for the rope. The sliding seat is partially defined by a part of the body of the device folded upon itself and partially defined at a bottom and laterally by the inner face of the body of the device. The device includes a cam member associated with the body and able to tilt around an axis X from an open position to a position holding the rope. The self-locking device also includes one or more pulleys associated with the body. The one or more pulleys are arranged so that a longitudinal axis Z lies on a plane parallel to a plane a of major extension of the body and perpendicular to a sliding direction of the rope.
LINKAGE OPERATION ASSEMBLY, FALL PROTECTION DEVICE AND FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM
The present application relates to the technical field of linkage mechanisms, and provides a linkage operation assembly, a fall protection device and a fall protection system. The linkage operation assembly includes a fixed main body configured to be installed on an outer support surface of a rail and move along the rail; a second wheel body assembly installed on the fixed main body for rolling along an inner support surface of the rail and including a second wheel set and a drive rotary shaft; a third wheel body assembly installed on the fixed main body for rolling along an inner support surface of the rail and including a third wheel set and a driven rotary shaft; and a linkage member disposed between the drive rotary shaft and the driven rotary shaft. When the drive rotary shaft of the linkage operating assembly rotates, the second wheel set is driven to rotate, and the driven rotary shaft and the third wheel set are driven to rotate through the linkage member. Therefore, during the installation process of the linkage operation assembly, only the drive rotary shaft needs to be rotated to switch the state of the linkage operation assembly, so as to facilitate the installation of the linkage operation assembly. Similarly, when the linkage operation assembly is disassembled, only the drive rotary shaft needs to be rotated.
FALL RESTRAINT APPARATUS AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Disclosed herein is an apparatus for preventing a user from moving beyond a first distance from a support structure. The apparatus comprises an extension member, comprising a first end and a second end that is opposite the first end. The first end is configured to be fixed to the support structure. The second end is movable relative to the first end along a plane and the second end is configured to extend away from the first end to an extended position and retract from the extended position towards the first end to a retracted position. The apparatus also comprises a flexible tether, having a fixed length and comprising an anchor end, attached to the second end of the extension member, and a user end, configured to attach to a user. The extended position is no more than a second distance away from the first end. The sum of the fixed length and the second distance is less than the first distance.
Safety Line Apparatus
A safety line traveller (1) for a fall protection system has a first component (2) in sliding engagement with a safety line (40), and a second component (3) which hinders sliding contact of the traveller with the safety line (40). The first and second components (2,3) are normally held in a sliding configuration in which the second component (3) is spaced from the safety line (40) and the first component (2) provides sliding contact with the safety line. The first and second components (2,3) are reconfigurable to an alternative configuration in which the second component (3) engages with the safety line (40) in order to hinder sliding of the traveller (1) on the safety line (40).
Improved Fall Arrest System for a Person Climbing a Ladder
A fall-arrest system for a person climbing a ladder (7) affixed to or supported by a structure, comprises: an elongate track securable to the ladder (7) so as to lie adjacent to the intended route of a person climbing or descending the ladder; a sliding device (13) which in use is coupled to the elongate track and configured to be freely displaceable therealong when the person is climbing the ladder; and a safety line (12) extending from the sliding device (13) for attachment to a harness attachment point of a safety harness worn by the person climbing or descending the ladder, the sliding device (13) incorporating a locking mechanism configured to allow the sliding device (13) to freely slide along the elongate track during normal movement of the person connected thereto by the safety line and to automatically lock the sliding device (13) to the elongate track in the event of the person falling from said ladder. The fall-arrest system is characterised in that the elongate track comprises a flexible belt (8) configured to depend from an upper end of the ladder.
CONNECTION DEVICE WITH IMPROVED HANDLE
A connection device comprises a connector forming a ring with an open position and a closed position. A handle is fixed to the connector and has two extensions receiving a user's hands. The handle defines a tube extending in a first direction and a through hole arranged to pass through the tube perpendicularly to the first direction. A first end of a wire member forms a loop fixed to the connector in the tube. The second end of the wire member is fixed to the user. The connector passes through the through hole and the loop to fix the handle and the wire member to the connector.
