Self-retracting lanyard with fall protection harness tracker
A self-retracting lanyard including a main body and a retractable line. The retractable line is coupled to the main body so as to be extendible and retractable relative to the main body and to be restricted from extending relative to the main body in response to a user of the self-retracting lanyard falling. The self-retracting lanyard further includes a manual control operable by the user to initiate controlled descent of the retractable line relative to the main body. The manual control may be operable by the user to deliver a fluid (e.g. compressed gas) from a fluid supply disposed in a housing of the manual control to an actuator of the main body to initiate controlled descent. Solar panel(s) may be disposed on the main body. When the retractable line is retracted, the housing may dock with and be charged by a solar powered charger disposed on the main body.
FALL-PROTECTION APPARATUS WITH PROTECTIVE SHROUD AND WITH SLEEVE ASSEMBLY
A fall-protection apparatus with a movable protective shroud and with a sleeve assembly, the sleeve assembly including an informational sheet that is compactable and extendable.
Harness configurations for a suspension device
A harness system for harnessing a user to a suspension device. The harness comprises a strap system having a plurality of straps configured and operable to connect the suspension device to a back region of the harness, each strap having a back end portion at said back region and connectable to the suspension device, and a front end portion located in a front side of the harness. The straps extend from the back region to the front side of the harness and wrap around all sides of a torso of said user. A single connector assembly is used for quick connection of front end portions of at least some of the straps at the front side of the harness in a single interlocking operation, thereby to secure the harness to the user.
Tether system for a safety line
A tether system for a safety line has an elongate guide track and stay elements arranged to move along the guide track and be carried at spaced positions along the length of a tether line. The system is typically employed in a fall arrest or protection system mounted to a structure, having an ascent/descent ladder fixed to the structure, the system including a self-retracting safety line device including a safety line, mounted at height.
FALL CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING A MOVEMENT DURING FALL EVENT
A fall control system is described. The fall control system comprises an elongate guide rail extending along an axis, a trolley for moving along the elongate guide rail, a tether attached to the trolley at a first end, a second end of the tether for attaching to a user, and a speed control system for controlling a speed of the trolley along the elongate guide rail. The speed control system comprises one or more than one speed control track attached to the elongate guide rail and extending along the axis, a background speed controller coupled to the trolley and engaged with the one or more speed control track when the speed control system or the trolley is in a travelling orientation and controlling the speed of the trolley along the elongate guide rail to not exceeded a maximum walking speed. The speed control system also includes a speed controller coupled to the trolley and engagable with the one or more than one speed control track, the speed controller displaceable from a first position when the speed control system or the trolley is in the travelling orientation, and the speed controller is not engaged with the speed control track, to a second position when the speed control system or the trolley is in a falling orientation and the speed controller is engaged with the speed control track. The speed controller for controlling the speed of the trolley along the guide rail in the falling orientation to not exceed a maximum fall speed.
ROPE GUIDANCE FOR SECOND DEVICE USED ON DURAHOIST ARM
A line guidance device (40) is provided for use with a confined space entry/retrieval hoist and fall protection anchorage system (10) and includes a line guide (46) that guides a line from an extend/retract line device (22) past another extend/retract line device (20) with both devices (20, 22) mounted on a backside (24) of a mast (12) of the system (10).
ACTIVE TROLLEY SUPPORT SYSTEM
A trolley for use with a fall arrest system, the trolley providing active control of both downward movement of a body attached to a rope or cable and horizontal position along a track.
Two-Part Locking Polymer Hub for Cable Self-Retracting Device
Provided is a self-retracting device including a rotatable hub assembly. The rotatable hub assembly includes a first half and a second half. The first half includes a slot for an axle. The second half includes a retraction member and a slot for the axle. The self-retracting device also includes an axle with a body extending through the slot of the first half and the slot of the second half and a line. A first end of the line includes a loop, wherein the loop is between the first half and the second half and the axle body extends through an opening defined by the loop. The rotatable hub assembly is configured to retract the line when the rotatable hub assembly moves in the first rotational direction and pay out the line when the rotatable hub assembly moves in a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction.
FALL-PROTECTION APPARATUS WITH MULTIMODAL INDUCTIVE SENSING
A fall-protection apparatus comprising at least one connector that comprises a resonant-frequency-shifting inductive sensing unit that is configured to detect whether the connector appears to be connected to a first item and is further configured to detect whether the connector appears to be connected to a second, different item.
Safety device with fall arrest and descending modes
A safety device with fall arrest and descending modes includes a housing, a drum, a lifeline, first and second brake assemblies, and a control. The drum is rotatably operatively connected to the housing. The lifeline has an intermediate portion interconnecting a first end and a second end. The first end is operatively connected to the drum. The first and second assemblies are operatively connected to the drum. The control is operatively connected to the first and second brake assemblies and has a first position and a second position. The first position selectively engages the first brake assembly in a descending mode and the second position selectively engages the second brake assembly in a fall arrest mode.
