A wheel suspension includes an axle limb which supports a wheel. The axle limb includes a first steering axle which provides a first steering angle in a specified range for the wheel, and components for connecting the axle limb to a support structure. At least one of the components includes a second steering axle which is selectively releasable in order to provide a steering angle which is different than the first steering axle. The components for connecting the axle limb to the support structure form a McPherson suspension.

OFFSET TIE ROD JOINT
20220169308 · 2022-06-02 ·

An apparatus and a method are provided for an offset tie rod joint for vehicle steering systems. The offset tie rod joint comprises a ball rotatably retained within a casing that is disposed in an opening of an offset housing. A threaded shank fixedly coupled with the offset housing is received by a steering rod. The opening is displaced from a longitudinal axis of the threaded shank by a distance that provides clearance between the offset housing and a spindle assembly during articulation of the spindle assembly during steering. A rear backstop and a front snap-ring in a groove retain the casing within the opening. A bore extending through the ball receives a bolt that fixates the ball between parallel prongs of the spindle assembly. A misalignment spacer on each side of the ball provides clearance for rotation of the ball within the offset housing.

VEHICLE KNUCKLE

A vehicle knuckle (1) includes a main body portion (10) for supporting an axle, a strut connecting portion (11) for connecting a strut, and an arm portion (12) for connecting the main body portion (10) and the strut connecting portion (11) and having a space (18) inside. The arm portion (12) includes a sidewall portion (120) for connecting the main body portion (10) and the strut connecting portion (11), and has a first through hole (17a) communicating with the space (18), at a coupling portion (12a) with the main body portion (10). The sidewall portion (120) is free of a through hole communicating with the space (18).

STRUT SUSPENSION SYSTEM
20220153079 · 2022-05-19 ·

The present invention is directed to providing a strut suspension system configured to improve a steering property by reducing steering frictional resistance when a steering wheel is rotationally manipulated and having a relatively simple mechanical structure to reduce the number of components and manufacturing costs and to secure a large space for installing main components such as an engine and the like.

Disclosed is a strut suspension system configured to absorb impact and vibrations transferred to a vehicle body from a road surface through a wheel. The strut suspension system includes a strut provided between the vehicle body and the wheel and to which a knuckle arm connecting a steering system of a vehicle to the wheel is connected to be relatively rotatable when the steering system performs steering and a stabilizer link having one end connected to a stabilizer bar configured to increase roll rigidity of the vehicle body and the other end coupled to prevent the strut from rotating.
