Rooftop Rigging Support System
In at least one embodiment, a rooftop rigging support system mounts to a roof a building for suspending a load under an eave of the building. In some embodiments, the rooftop rigging support system comprises an arm that extends outward over the eave and then back inward underneath the eave. In some embodiments, the arm is a generally rigid, non-articulating structure. In some embodiments, the arm can be manually pivoted between a deployed position reaching under the eave and a withdrawn position extending above the roof.
Fall protection equipment having inductive sensor for connection status and control
Techniques are described for monitoring and controlling fall protection equipment. For example, the techniques of this disclosure may be used to monitor the connection status of fall protection equipment, e.g., whether or not the fall protection equipment is connected to a support structure. The techniques described in the disclosure may determine whether the fall protection equipment is connected to a support structure based on changes in a resonant frequency of an electronic circuit of an inductive sensor within the fall protection equipment. The inductive sensor may be formed from sets of one or more coils, where a first set of one or more coils and a second set of one or more coils are wound in opposite directions.
Cut-resistant leading edge fall arrest system and method
A fall arrest system includes a line retraction device having a safety line, an energy absorber configured for connecting to a terminal end of the safety line, and a harness configured for connecting to the energy absorber such that the energy absorber is disposed between the terminal end of the safety line and the harness. The safety line is selected to have a predetermined mean breaking force with a first standard deviation, and the energy absorber is selected to have a predetermined mean deployment force with a second standard deviation. The mean breaking force of the safety line and the mean deployment force of the energy absorber overlap over an overlapping region of the first and second standard deviation. A ratio of an overlap mean force of the overlapping region to an overlap standard deviation of the overlapping region is less than or equal to 6.
Cut-resistant leading edge fall arrest system and method
A fall arrest system includes a line retraction device having a safety line, an energy absorber configured for connecting to a terminal end of the safety line, and a harness configured for connecting to the energy absorber such that the energy absorber is disposed between the terminal end of the safety line and the harness. The safety line is selected to have a predetermined mean breaking force with a first standard deviation, and the energy absorber is selected to have a predetermined mean deployment force with a second standard deviation. The mean breaking force of the safety line and the mean deployment force of the energy absorber overlap over an overlapping region of the first and second standard deviation. A ratio of an overlap mean force of the overlapping region to an overlap standard deviation of the overlapping region is less than or equal to 6.
Fall arrest connector
A fall arrest connector is used to connect at least a safety belt with a snap hook and a wearable harness for a user to wear. The fall arrest connector includes a retaining ring, a buckle ring, and a breakable connection. The retaining ring, including the first connecting portion, is connected to the wearable harness. The buckle ring, including the second connecting portion, is hooked by the snap hook. The breakable connection connects the second connecting portion and the first connecting portion. When the retaining ring or the buckle ring is pulled by a predetermined external force, the breakable connection is broken to separate the first and the second connecting portion. The retaining ring and the buckle ring could respectively be connected to the substitute protection device, which could provide the user an instant protection when the first connecting portion and the second connecting portion are separated.
Fall arrest connector
A fall arrest connector is used to connect at least a safety belt with a snap hook and a wearable harness for a user to wear. The fall arrest connector includes a retaining ring, a buckle ring, and a breakable connection. The retaining ring, including the first connecting portion, is connected to the wearable harness. The buckle ring, including the second connecting portion, is hooked by the snap hook. The breakable connection connects the second connecting portion and the first connecting portion. When the retaining ring or the buckle ring is pulled by a predetermined external force, the breakable connection is broken to separate the first and the second connecting portion. The retaining ring and the buckle ring could respectively be connected to the substitute protection device, which could provide the user an instant protection when the first connecting portion and the second connecting portion are separated.
CABLE SLEEVE
A cable sleeve comprises a housing, a locking cam, and a locking pawl. The housing has an elongate member passage configured to slidably receive an elongate member and has a cavity. The locking cam and the locking pawl are pivotally connected to the housing within the cavity. The locking cam has a radial edge with a constant radius relative to a pivot connection between the locking cam and the housing and is configured to move from a first cam position to a second cam position configured to engage the elongate member in the elongate member passage with the radial edge. The locking pawl is configured to move from a first pawl position to a second pawl position configured to move the locking cam into the second cam position to engage the elongate member.
CABLE SLEEVE
A cable sleeve comprises a housing, a locking cam, and a locking pawl. The housing has an elongate member passage configured to slidably receive an elongate member and has a cavity. The locking cam and the locking pawl are pivotally connected to the housing within the cavity. The locking cam has a radial edge with a constant radius relative to a pivot connection between the locking cam and the housing and is configured to move from a first cam position to a second cam position configured to engage the elongate member in the elongate member passage with the radial edge. The locking pawl is configured to move from a first pawl position to a second pawl position configured to move the locking cam into the second cam position to engage the elongate member.
Support harness with shock reducing elements
A support harness with shock reducing elements includes a saddle with a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. A pair of bridge connectors is attached to and extends outwardly from the saddle. The first and second lateral edges each has one of the bridge connectors positioned adjacent thereto. The bridge connectors each include a first strap section secured to the saddle adjacent to an upper edge thereof, a second strap section secured to the saddle adjacent to a lower edge thereof, and a central strap section extending between the first and second strap sections. The first strap section includes a plurality folds therein. A break-away fastener extends through the folds and breaks to release the plurality of folds when a predetermined amount of force is placed on the first strap.
Support harness with shock reducing elements
A support harness with shock reducing elements includes a saddle with a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. A pair of bridge connectors is attached to and extends outwardly from the saddle. The first and second lateral edges each has one of the bridge connectors positioned adjacent thereto. The bridge connectors each include a first strap section secured to the saddle adjacent to an upper edge thereof, a second strap section secured to the saddle adjacent to a lower edge thereof, and a central strap section extending between the first and second strap sections. The first strap section includes a plurality folds therein. A break-away fastener extends through the folds and breaks to release the plurality of folds when a predetermined amount of force is placed on the first strap.
