Ride-on toy vehicle configured to tilt and drift

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a battery powered ride-on toy vehicle. The ride-on vehicle includes a main body, a front wheel assembly, and a steering assembly. The front wheel assembly is angularly offset from the main body so that steering the vehicle into a turn with the steering assembly creates a camber angle in the wheels of the front wheel assembly and tilts the main body into a turn. The ride-on vehicle may also include a rear wheel assembly and a drive assembly configured to drive any wheels included in the front wheel assembly and the rear assembly. The toy vehicle can also drift through turns while tilting into the turn.

The invention likewise relates to an electric vehicle comprising said chassis.

TRAVELING VEHICLE

A traveling vehicle includes a vehicle body, a left swing part, a right swing part, a holding body, and a suspension device. The left swing part rotatably supports a left front wheel. The right swing part rotatably supports a right front wheel. The left swing part and the right swing part are supported on the vehicle body. The holding body for supporting the suspension device is formed in a U-shape so as to sandwich the suspension device in a front-back direction. A support shaft provided in the suspension device is supported on the holding body on both sides in the front-back direction. The suspension device is rotatable about the support shaft. The suspension device is arranged at a position higher than the left swing part and the right swing part, and extends and contracts in conjunction with swings of the left swing part and the right swing part.

TRAVELING VEHICLE

A traveling vehicle includes a vehicle body, a left swing part, a right swing part, and an interlocking link mechanism. The left swing part and the right swing part are supported on the vehicle body so as to be swingable in the up-down direction, respectively. A left support part supporting a left front wheel is provided on a front part of the left swing part so as to be rotatable about a left steering shaft. A right support part supporting a right front wheel is provided at a front part of the right swing part so as to be rotatable about a right steering shaft. The interlocking link mechanism rotates one of the left support part and the right support part in conjunction with the other. The interlocking link mechanism is provided between the left support part and the right support part.

A vehicle includes: a vehicle body; one or more turn wheels turnable to right and left; turn wheel support unit; and controller. The turn wheel support unit includes: a supporting member that rotatably supports the one or more turn wheels; and a turning actuator configured to apply a turning torque to the supporting member. The controller is configured to determine a target lean angle, determine a first type control value by using a difference between the target lean angle and a lean angle, and determine the target turning torque by using one or more control values including the first type control value. Where the first type control value indicates a torque that causes the supporting member to turn in a direction opposite to a target direction that is a rotational direction to rotate the vehicle body in its width direction so that the lean angle approaches the target lean angle.

Modular reconfigurable vehicle frame system

A modular, reconfigurable frame that can be combined into multiple standardized segments to create different core vehicle configurations is described herein. The frame includes a plurality of components that affix together universally to make multiple versions of cycle, vehicle, and airframe styles. The reconfigurable frame includes a quick pin and fastener that allows for transportation platforms to be incorporated into the frame in a modular fashion.

COUPLING MECHANISM FOR A VEHICLE BODY

A coupling mechanism for a vehicle body having mutually pivotable first and second frames comprises an axle fixed to the first frame, a rotating member fixed to the second frame and rotatably mounted around the axle, and a torsional resistance module that is actuated when the axle and the rotating member rotate relative to each other. The torsional resistance module includes two force magnifying mechanisms connected between the first frame and the rotating member. A buffering member is disposed between the force magnifying mechanisms. When the buffering member is pressed, a relative torsional resistance is provided between the first and second frames through transmission of the force magnifying mechanisms. The torsional resistance has a non-linear relationship with a relative rotational angle between the first and second frames.

IN-VEHICLE STABLE PLATFORM SYSTEM EMPLOYING ACTIVE SUSPENSION AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

An in-vehicle stable platform system employing active suspension and a control method thereof is provided. The system includes a vehicle body, an in-vehicle stable platform, an inertial measurement device, an electronic control device, a servo controller set, multiple wheels, and suspension servo actuation cylinders and displacement sensors respectively corresponding to the wheels. The wheels are divided into three groups, which form three support points. The heights of the three support points are controlled to control orientation of the vehicle body. An amount of extension/retraction of the suspension servo actuation cylinders required to cause the in-vehicle stable platform to return to a horizontal level is calculated according to a measured pitch angle and a roll angle of the in-vehicle stable platform, and when a vehicle travels on an uneven road, the extension/retraction of each suspension servo actuation cylinder is controlled to cause the in-vehicle stable platform to be horizontal.
