Motion control system with electropermanent magnets
A motion control system that can detect a change in a an operating characteristic and send a stabilizing command to an actuator system based on the change is described. A motion control component in the system includes a first component with an electropermanent magnet having a coil, differing first and second permanent magnet materials, and differing first and second states. The motion control component includes a second component configured to magnetically interact with the first component to define a damping characteristic that affects motion between the first component and the second component and a controller configured to supply a current pulse to the electropermanent magnet to switch the electropermanent magnet between the first and second states. The electropermanent magnet retains the respective first or second state after cessation of the current pulse.
Electrically powered suspension system
An electrically powered suspension system includes: an actuator that is provided between a vehicle body and a wheel of a vehicle and generates a load for damping vibration of the vehicle body; an information acquisition part that acquires information on a sprung state amount and a road surface state; a target load calculation part that calculates a first target load related to skyhook control based on the sprung state amount and calculates a second target load related to preview control based on the road surface state; and a load control part. The target load calculation part calculates a third target load related to pitch generation control based on a target pitch angle and calculates a combined target load into which the first target load, second target load, and third target load have been combined. The load control part performs load control of the actuator using the combined target load.
CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
A control device for a vehicle includes: a carrier installed on the vehicle and on which an occupant or an object to be conveyed is placed; an active suspension disposed between the carrier and the vehicle body and capable of controlling a force that acts between the carrier and the vehicle body; a road surface information obtaining device configured to obtain road surface information that is information on a displacement in an up-down direction of a road surface on which a predetermined subject wheel is scheduled to travel; and a controller configured to control the active suspension. The controller calculates a vibration state of the vehicle body based on the road surface information, calculates, based on the vibration state, a corresponding-position state amount indicating the vibration state of a portion of the vehicle body corresponding to the carrier, and controls the active suspension based on the corresponding-position state amount.
Distributed active suspension with an electrically driven pump and valve controlled hydraulic pump bypass flow path
A regenerative shock absorber that include a housing and a piston that moves at least partially through the housing when the shock is compressed or extended from a rest position. When the piston moves, hydraulic fluid is pressurized and drives a hydraulic motor. The hydraulic motor, in turn, drives an electric generator that produced electric energy. The electric energy may be provided to a vehicle, among other things. The regenerative shock absorber may also provide ride performance that comparable to or exceeds that of conventional shock absorbers.
Sensor linked suspension
Systems and method are provided for adjusting a sensor of a vehicle having a suspension. In one example, a method for adjusting a sensor of a vehicle having a suspension system includes obtaining sensor data pertaining to a sensor of the vehicle; determining, via a processor, when the sensor is out of alignment, using the sensor data; and adjusting the suspension system, resulting in an adjustment of the alignment of the sensor, when the sensor is determined to be out of alignment.
Method for ascertaining vehicle characteristic variables
A method for determining vehicle characteristic variables of a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle has active dampers which can set adjusting forces at the respective wheel suspensions in order to be able to raise and/or lower the body of the motor vehicle and which can also measure the acting forces. Specific predefined adjusting forces of the active dampers are imparted in order to ascertain vehicle characteristic variables from the resulting adjustment and the resulting measured forces.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR INFLUENCING A DYNAMIC PROPERTY OF AT LEAST ONE MOVABLY MOUNTED BODY AND USE THEREOF AS A VARIABLY ADJUSTABLE DAMPING ELEMENT
A device and a method for influencing a dynamic property of at least one movably mounted body of two bodies coupled mechanically at least via a variably adjustable stiffness along a first force path. The invention includes a damping element with constant damping properties directly or indirectly coupled in series with the variably adjustable stiffness along the first force path Both bodies are mechanically directly or indirectly coupled via a second force path running parallel to the first force path along which at least one adjustable stiffness is incorporated. The damping property of the damping element and the adjustable stiffnesses are coordinated and configured so that a damping property assigned to the device for mechanical coupling can be varied exclusively by the adjustable stiffnesses.
