Systems and methods for determining vehicle characteristics
A vehicle includes a sprung mass including a cabin coupled to a chassis, tractive assemblies each including at least one tractive element, springs coupling the tractive elements to the sprung mass, each spring imparting an upward force on the sprung mass, load sensors each configured to provide a signal indicative of the force imparted by one of the springs, and a controller operatively coupled to the load sensors. The controller is configured to determine a weight of the sprung mass using the signals from the load sensors and monitor at least one operational condition of the vehicle. The controller is configured to determine whether or not to disable determination of the weight based on the at least one operational condition.

VEHICLE MOTION CONTROL APPRATUS
In a vehicle, GV control and M+ control are executed by generating braking/driving forces from a brake hydraulic pressure control device and a drive device during steering. A controller estimates (calculates), by a posture estimation unit, a pitch amount and a roll amount (predicted pitch rate and predicted roll rate) that occur in the vehicle through use of a moment command of the M+ control and a longitudinal G command of the GV control. The controller adjusts damping forces of damping force variable dampers through use of the estimated pitch amount and the estimated roll amount (predicted pitch rate and predicted roll rate) so that a pitch amount calculated by a pitch control unit and a roll amount calculated by a roll suppression unit approach respective target values.
Method of operating an adjustable roll stabilizer
A method of operating an adjustable roll stabilizer (1) of a motor vehicle. The adjustable roll stabilizer (1) has an actuator (2) which can be rotated through a system angle (α) relative to a rotational axis (3) in order to twist two stabilizer sections (6a, 6b), connected thereto, relative to one another. The stabilizer sections (6a, 6b) are each a radial spaced away from the rotational axis (3) and each is coupled to a wheel suspension (7a, 7b, 8a, 8b, 9a, 9b). The method includes controlling the actuator with a field-orientated regulator (20) as a function of input signals which include at least a target motor torque (21), and checking the control of the actuator (2), brought about by the field-orientated regulator (20), for plausibility independently of the field-orientated regulator (20).
LOAD DETECTION DEVICE
Disclosed is a load detection device and method using the same. In one example, the device includes a height-level measuring unit configured to determine a height level of a vehicle and to generate at least one height-level signal that characterizes the height level. A position-measuring unit is configured to determine the position of the vehicle relative to the mid-point of the earth and to generate at least one position signal that characterizes the vehicle position. An evaluation unit is coupled to the height-level measuring unit and to the position-measuring unit. The evaluation unit is configured to determine a mass of a load of the vehicle, taking into account the height-level signal(s) and the position signal(s). The device can be used to determine the mass of the load, which may include a number of persons.
Adjustable suspension mount assembly
An adjustable suspension mount assembly includes a bracket coupled to a suspension mounting component and coupled to a frame component of the vehicle. The assembly also includes a vertical adjustment assembly operatively coupled to the bracket. The assembly further includes an electric motor operatively coupled to the vertical adjustment assembly to adjust the vertical position of the bracket.

A vehicle height adjustment system includes: a cylinder housing part having an inner space configured to receive working fluid; a piston part positioned in the cylinder housing part, the piston part configured to move linearly, in response to a working fluid, in a moving direction along the cylinder housing part; and a rotation suppressing bracket coupled to the cylinder housing part and connected to a side surface of the piston part, the rotation suppressing bracket configured to suppress rotational movement with respect to the moving direction of the piston part.

An air spring suspension system includes a first air spring that has a first volume with a first pressure that is configured to provide a first spring stiffness to a first suspension assembly. A second air spring has a housing with a second volume with a second pressure that is configured to provide a second spring stiffness to a second suspension assembly. The second air spring includes a piston that is arranged in the second volume. One of the housing and the piston includes a first mounting structure that is configured to connect to a vehicle chassis. Another of the housing and the piston includes a second mounting structure that is configured to connect to the second suspension assembly. The second air spring also includes a fluid connection on the housing. The second air spring further includes a crosslink valve that is disposed in the housing and movable between open and closed positions. The crosslink valve is configured to selectively fluidly connect the second volume to the fluid connection. A crosslink line is fluidly connected to the first volume of the first air spring and the fluid connection on the second air spring. A controller is in communication with the crosslink valve. The controller is configured to command the crosslink valve between the open and closed positions in response to an input.
