METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MINIMIZING THE RISK OF FIRE AND USE OF A DEVICE SUITABLE THEREFOR

A device for minimizing the risk of fire in weed control applications, provides that arcs are detected by analyzing characteristic partial discharge or current and voltage values, which are prevented by round, channel-less geometries, the use of a depth electrode or the use of high ground contact pressures, which are extinguished by extinguishing mats or liquid spraying on the treated and/or surrounding surface before, during or after the high voltage treatment.

Wildfire Suppression Assembly
20220370842 · 2022-11-24 ·

A wildfire suppression assembly for inhibiting the development of wildfires includes a tower that is located in a remote location and an arm that is pivotally coupled to the tower. A pump is integrated into the tower and the pump is fluidly coupled to a supply pipe to receive water from a below ground water supply. A spray pipe is coupled to the arm and the spray pipe is in fluid communication with the supply pipe to receive the water urged by the pump when the pump is turned on. A spray nozzle is fluidly coupled to the spray pipe to spray the water onto the remote location. In this way the spray nozzle inhibits the development of wildfires by keeping the moisture content of the remote location above a wildfire threshold.

Fire protection system

A fire protection system that includes a fluid supply and a fluid delivery apparatus. The fluid delivery apparatus receives fluid from the fluid supply and delivers a protectant solution to a building to prevent the building from catching fire. The fluid delivery apparatus includes an expansion chamber having an inlet for receiving fluid from the fluid supply, and an outlet where the protectant solution exits the expansion chamber. The fluid delivery apparatus also includes a resource line in fluid communication with the expansion chamber to provide a flame resistant substance to the expansion chamber from a reservoir. Further, the fluid delivery apparatus includes a vent line in fluid communication with the reservoir and the expansion chamber, a pressure difference between the vent line and the resource line causes the fluid in the vent line to push the flame resistant substance from the reservoir to the expansion chamber via the resource line. A method of installing the fire protection system on a building. The fluid delivery apparatus of the fire protection system can be provided to receive fluid from the fluid supply and positioned adjacent to desirous parts of the building to deliver a protectant solution from the fluid delivery apparatus to the building.

According to some examples of the presently disclosed subject matter there is provided a system and method for deploying a plurality of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by an airborne carrier aircraft for dispersing payload material, each UAV comprising at least one container containing payload material and being configured to disperse the payload material at a designated dispersion area in an event site.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE DRONE
20220348328 · 2022-11-03 ·

A firefighting aerial vessel that can coordinate with other firefighting aerial vessels to extinguish fires. The vessel has a body with a bottom container providing a volume for extinguishing substances that are fluidly coupled to spray units supported by the exterior of the body. The plurality of propulsion units of each vessel may be rotatably to the body of the vessel so that the vessel can move and rotate about the x, y, and/or z-axis. The vessel can form specific formation with other vessels in a coordinated manner by way of communication and positioning systems, so that the formation can surround and thwart fires.

DELUGE SYSTEM
20220347502 · 2022-11-03 · ·

A method of providing a deluge system (10) on a boom (12) such as a boom that is used to conduct well flaring operations at an end thereof. The deluge system comprises a base unit (30), a stanchion (20), and a nozzle apparatus (22); the method comprising attaching the deluge system to a burner boom with a walkway, such that there remains a width of at least 30 cm clear passage on the boom's walkway after the deluge system has been attached. This provides an escape and/or rescue route for personnel should a dangerous situation occur, such as uncontrolled fire or personnel falling overboard. In preferred embodiments, the deluge system is attached to the boom outboard of handrail supports (which includes on a single handrail). The deluge system may have its own mechanism e.g. a winch, for moving the stanchion from a stowed position to an operative position which allows a safe and more optimum positioning of the stanchion away from the well flaring operation, as herein described. In a preferred embodiment, the stanchion is provided as part of a moveable member which is rotationally attached to a connection mechanism of the base unit at a connection point spaced away from an end of the moveable member. This allows the moveable member to have a counter weight system and reduces the amount of force required to move the moveable member, avoiding mechanical constraints.

Aerial Firefighting Dump Gate System
20230038453 · 2023-02-09 ·

A dump gate system for a fluid hopper in a firefighting aircraft. A gate sealably engages a gate opening in the hopper at a closed position. The gate is hingedly connected about the gate opening, and a drive shaft is supported within the hopper. A crank arm is fixed to the drive shaft and is further coupled to the gate by a connecting link. The crank arm and the connecting link define an over-center geometry while the gate is at the closed position, such that weight of the fluid on the gate induces torque on the drive shaft in a gate-closing direction. An electric motor is selectively coupled to rotate the drive shaft in a gate-opening direction to thereby enable control of the fluid flow from the hopper according to an angular position of the drive shaft.
