ADJUSTABLE INTERNAL BYPASS
A vehicle suspension damper includes: a cylinder and a piston assembly, wherein the piston assembly includes a piston; a working fluid within the cylinder; a bypass cylinder surrounding the cylinder and defining a cylindrical bypass channel; an adjustable bypass port fluidly coupling an interior of the cylinder and the cylindrical bypass channel; and a remotely operable bypass valve slidably disposed within the cylindrical bypass channel, the remotely operable bypass valve configured for, upon actuation of an actuator coupled with the remotely operable bypass valve, adjusting a flow of the working fluid through the adjustable bypass port.
Shock absorbers
A shock absorber system can includes a shock tube and a piston slidably mated to an end of the shock tube. The system can include a first mount on the piston for attaching to a first point on a motor vehicle. A second mount can be positioned on the shock tube near an end of the shock tube opposite the piston. The second mount can be positioned offset from an axial centerline of the shock tube. In some cases, the system can include a stabilizing device connected to the second mount. The system can include a heat sink reservoir. The heat sink reservoir can be connected to the shock tube via a valved fluid connection.
ADJUSTABLE BLOW-OFF SUSPENSION
Altering the damping rate of a vehicle suspension damper. A pressure of a damping fluid is exerted against a second valve mechanism connected to the vehicle suspension damper. The pressure of the damping fluid is increased beyond a threshold of the second valve mechanism that is adjustable by an adjustment member. The adjustment member is exposed through a high pressure side of the vehicle suspension damper. The second valve mechanism is then opened.
SHOCK ABSORBER
A shock absorber includes: a damping valve that suppresses a flow of operating fluid due to the sliding of a piston to generate damping force; a bottomed tubular pilot case that forms a pilot chamber that causes pressure to act on the damping valve in a valve closing direction, together with the damping valve; and an annular seal member (146) that is provided to be fixed to the outer circumferential side of a rear surface of the damping valve, and is fitted into a tube of the pilot case so as to be slidable and to be in a liquid tight manner. A part of the flow of the operating fluid is guided to the pilot chamber and opening of the damping valve is suppressed by the pressure of the pilot chamber. An annular concave portion (380) is formed on the outer circumferential side of the seal member (146), and an annular convex portion (385) is formed on the inner circumferential side of the seal member (146).
Hydraulic energy transfer
A regenerative shock absorber that include a housing and a piston that moves at least partially through the housing when the shock is compressed or extended from a rest position. When the piston moves, hydraulic fluid is pressurized and drives a hydraulic motor. The hydraulic motor, in turn, drives an electric generator that produced electric energy. The electric enemy may be provided to a vehicle, among other things. The regenerative shock absorber may also provide ride performance that comparable to or exceeds that of conventional shock absorbers.
High stroke efficiency hydraulic bump stop
Disclosed herein is a hydraulic jounce bouncer comprising a damper body, a shaft telescopically engaged with the damper body, a piston slidably disposed within the damper body and threadedly coupled to a first end of the shaft, wherein the piston has at least one compression port therethrough, and a negative spring disposed between the shaft and the damper body.
DAMPER CONTROL DEVICE
A damper control device feeds back a pressure within an extension-side chamber to control an extension-side solenoid valve that adjusts the pressure within the extension-side chamber, and feeds back a pressure within a compression-side chamber to control a compression-side solenoid valve that adjusts the pressure within the compression-side chamber. The damper control device performs a compression-side reduction correction which reduces a compression-side current supplied to the compression-side solenoid valve during extension of a damper, and performs an extension-side reduction correction which reduces an extension-side current supplied to the extension-side solenoid valve during contraction of the damper.
Active Damper System for a Vehicle
An active damper system is provided for a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle. It includes a damper unit with a cylinder, a piston which is guided in the cylinder, and a piston rod which is connected to the piston. The piston divides the cylinder into a first chamber and a second chamber, and the damper unit is designed to be arranged between a body and a wheel of the vehicle. The damper system also has a pump for changing the pressure in the two chambers and for moving the piston, a first valve, a second valve, which is connected to the first valve in series, a third valve, and a fourth valve, which is connected to the third valve in series. The first and second valve are connected in parallel to the third and fourth valve. A fluid-conductive first line leads to the first chamber between the first valve and the second valve, and a fluid-conductive second line leads to the second chamber between the third valve and the fourth valve. A low-pressure side of the pump is connected between the first valve and the fourth valve, and a pressure side of the pump is connected between the second valve and the third valve. The first valve, the second valve, the third valve, and the fourth valve can be switched in order to selectively block and release the flow of fluid. A control unit is provided for switching the four valves such that the pump rotates in the same direction when compressing and rebounding during an electromotor operation and a generator operation.
PRESSURE DAMPING DEVICE
A pressure damping device includes a cylinder, a partitioning section, a flow channel formation section, a valve section a bypass channel and a throttle section. The flow channel formation section forms a flow channel, through which the fluid flows, in conjunction with a movement of the partitioning section. The valve section controls a flow of the fluid in the flow channel of the flow channel formation section. The bypass channel forms a flow of the fluid that bypasses the flow of the fluid flowing through the flow channel while opening the valve section. The throttle section that throttles the flow of the fluid through the bypass channel further on an outer side than the valve section with respect to the flow channel formation section.
DAMPER VALVE AND VIBRATION DAMPER
