Ambient mist sprinkler head
10933265 · 2021-03-02 ·

Disclosed herein is an Ambient Mist Sprinkler head for extinguishing fires that comprises a plurality of mist nozzles attached to a head. The Ambient Mist nozzles are arranged spatially on the head at various angles. The number of mist nozzles, the spatial arrangement and the angular placement of the mist nozzles can vary, depending on the area of coverage required. The angular placement of the mist nozzles on the head is effected so that the mist nozzles stream emerging from one mist nozzle does not impinge on a mist stream emerging from another mist nozzle while providing a maximal amount of mist production, and minimizes the occurrence of streams of water droplets. The present invention relates to Ambient Mist Technology and relates to tools that employ Ambient Technology in combating fire, smoke and airborne pollutants. They do not require gravity to work and can be used at any angle required.

SYSTEM, APPARATUS & METHOD FOR ARRESTING PROPAGATION OF A DEFLAGRATION IN A CLEAN AIR RETURN DUCT OF AN AIR-MATERIAL SEPARATOR

Disclosed herein are a system, method, and apparatus for arresting flames in an air return line. The apparatus includes a flame barrier containing one or more metal mesh layers and configured to permit airflow there through while preventing flame break-through. The flame barrier can also have or be connected to one or more temperature or pressure sensors configured to detect blockage of airflow through the flame barrier and to detect damage to the flame barrier. The apparatus can also include additional temperature or pressure sensors for detecting the propagation of deflagration in the air return line.

Method and System for Prediction and Mitigation of Spontaneous Combustion in Coal Stock Piles

A method for predicting conditions associated with a coal stock pile is described. The method includes collecting aerial data for a site including one or more coal stock piles. Using the aerial data, the method includes performing localization of the site to identify boundaries of the coal stock piles and extracting multi-spectral features. The method also includes obtaining additional data associated with the coal stock piles from at least one data source and merging the aerial data with the additional data. Using the merged data and the extracted multi-spectral features, the method includes analyzing a status of the coal stock piles by a prediction module to predict at least one of an impending combustion event or a severe condition associated with the coal stock piles. In response to the predicted at least one impending combustion event or severe condition, the method includes implementing a response.

Triggering device of an extinguishing system

Various aspects of the invention are directed to a triggering device for a quickly triggering extinguishing system for explosion suppression. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the triggering device may include a pawl body having a pawl flank, a catch, at least one electromagnet to transmit an electromagnetic field, and a sliding pin. The sliding pin triggers an extinguishing system for explosion suppression by movement from a blocking position into a release position. In the blocking position, the sliding pin is pushed against the pawl flank of the pawl body by means of the catch and is held in the blocking position by said pawl flank. The pawl body releases the engagement of the catch and the pawl flank, and thereby releases the sliding pin, in response to the at least one electromagnet exerting the electromagnetic field on the pawl body.
