FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR A FIRE APPARATUS
20220072354 · 2022-03-10 · ·

A fluid system includes a ratio controller. The ratio controller includes a housing, a nozzle, and a diffuser. The housing defines a mixing chamber, a first inlet positioned at a first end of the mixing chamber, an outlet positioned at an opposing second end of the mixing chamber, and a second inlet positioned at a location around a periphery of the mixing chamber between the first inlet and the outlet. The first fluid is configured to receive a first fluid input. The second inlet is configured to receive a second fluid input. The nozzle includes a nozzle inlet positioned proximate the first inlet and a nozzle outlet positioned within the mixing chamber. The diffuser extends from the outlet and outward from the housing. The diffuser includes a diffuser inlet positioned within the mixing chamber.

METHOD AND LIQUID MIXING SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING A LIQUID MIXTURE
20220072351 · 2022-03-10 ·

A method as well as a liquid mixing system for providing a liquid mixture of water with at least one additive. The liquid mixing system comprises a first water reservoir, a first additive reservoir, a mixing unit, a conveying device and a line network. At least one first measurement value of the flow of the first additive conveyed to a mixing device is determined by an additive flowmeter. The total stream of the liquid mixture conveyed by the conveying device is measured by a liquid mixture flowmeter. The determined measurement values are transmitted to a control device, and from there passed on to a data storage device where they are stored.

SYSTEM FOR FORMING AND DELIVERING FLUIDS IN GEL FORM BY MEANS OF A LANCE WITH A VENTURI DEVICE
20210268321 · 2021-09-02 ·

A system that allows a gel to be formed by mixing the solid precursor of the gel and water and spraying same onto surfaces is provided. The system includes: a conveyor for the added gelling agent or solid; a pair of openings on the sides of the conveyor tube; a dosing device located after the openings, which distributes the amount of solid added to the conveyor; a Venturi shut-off valve; a mains connection which allows water to enter the system when the water shut-off valve is opened; a Venturi inlet pipe which connects to the Venturi chamber through which the water passes; a Venturi outlet pipe through which the water passes with the solid; and a lance for discharging the gel produced by mixing the water and the solid.

On-board mixing system for firefighting chemicals

A system for mixing fire-suppressant gel with water on board an aircraft includes a gel reservoir mounted in the aircraft, a pump for injecting gel into a flow of water into an aircraft-mounted payload tank, and a control system for controlling gel-water mix ratios. The control system monitors water volume flowing into the water tank, and regulates the gel pump to inject gel in appropriate amounts to produce gel-water emulsions having precise gel-water ratios. Settings for the control system are set by the pilot before water flow water is initiated. Once the aircraft is in flight, the gel-water mixing process is automatically controlled through a trigger on the pilot's control stick. The aircraft may be a helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft adapted to load water from a lake or other source while in flight, or a fixed-wing aircraft adapted to load water on land from a pressurized water source.

Fire retardant proportioning system and apparatus

Fire fighting apparatus using a single pressurizing pump and an improved eductor venturi to enable the in-line eduction of a long term fire retardant concentrate into a pressurized diluting water flow stream downstream of the water pressurizing pump so that the resulting mixture of water and liquid concentrate is accurately proportioned to meet a specification dictated by the concentrate vendor and is thus instantly available for application to fire threatened structures and vegetation.

USING A CHEMICAL INJECTION SYSTEM FOR PROCARE PROFESSIONAL SPRAY EQUIPMENT
20230405535 · 2023-12-21 ·

A chemical injection system. The chemical injection system includes at least two Venturi injectors in parallel. Each of the Venturi injectors having an injector housing with a longitudinal cavity having the shape of hourglass. One end of the longitudinal cavity forms an injector inlet, and the other end forms an injector outlet. Each of the injector housings also has a first vertical cavity forming an injector port located at the hourglass constriction. The injector inlets are fluidly coupled together to form a shared injector input and each of the injector ports is fluidly coupled to an individual valve. Each of the injector outlets is fluidly coupled to the input a separate T-filter and the outputs of the T-filters are fluidly coupled together to form shared T-filter output.

Firefighting polymer gel preparation onboard aircraft

A tank on a firefighting aircraft initially is loaded with water. A polymer gel emulsion vessel is provided on the aircraft, but is not activated and mixed with tank water until such polymer gel preparation is initiated by an operator. When initiated, a pump pulls water from the tank and doses it with gel emulsion. Double elbows and/or the pump impeller fully activates the polymer gel. The activated polymer gel is mixed within the tank by one of a variety of systems including mixing paddles or sparging with gas. In one embodiment, a hollow tower of telescoping form has a float to keep an upper end near a surface in the tank and a sparging gas entry is a controlled distance below the surface, such that gas of limited pressure, such as from a ram air inlet can sparge and mix the water and activated polymer gel emulsion effectively.
