The safety system incorporates an audio alert, a visual alert, and a mechanism to send a distress signal or call to emergency services after two minutes after the car engine is turned off and the child is not removed from the car. An open-source Firmware code was used to control thermoelectric cooling via Arduino and an Android software code for emergency calls.

System and method for refrigerant management in an electric vehicle

A refrigerant management system in a heat flux management system for an electric vehicle and a method of refrigerant management is provided. The system includes a vehicle air conditioning circuit including a heat pump circuit and a refrigeration cycle refrigerant circuit, the air conditioning circuit including a heat pump condenser in thermal communication with a heat source, a refrigerant evaporator in thermal communication with the heat source, an evaporator associated with an expansion valve, and a refrigerant compressor where the components are fluidly connected to one another by a refrigerant line. An accumulator is fluidly coupled in the refrigerant line downstream of the heat pump condenser, the refrigerant evaporator and evaporator and upstream of the refrigerant compressor, and the air conditioning circuit is switchable between a heating mode and a cooling mode in which the refrigerant circuit is in fluid communication with the compressor by actuation of at least one valve.

Thermal Control System

A thermal control system for use in an electric vehicle includes a reservoir in fluid communication with a first loop having a first loop component and a second loop having a second loop component. First and second pumps are operable to circulate a liquid coolant to the first loop and the second loop, respectively. A first valve, a second valve, and a third valve are moved between alternate liquid coolant flow positions by a vehicle control unit to selectively change the first and second loops from a parallel orientation to a series orientation providing alternate methods to reclaim or exhaust excess heat generated by the first loop component or to provide redundancy in order to maintain operation of the first loop and the second loop in the event of a failure of the first pump or the second pump.

The method further includes training a machine learning model with the warrantee data and/or service records for the transport temperature control systems, and at least one of the operational parameters of the transport temperature control systems or the control parameters of the transport temperature control systems. Also the method includes deploying the trained machine learning model. The method further includes predicting the impending climate control failure for the TCCS based on the trained machine learning model, operational parameters of the TCCS, and/or control parameters of the TCCS.
