An apparatus for containing fires including a fire containment pouch that includes an upper portion and a lower portion, the fire containment pouch is a flame-resistant material. The upper portion includes a pouch section that is coated with an intumescent material and the lower portion including a cuff section. The upper portion and the lower portion juxtaposed one against each other to define an outer containment portion of elongate length from a top of the pouch section and a bottom of the cuff section. The fire containment pouch is adaptable to be pulled inside out thereby transforming the outer containment portion to an inner containment portion and a fastener secured to the bottom of the cuff section to seal an object within the inner containment portion after the fire containment pouch has been pulled inside out.

Disclosed is a device for protecting a user from smoke or fire, including a sealed dome-like cover. An opening provided in the cover front portion enables emergency oxygen to force smoke present under the cover to be expelled by positive air pressure through a space below the waist. A step of vacuum sealing for a predetermined amount of time ensures malleability of the compact device for enhanced lumbar support and device longevity.

A method is provided for forming a flexible fire-resistant and thermal resistant sheet product. Such a method comprises securing a first insulation material sheet to a first cover sheet to form a first sheet product portion including a perimeter; securing a second insulation material sheet to a second cover sheet to form a second sheet product portion including a perimeter; and securing the first sheet product portion to the second sheet product portion, at least about the perimeters thereof and such that the first insulation material sheet is disposed adjacent to the second insulation material sheet, to form the sheet product. Various examples of a motorcycle cover are provided. The cover can include a main body comprising a one or more layered material. The one or more layered material can include a flame resistant material, a heat reflective material, and a heat resistant material. The cover can also include one or more regions connected to and/or within the main body. The one or more regions can be configured to hold a stabilizing material to increase stability of the cover. The cover can be configured to protect the motorcycle within an inner side of the cover from a fire exterior to an outer side of the cover.

A sound and heat insulating blanket is presented comprising: a) a first layer of fabric comprising first fibers; and b) a first sound barrier film comprising a first rubber; wherein the first layer of fabric and first sound barrier film are bound together through a first interpenetrated binding layer wherein the first rubber of the first sound barrier film is interpenetrated by the first fibers of the first layer of fabric; and optionally c) a second layer of fabric comprising second fibers; wherein the second layer of fabric and first sound barrier film are bound together through a second interpenetrated binding layer wherein the first cured composition of the first sound barrier film is interpenetrated by the second fibers of the second layer of fabric. Typically, the sound and heat insulating blanket comprises no adhesive binding the first and second layers of fabric and the sound barrier film.
