Windshield assembly system
An apparatus for installing a windshield on a motor vehicle includes a base, a handler, one or more spring assemblies positioned between the base and the handler, the one or more spring assemblies connected to the base and coupled to the handler to allow the handler to float relative to the base, a vibrator attached to the base, and one or more stoppers attached to the base, the one or more stoppers configured for placement between the base and the windshield for transmission of vibration generated by the vibrator to the windshield while the one or more spring assemblies minimizes the transmission of vibration from the base to the handler.
Test jig for door glass and method for mounting the same
A test jig for a door glass includes a mounting block detachably mounted on a door panel of a vehicle door, and an adjustment block that has a vertical part to which a belt weatherstrip is detachably coupled and a horizontal part connected to the mounting block so as to be adjustable relative to the mounting block.
Locating and retention pin
An assembly includes a first panel, a second panel having an aperture therethrough, and a pin. The pin has a base and a shaft. The base is secured to the first panel and the shaft is disposed at least partially in the aperture. The pin additionally includes at least one resilient clip member having a first end and a second end. The first end is disposed within the shaft, and the second end retains the second panel in a desired position relative to the first panel. The shaft comprises a first material and the clip member comprises a second material, different from the first material.
Vehicle having convertible top and side panel
A vehicle having a vehicle body which is provided with a manually removable side panel at a longitudinal side of the vehicle, and a top having a top linkage which comprises a link arrangement on either side of the vertical longitudinal center plane of the vehicle, each link arrangement being pivotably mounted on a respective vehicle-attached main bearing. The removable side panel can be secured to at least one element of the top linkage by a manually unlockable locking device.
Method for producing a motor vehicle, particularly a car
A method for producing a motor vehicle in which a front door and a rear door are mounted on the same side of a bodyshell. Then the doors are removed. The doors are then pre-assembled while the doors are removed. During the pre-assembly of the doors, the front door is fitted with a first side window and with a first trim, the rear door is fitted with a second side window and with a second trim, the second trim is finally positioned relative to the rear door and the second side window is finally positioned relative to the second trim. The doors are then mounted on the side, whereupon the first trim is finally positioned relative to the second trim and the first side window is finally positioned relative to the first trim while the doors are fitted to the side.
Vehicle door
A vehicle door includes a window frame delimiting a window aperture and a window pane that is adjustably positioned in the window aperture. The window frame includes a first leg having a first surface which is situated opposite a first edge of the window pane extending in the adjusting direction. The window frame also includes a second leg having a second surface which is located opposite a second edge of the window pane extending in the adjusting direction. At least the first surface of the first leg delimits a clearance of the window pane transversely to the adjusting direction. In a closed position, the first edge and the first surface touch one another at the height of an upper region of the first leg. At a height of a lower region of the first leg the first edge and the first surface run spaced from one another.
Assembly tool for the assembly of a window pane in a window frame of a vehicle
An assembly tool for assembly of a window pane in a window frame of a vehicle is provided. The assembly tool includes a tool body with a support for supporting and holding the tool body on a first edge of the window pane and a tool arm extending along a longitudinal axis. A distal end of the tool arm includes a distance gauge extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of the tool arm and configured to be inserted between a second, guided edge of the window pane and a pane guide part which guides the guided edge of the window pane within the window frame. The assembly tool also includes a push arm that is displaceable relative to the tool body and configured to clamp the tool body between the first edge of the window pane and a frame part of the window frame. The push arm is actuated by external force.
ADHESIVE BONDLINE SPACER CLIP
A spacer clip for ensuring a minimum adhesive bond line thickness (T) during an attachment event with an adhesive, the spacer clip including: a spacer element having a thickness (t) defining the minimum bond line thickness, adapted to be arranged interleaved between a first vehicle part and a second vehicle part, a hold portion generally parallel with the spacer element and attached to the spacer element with an interconnecting portion. The spacer clip is mountable on the first vehicle part. The hold portion is adapted to be arranged on an opposite side of the first vehicle part compared to the spacer element. The spacer element and the hold portion are adapted to maintain a pressure on the first vehicle part such that the spacer clip can be mounted on the first vehicle part prior to the attachment event.
Windshield Installation System and Triangulation Method
A vehicle windshield triangulation assembly (11), and triangulation method using it with a railing (22) fixed to a vehicle (16) via sliding/rotatable/orientation-adjustable/height-adjustable mounts (18). A sliding seat (21) on railing (22) receives the telescoping end (1) of assembly (11) after its two connected 360-degree rotation swivel clamps (7), each having a suction cup (8), In are secured against the old windshield's (17) exterior surface. Assembly (11) triangulation transfers to a new/replacement windshield (17) by releasing suction cups (8) and pairing them in the same manner with the new/replacement windshield (17), and making needed height adjustment to a top stop (12/13) and the swivel clamp (7) remote from top stop (12/13). The telescoping end (1) of assembly (11) is then engaged with sliding seat (21), allowing one person to easily and accurately move the new windshield (17) into the same positioning of the old windshield (17). This triangulation method accommodates windshields (17) having any size and curvature, and installation of windshields (17) occurs without a dry set step, measuring, templating, or educated guessing being required.
