VEHICULAR REAR SLIDER WINDOW ASSEMBLY WITH RETAINING ELEMENT
A vehicular rear slider window assembly includes a fixed window panel having an inner side and an outer side, an upper rail and a lower rail attached at the inner side, and a movable window panel having a lower perimeter edge received in a channel of the lower rail and an upper perimeter edge received in a channel of the upper rail. The lower rail includes a first attaching surface that attaches at the inner side and a second attaching surface opposite the first attaching surface. A retaining element is attached along the lower rail and at the second attaching surface. The retaining element includes an attaching portion that attaches at the second attaching surface and a retaining portion that extends at least partially across the channel of the lower rail to limit vertical movement of the movable window panel relative to the upper and lower rails.
Reinforced vehicle window
A window assembly for a vehicle includes a laminated panel and a reinforcement structure. The laminated panel includes a glass layer and a polymer layer that is laminated with the glass layer. The reinforcement structure extends along and is coupled to an upper perimeter of the polymer layer. When the polymer layer is in tension, the reinforcement structure hinders inward movement of the polymer layer relative to an upper edge of the window assembly. The window assembly is a retractable side window assembly.
SAFARI GLASS
Top side view windows are canted between a vehicle cabin roof and sides along a length of the vehicle, truncating a corner between the roof and sides. The top side view windows may open outwardly from an interior of the cabin, and may open outwardly and upwardly similar to a safari windshield. Hinges and a latch allow movement of the top side view windows, with the latch securing the respective window in an open or closed position. The latch may include a strap with a flexible end wrapping around interior trim, optionally with a magnet at the tip to hold the flexible end in position when wrapped. A rigid portion of the strap holds the window when in the open position, and may include openings receiving protrusions from the interior trim or teeth engaging with a tip of a rachet cam.
Vehicle window apparatus
A vehicle window apparatus for a vehicle body utilizing a frame having an elongated channel that holds a glass sheet. The glass sheet includes a resilient cover which interacts with the groove of the elongated channel and is held in the groove by a clamp. A gasket and a resilient member form a moisture barrier on either side of the frame.
RESIN FRAME-ATTACHED GLASS PLATE FOR VEHICLE WINDOW
A resin frame-attached glass plate for a vehicle window includes a glass plate; a resin frame attached to a peripheral edge area of the glass plate; and a decorative member disposed on the resin frame such that the resin frame is integrally molded along with the glass plate and the decorative member; wherein the resin frame has a groove formed along a boundary between the resin frame and an exposed portion of the decorative member, the groove being recessed from a surface of the resin frame.
BLAST-RESISTANT ESCAPE WINDOW
A blast-resistant escape window for an armored combat ground vehicle has a cassette which fits within, and closes, a though-opening in a frame of a windscreen. Two releasable lever-operated locking mechanisms for releasably locking the cassette in the through-opening are mounted on the windscreen at opposite sides of the through-opening. The cassette can to be pushed out of the through-opening when the locking mechanisms have been operated to release the cassette from being locked to the windscreen, thereby providing an alternative exit for personnel in the vehicle.
Protective windscreen arrangement
A shock absorbing vehicle window arrangement for a vehicle cab comprising a transparent windscreen having a height. The shock absorbing vehicle window arrangement further comprising a metal frame comprising an inner portion at least partially extending on an inside of the transparent windscreen, and an outer portion, at least partially extending on an outside of the transparent windscreen. The outer portion overlaps the transparent windscreen with at least 1% of the height of the transparent polymer windscreen. The shock absorbing vehicle window arrangement further comprises an additional transparent polymer windscreen which is lighter than the transparent windscreen and comprises a plurality of through holes or recesses for receiving fixation elements for fixating the additional transparent polymer windscreen to the metal frame.
Frame for vehicle, vehicle, and method for installing glass plate containing variable transparency region on frame of vehicle
A frame for a vehicle is provided such that a glass plate including a variable transparency region is installed. The frame includes a glass plate mount that is stepped to allow the glass plate to be inserted and mounted. A cable passage is defined in one side surface of the glass plate mount to allow a cable connected to a connection portion of the glass plate to pass through the cable passage.
PASSENGER RETENTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method and a system are provided for retaining a side window in a vehicle to meet FMVSS No. 226 standard, where the side window is being secured to an exterior surface of a vehicle body. An optically transparent flexible film laminate is adhered to a visible interior surface of the side window. The optically transparent flexible film laminate has a thickness of between about 0.005 inches and about 0.020 inches. A peripheral edge of the optically transparent flexible film laminate is bonded to an interior surface of the vehicle body. The bonding agent overlaps the peripheral edge and the interior surface at a distance of at least 0.5 inches. The bonding agent can be a Sikaflex-552 adhesive.
POWER VENTING DRIVE MECHANISM FOR VEHICLE
A means and method automatically vents air pressure from a vehicle cabin as the vehicle door is closing. A drive mechanism is mounted to a vehicle window. A sensor senses open and closed positions of the door latch. When the latch is open, a signal is sent from the sensor to a controller to open the window. When the latch is closed, a signal is sent to the controller to close the window. Software prevents closing of the window in the event of a pinch event. The software also stops the drive mechanism if there is an obstruction to opening or closing of the window. Manual override is also provided to selectively open and close the window.
