MULTI-LAYER WINDSHIELD FILM HAVING PROGRESSIVE THICKNESS LAYERS
A protective barrier is affixable to a curved substrate such as a vehicle windshield. The protective barrier may include a stack of three or more lenses. Each of the three or more lenses may include a thermoplastic film (preferably a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film) and an adhesive layer on a first side of the thermoplastic film. The three or more lenses may have respective thicknesses that define a monotonically decreasing function in a stacking direction of the stack and that include at least three different thicknesses. The protective barrier may be placed on the curved substrate with the adhesive layer of an innermost lens of the stack in contact with the curved substrate, and heat and pressure may be applied to conform the stack to the shape of the curved substrate. Thereafter, an outermost lens of the stack may be peeled off to reveal the next lens of the stack.
PROTECTIVE FILM FOR WINDSHIELD OF VEHICLE
The present invention relates to a protective film for a windshield of a vehicle, which can be installed on a curved portion of the windshield of the vehicle without a thermoforming process, thereby improving the workability of a worker, and improving impact resistance to effectively protect the windshield of the vehicle.
Apparatus for Dispersing Impact Forces
A device for reducing impact forces upon a surface includes a base comprising a first contact portion and a transition portion, a contact member disposed between the base and the surface; and a biasing portion disposed between the first contact portion of the base and the surface. At least a first portion of an impact force upon the surface is transferred from the contact member to the base, and a second portion of the impact force is subsequently returned to the surface, the second portion being less than the first portion.
SCREEN ATTACHMENT ADAPTER
Systems and methods for receiving a screen and securing the screen relative to a frame are described. A device embodiment includes, but is not limited to, an adapter body defining a channel configured to receive a rigid screen support supporting a screen, and an extension offset from the channel, the extension configured to be inserted into a groove of a frame for an opening to hold the screen relative to the opening when the channel receives the rigid screen support.
Coating for glass and forming method thereof, and automotive window
A coating for a glass and a forming method thereof, and an automotive window are provided. The coating includes: a first material layer which has a first elastic modulus; and a second material layer which includes at least one material layer, wherein the second material layer has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, the first surface is used for disposing the first material layer, the second surface is adaptable for facing a surface of the glass when the coating is applied on the glass, and the second material layer has a second elastic modulus less than the first elastic modulus. Anti-scratch ability of the coating and scratch resistance of the automotive window may be improved, which avoids scratches on the automotive window.
Security screen mounting system and method therefor
A mounting system and method for security screens for use with windows having an exterior-facing accessory groove at the outer perimeter of the window frame is disclosed. The mounting system and method according to the present invention reduces materials cost for manufacture of security screens while improving aesthetics of the installation and permitting installation of security screens either at the construction site or during window manufacture, while preserving the window manufacturer's warranty. Exemplary embodiments both with and without a subframe are described.
REMOVABLE PANEL ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE WINDOW AND RELATED METHODS
A removable panel assembly for a vehicle window, the panel assembly includes a removable panel sized and shaped to overlie at least a portion of an outward-facing surface of a vehicle window. A first retainer is configured to secure the panel in abutting relation to the window, the first retainer including a first engagement element configured to engage a first edge of the window and a second engagement element configured to engage an inward-facing surface of the window. A second retainer is configured to secure the panel in abutting relation to the window, the second retainer including a third engagement element configured to engage a second edge of the window and a fourth engagement element configured to engage the inward-facing surface of the window.
Protective barrier for safety glazing
A protective barrier affixable to a curved substrate comprises a stack of two or more lenses, each of the two or more lenses including a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film, a hard coat on a first side of the PET film, and an adhesive layer on a second side of the PET film opposite the first side. The stack of two or more lenses may have a modulation transfer function that exhibits a contrast value greater than 75% for a spatial resolution of one line-pair per 0.0003 radians at 65 degrees angle of incidence. Heat and pressure may be applied to conform the stack of two or more lenses to the shape of the curved substrate.
Object impact protection for an aircraft
Various implementations described herein are directed to an aircraft. The aircraft includes an airframe; and a windshield system having a transparent canopy coupled to the airframe and a transparent inner panel having a portion thereof disposed within the transparent canopy and coupled to the airframe and to at least a processor.
Foreign object impact proof windshield assembly
A vehicle with a vehicle frame and a windshield assembly that is mounted to the vehicle frame and closes an associated opening provided in the vehicle frame. The windshield assembly comprises at least one flexible element and at least one windshield. The at least one flexible element connects the at least one windshield to the vehicle frame for at least partially absorbing loads resulting from an impact on the at least one windshield. The at least one flexible element connects the at least one windshield to the vehicle frame such that the at least one windshield pivots relative to the vehicle frame by means of the at least one flexible element upon occurrence of an impact on the at least one windshield such that the at least one flexible element defines a hinge element.
