20210309087 · 2021-10-07 ·

A window stabilization system for a window of a vehicle includes a first inflatable bladder positioned adjacent a path along which the window passes such that the inflatable bladder will engage a surface of the window when the window is opened at least a predetermined amount and the inflatable bladder is inflated; an inflator in fluid communication with the first inflatable bladder configured to pump a fluid into the inflatable bladder such that when the first inflatable bladder is inflated a predetermined amount, the first inflatable bladder comes into physical contact with a surface of the window when the window is opened at least a predetermined amount; and a bladder control system to control operation of the inflator in response to data received regarding operation of the window.

Bracket Assembly for a Window of a Vehicle
20200307361 · 2020-10-01 ·

A bracket assembly supports a window and prevents a portion of a side window extending into a door of a vehicle from vibrating. The bracket assembly includes a U-shaped bracket including a base and a wall extending upwardly and away from the base on either side of the base to create a channel. Each of the walls defines an upper edge. The bracket assembly also includes a flexible extension extending out from the upper edge of each of the walls. The flexible extension extends to a distal edge, whereby the flexible extensions engage the portion of the side window extending into the door to dampen vibrations of the side window.

Glass run

A glass run includes: a main body portion including a base portion, an inner side wall portion and an outer side wall portion; an inner side seal lip; and an outer side seal lip, wherein; the inner side seal lip includes a protruding portion on a rear surface so as to have a protruding surface; and in a case where the door glass inserted into the main body portion is displaced from a reference position to the inside of the vehicle, a state is changeable between a first support state where a tip end portion of a sub-lip and the protruding surface abut against each other and slide, and a second support state where the tip end portion is separated from the protruding surface and a part on a root side than the tip end portion abuts against the protruding portion.

Window stabilization mechanism

A window stabilization mechanism includes a rail provided on a first cabin frame provided on one side of a window, and has a first end and a second end opposite to the first end in the lengthwise direction of the rail. A sliding member is provided on a windowpane and is configured to slide on the rail. The sliding member is located at a first end when the window is opened and at a second end when the window is closed. A lock mechanism is configured to lock the windowpane to the first cabin frame when the window is closed. A window support member is configured to abut on the windowpane when the window is closed, and to press the windowpane in an oblique direction from the windowpane toward the rail and from the second end toward the first end when the windowpane is locked by a lock mechanism.

Vehicle door glass damping and vehicles including vehicle door glass damping systems

Embodiments described herein generally relate to a vehicle door glass damping system that functions like a clamp along a perimeter of a door glass when the door glass is in a closed position. The system includes an actuator assembly having a motor housing and a plunger. The assembly is configured to apply a force in the vehicle lateral direction force to a perimeter edge of the door glass. A plurality of actuator assemblies may be provided about the perimeter of the door glass at multiple locations. The actuator assembly may be a single touch location or may touch off on the whole perimeter of the door glass. When the door glass is displaced, a sealing member body within a glass run channel pivotally compresses which creates a compression seal between the sealing member body and the exterior surface of the door glass.

Vehicle

A vehicle may include a vehicle body, a door, a window frame, a window panel, a lower support and an anti-vibration member. The window panel may be provided in the window frame, configured to be manually raised and lowered, and supported to movable between an upper limit position where the window panel closes an opening of the window frame and a lower limit position where the window panel opens the opening of the window frame. The lower support may include a groove. The groove may be configured to receive a lower edge of the window panel when the window panel is located at the lower limit position. The anti-vibration member may have viscoelasticity, disposed in the groove of the lower support, and configured to hold the window panel from both sides of the window panel.
