Motor vehicle
A motor vehicle (1) has a first front door (2) and a first rear door (3) arranged behind one another on a first longitudinal side of the motor vehicle (1), and a second front door and a second rear door arranged behind one another on a second longitudinal side of the motor vehicle (1). The second longitudinal side lies opposite the first longitudinal side. Each of the two front doors (2) has a lowerable door pane (4), and each of the two rear doors (3) has a fixed door pane (6). The rear doors (3) have a frameless configuration, and the fixed door panes (6) extending as far as the front doors (2).
DOOR UPPER
A side door assembly is provided for an automotive vehicle body having a side opening. The side door assembly includes an upper door half incorporating a unique outer panel coupled to or integrally formed with a structural portion. Soft goods are operably coupled to the structural portion of the upper door half. The side door assembly includes a one-piece casting for hinged connection to the vehicle body. The casting forms a frame. At least one panel insert is selectively connected from the interior of the vehicle outward by a plurality of rotary attachment features to the frame. The frame includes a plurality of reinforcement features to add structure and rigidity, while reducing weight, to the side door assembly.
Clip for attaching a trim panel to a door
A vehicle door assembly is disclosed herein. The vehicle door assembly includes a door. A trim panel has a mount that defines an aperture. A clip that includes a base is coupled to the door. A retainer is coupled to the base and is configured to extend through the aperture defined by the mount to an assembled position, the retainer has an upper portion that is coupled to a lower portion at a vertex to form a projection. A retention feature is coupled to the upper portion and has a ramp. A stop is coupled to the ramp and extends generally downward therefrom to the upper portion. The stop is configured to engage with a back side of the mount to generally prevent the movement of the retainer out of the aperture when the retainer is in the assembled position.
DOOR APPARATUS
A multi-piece door assembly including a first door portion and a second door portion, which are removable to create a partially open-air experience or fully open-air experience. A pin pocket design is provided for selectively attaching the first door portion to a variety of different types of second door portions. A blow-out tab is provided to keep the multi-piece door assembly from blowing outwardly away from the vehicle with the increase of internal pressures at high speeds or crosswind situations.
CONVERTIBLE VEHICLE DOORS
A convertible vehicle door includes a high visibility off-road frame door including a hinge assembly to hingedly couple to a vehicle body, and an exterior on-road panel configured to hingedly couple to the hinge assembly outboard of the high visibility off-road frame door. The convertible vehicle door is convertible between an on-road door configuration where the exterior on-road panel is coupled to the high visibility off-road frame door, and an off-road door configuration where the exterior on-road panel is detached from the high visibility off-road frame door.
VEHICLE DOOR
A vehicle door includes a window and further includes window glass, an outer panel made of resin, and a belt molding. The outer panel is placed outwardly in the vehicle width direction from the window glass and faces the window glass in at least part of the peripheral edge of the opening. The belt molding is fixed to the inner surface of the outer panel facing the window glass and seals a gap between the window glass and the outer panel. The belt molding includes a base member and a belt molding body. The base member is bonded to the inner surface of the outer panel and has an attachment surface facing the window glass. The belt molding body is supported on the attachment surface of the base member via a plurality of fixed points provided such that the fixed points are distanced from each other.
Fixed window assembly for a vehicle and method of manufacturing same
The subject invention includes a fixed window assembly for a vehicle comprising a fixed glass, a trim portion having a polymeric base and a decorative member bonded to the polymeric base. An encapsulation is coupled to the fixed glass and the polymeric base to mount the trim portion in a spaced and adjacent position relative to the fixed glass. A method of manufacturing is also provided using first and second molding apparatuses. Polymeric material is injected into a first mold cavity of the first molding apparatus to form the polymeric base bonded to the decorative member. Polymeric material is injected into a second mold cavity of the second molding apparatus to form the encapsulation coupled to the fixed glass and simultaneously coupled to the polymeric base to mount the trim portion in an adjacent position to the fixed glass.
DOOR ASSEMBLY WITH MOUNTING COMPONENT AND ASSEMBLY METHOD
A door assembly and an assembly method for a door assembly with a door skin, a support component and an interior trim component, the support component is fastened to the door skin by at least one mounting component. The at least one mounting component is also used for mounting the interior trim component since a head section of the mounting component projects from the support component and the interior trim component is mounted on the head section.
Method of assembling a composite side cabin structure with integrated structural core for a vehicle
A method of assembling at least two types of vehicles with different powertrain requirements on the same assembly line is provided. The method includes assembling a first structural body component for a first vehicle type including a first powertrain requirement. The first structural body component comprises a first structural core surrounded by a first fiber reinforced material having a first thickness. The first structural body component has a first external geometry. The method includes assembling a second structural body component for a second vehicle type that has a second powertrain requirement different from the first powertrain requirement. The second structural body component comprises a second structural core surrounded by a second fiber reinforced material having a second thickness different from the first thickness. The second structural body component has a second external geometry that is the same in shape and dimension as the first external geometry.
Door for vehicle
A door of a vehicle may include a first door module forming a door skeleton; a second door module coupled with the first door module and forming a door window; and a door frame coupled to the first door module and engaged with the second door module; wherein the second door module may include a relatively lightweight material as compared to the first door module, reducing weight and cost of the door for the vehicle.
