A tonneau system that includes one or more tonneau sections and a retraction system. The retraction system has an adjuster shaft; a bias member; a drive roller in communication with the adjuster shaft; one or more lines connected to the one or more tonneau sections and/or to the drive roller; and an adjuster to adjust torque provided by the bias member. The bias member is connected to the adjuster shaft, the drive roller, or both.

Automated soft tonneau cover

A retractable cover system includes a frame that provides an opening. A drive system includes a motor operatively connected to a main roller through a first drive element. A resilient member is interconnected between the motor and a second drive element. The main roller is connected to one of the first and second drive elements. A flexible cover is mounted to the main roller and is configured to slide relative to the frame between first and second positions within the opening in response to actuation of the drive system.

Folding soft top with lift assist

A soft top assembly which includes lift assist and improved fabric management. The assembly includes front side rails pivotally connected to rear side rails. A plurality of fabric control bows with control linkages provide fabric control to the top material during pivoting of the front side rails. A first and second gas strut are attached to the rear side rails to assist lifting and controlled motion as the top is moved between a closed position and open sunroof position, as one strut is fully loaded and compressed while the other strut is fully loaded and open, for lift assist and dampening.

A tarpaulin cover system includes a drive unit for moving the tarpaulin selectively into covering and uncovering positions. The drive unit comprises first and second drive sprockets and a rotatable actuator sprocket with all of the sprockets spaced from and out of contact with each other. An idler sprocket is provided between the actuator sprocket and the drive sprockets. All of the sprockets are interconnected by a chain engaged with teeth with the chain extending partially around each sprocket whereby rotation of the actuator sprocket causes the drive sprockets to move in the intended directions. This motion is transmitted to drive pulleys which drive cables to control the position of the tarpaulin.

A tarpaulin superstructure where the end runner is not lifted by the airstream is provided according to the invention in that an air deflection part is arranged at an end of the end runner, by means of which air deflection part the airstream is converted into a force in the closing direction of the end runner.
