In some embodiments, the attachment portion is less compressible than the compression portion. In some embodiments, the attachment portion comprises a pair of arms extending outward from a stop component and the compression portion comprises a pair of bulb seals, each of the bulb seals being located below each of the arms.

Method for forming seals on seal carriers

A method for forming seals on seal carriers, in particular vehicle doors or vehicle door frames, extrudes a sealing material strand which is to be processed to form a multiplicity of seals and has a cavity, coils or folds up the sealing material strand, forming a transportable unit that is transported to a processing site and the sealing material strand is fed continuously to a processing device by being drawn out of the transportable unit. During the processing, a section of the sealing material strand that is to be applied to the relevant seal carrier and forms the seal is in each case severed from the sealing material strand. In each case during or after the processing of the sealing material strand to form a seal, that section of the sealing material strand which forms the seal is reinforced in places at least at one predetermined longitudinal position of the section by introducing material into the cavity.

A boundary portion between upper and outer plate portions in the cross-section of a core is curved to have a large curvature. An outer portion of a glass run body is provided with an upper elastic protrusion engaging with an upper engagement portion of the trim strip. A gap is formed between an upper part of the outer portion of the glass run body and an upper portion of the trim strip. The gap allows the trim strip to move excessively toward the inside of a cabin.

ENCAPSULATION METHOD

A process is for manufacturing a complex motor vehicle glazing including a glass pane, an elastomer seal and a metal insert overmolded by the elastomer seal. The process includes inserting an edge of a glass pane and a metal insert into an encapsulation mold forming a leaktight cavity around the edge of the glass pane, filling the leaktight cavity containing the edge of the glass pane and the metal insert, by injecting an encapsulation composition including a polypropylene (PP)/thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compound in the molten state, cooling the encapsulation composition to form an elastomer seal in which the metal insert is integrated, and releasing the elastomer seal from the mold. The PP/TPE compound includes from 30% to 80% by weight of polypropylene (PP) and the metal insert is covered over its entire surface liable to come into contact with the encapsulation composition, with a polypropylene coating.

Seal Assembly

A seal assembly includes a body portion defining a mounting channel for receiving a vehicle flange. A base of the body portion defines an outer surface of the body portion with the outer surface defining a first axis of curvature adapted to correspond with a contour of the flange. The seal assembly further includes a sealing lip portion co-extruded with the body portion and defining a notch having a notch configuration, an element disposed in the notch and pre-formed to have an element configuration corresponding to at least a part of the notch configuration, and a molding material molded to a back surface of the element, secured to the sealing lip portion within the notch, and extending across the notch, with the element and the molding material defining a contour lip portion that in combination with the sealing lip portion defines an external sealing lip of the seal assembly.

The window weather strip arrangement further includes a window weather strip secured to the window weather strip carrier. The window weather strip carrier has a vehicle skin receiving portion for receiving sections of the vehicle skin and the window weather strip is secured to the window weather strip carrier on a side of the window weather strip carrier facing away from the vehicle skin receiving portion. A lamp is arranged in a lamp-receiving opening of the window weather strip and the reinforcing core protrudes out of the carrier sleeve overlapping with at least sections of the lamp-receiving opening, such that at least sections of the reinforcing core function as a reflector for the lamp.
