The beacon includes at least three levels of patterns: one first-level pattern and at least one second-level pattern, where the at least one second-level pattern is superposed above the first-level pattern, and an area of the second-level pattern is less than that of the first-level pattern.

Unmanned aerial vehicle charging station management

Methods, devices, and systems of various embodiments are disclosed for managing an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) charging station having a docking terminal. In various embodiments, a priority of a first UAV and a second UAV may be determined for using the docking terminal when a docking request is received from the second UAV while the first UAV occupies the docking terminal. In some embodiments, the priorities of the first and second UAVs may be based on an available power level of each of the first and second UAVs. The first UAV may be instructed to undock from the docking terminal in response to determining that the second UAV has a higher priority.

Systems, methods, and devices are provided for generating flight restriction zones associated with flight response measures. The flight restriction zones may be generated with one or more flight restriction strips. Flight response measures for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) may be directed based on a location and/or movement characteristic of the UAV relative to the one or more flight restriction strips. Different flight-response measures may be taken based on various parameters.

Drone air traffic control and flight plan management

One embodiment provides a method comprising receiving a flight plan request for a drone. The flight plan request comprises a drone identity, departure information, and arrival information. The method further comprises constructing a modified flight plan for the drone based on the flight plan request, wherein the modified flight plan represents an approved, congestion reducing, and executable flight plan for the drone, and the modified flight plan comprises a sequence of four-dimensional (4D) cells representing a planned flight path for the drone. For each 4D cell of the modified flight plan, the method further comprises attempting to place an exclusive lock on behalf of the drone on the 4D cell, and in response to a failure to place the exclusive lock on behalf of the drone on the 4D cell, rerouting the modified flight plan around the 4D cell to a random neighboring 4D cell.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING AN AIRCRAFT TRAJECTORY

Systems and methods of the present invention are provided to generate a plurality of flight trajectories that do not conflict with other aircraft in a local area. Interventions by an air traffic control system help prevent collisions between aircraft, but these interventions can also cause an aircraft to substantially deviate from the pilot's intended flight trajectory, which burns fuels, wastes time, etc. Systems and methods of the present invention can assign a standard avoidance interval to other aircraft in the area such that a pilot's aircraft does not receive an intervention by an air traffic control system. Systems and methods of the present invention also generate a plurality of conflict-free flight trajectories such that a pilot or an automated system may select the most desirable flight trajectory for fuel efficiency, speed, and other operational considerations, etc.

The disclosed embodiments describe collision warning devices, controllers, and computer readable media. A collision warning device for towing vehicles includes a housing, a scanning sensor, a display, and a controller. The housing is configured to be secured to at least one of a tow operator and a tug during aircraft towing operations. The a scanning sensor is secured to the housing and is configured to scan an aircraft and to scan an object in an environment surrounding the aircraft. The controller is mounted to the housing and is operably coupled with the scanning sensor and the display. The controller is configured to generate a three dimensional (3D) model of the aircraft and the environment based on a signal output from the scanning sensor, and to calculate potential collisions between the aircraft and the object based on the 3D model.

Flight control for flight-restricted regions

Systems, methods, and devices are provided for providing flight response to flight-restricted regions. The location of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) may be compared with a location of a flight-restricted region. If needed a flight-response measure may be taken by the UAV to prevent the UAV from flying in a no-fly zone. Different flight-response measures may be taken based on the distance between the UAV and the flight-restricted region and the rules of a jurisdiction within which the UAV falls.

Cargo transport system and method based on unmanned aerial vehicle

A cargo transport system includes a UAV and a vehicle for sending and receiving the UAV. The UAV has a navigation system for guiding the UAV to fly to transport cargos between the vehicle and a terminal according to first navigation position information of the vehicle and the terminal. The vehicle includes a UAV accommodating device and a UAV receiving controller for guiding the UAV to the vehicle based on wireless signal transmitted directly between them when the UAV flies into a preset range around the vehicle. The UAV receiving controller includes: an identity verification unit for providing information to the UAV in response to a request broadcasted by the UAV to determine whether the vehicle is a target vehicle where the UAV is to land; and a short distance guide unit which provides information for guiding the UAV to land when the vehicle is the target vehicle.

A method, computing system and computer program product are provided to monitor compliance with a non-transgression zone between aircraft approach corridors, thereby facilitating simultaneous instrument approaches. In the context of a method, a predicted path of an aircraft is determined during a flight based upon at least a representation of a roll angle of the aircraft and a cross-track component of the velocity of the aircraft. The method also includes identifying an instance in which the predicted path of the aircraft during the flight intersects a non-transgression zone. The method further includes causing an alert to be issued in the instance in which the predicted path of the aircraft during the flight intersects the non-transgression zone.
