Fire extinguishing system valve, in particular wet alarm valve, dry alarm valve or spray water valve and control module for the same and fire extinguishing system utilizing the same

A fire extinguishing system valve (1), in particular wet alarm valve, dry alarm valve or spray water valve, having a housing (3) which has a fluid inlet chamber (9), a fluid outlet chamber (11) and a closing body (13) which can move back and forth between a blocking state and a release state, wherein the fluid inlet chamber (9) and the fluid outlet chamber (11) communicate directly with one another in a fluid-conducting manner in the release state, and the closing body (13) prevents the direct communication between the fluid inlet chamber (9) and the fluid outlet chamber (11) in the blocking state. The housing (3) has a dedicated discharge duct (30) which has at least one inlet (30a, b) connected to the fluid outlet chamber (11) and an outlet (30c) leading out of the housing (3) of the fire extinguishing system valve (1), and which is integrated into the housing (3).

Sprinkler head with vane deflector

A sprinkler includes an inlet aperture, an outlet aperture, a body, a conical member, and a deflector. The inlet aperture receives fire suppressant agent at an inlet end of the sprinkler and the outlet aperture is at an outlet end of the sprinkler. The body extends along a longitudinal axis and includes an inner volume forming a fluid flow path between the inlet end and the outlet end of the sprinkler. The conical member is positioned at the outlet end of the sprinkler directs the fire suppressant agent outwards. The deflector receives fire suppressant agent from the conical member and distributes the fire suppressant agent about a service area. The deflector includes multiple tines, which each extend along a corresponding radial axis that is substantially perpendicular with the longitudinal axis. Each tine is offset by an angular amount about the corresponding radial axis.

Inert gas distribution

An inert gas distribution system nozzle 1 including an inlet 10 to receive fluid from a fluid supply, a chamber 32 to receive the fluid from the inlet and dimensioned relative to the inlet to permit the fluid to expand to form a mist, and at least one passage 34 to receive the fluid from the chamber and dimensioned relative to the chamber to promote condensing of the mist, wherein the, or each, passage comprises an outlet 40 to emit the fluid from the nozzle. A cross-sectional area of the passage is less than a cross-sectional area of the chamber.

The invention relates to a spray mist nozzle, in particular an open high-pressure spray mist nozzle for firefighting systems, having a housing which is configured with an extinguishing fluid inlet and is configured with multiple recesses for receiving an exchangeable nozzle insert, such a nozzle insert being inserted into one, multiple/plural or all the recesses. The nozzle insert has a main body with a longitudinal axis that has in the longitudinal axis a spray mist outlet for the extinguishing fluid. An exchangeable swirl body is arranged in the main body and is configured to swirl the extinguishing fluid prior to the latter exiting from the spray mist outlet. The spray mist outlet has a minimum opening cross section, and has a widened exit cross section downstream of the minimum opening cross section, wherein a transition from the minimum opening cross section to the exit cross section runs along a convexly curved surface.

A method and device for protecting and installing a fire protection sprinkler assembly having a thermally responsive trigger. The method includes shielding and torquing a fire protection sprinkler with a protective device having a torque assist feature. The protective device includes a first member and a second member opposed and spaced about a plane to define an internal void and a lateral slot for strapping about the sprinkler. The torque assist feature includes a first confronting segment of the first member and a second confronting segment of the second member. The first and second confronting segments are disposed on opposite sides of the plane and spaced apart laterally about the device axis. Each of the first and second confronting segments define an internal surface of the device that form a contact surface engagement with one arm in the pair of frame arms to transfer a torque or rotational force to the sprinkler.
