The hose winding device has an open rectangular parallelepiped skeleton frame made of tubular members. The upper cross members at opposite ends of the frame include a lower wringer roller mounted on a shaft fixed to opposite sides of the frame and an upper wringer roller spaced above the lower wringer roller. The wringer rollers compress and flatten the fire hose as it is cranked through the wringer rollers, thereby removing any water left inside the hose. A pair of spaced apart, vertical guide rollers are mounted closely behind the wringer rollers, the four rollers being configured similar to a winch's roller fairlead, permitting the hose to be smoothly wound on the device without first straightening the hose. A hand crank is removably mounted to opposite sides of the frame halfway between opposite ends of the frame. The crank has a hose coupler retainer extending parallel to the crank's axle.

A firefighter training unit for simulating use of a fire extinguishing system, the unit including: a reel; a user-manipulable nozzle; a hose having opposite ends attached respectively to the reel and the nozzle and being partially wound around the reel, wherein rotation of the reel in a first rotational direction allows the hose to be unwound from the reel; a motor configured to drive the reel in a second rotational direction which causes the hose to be wound onto the reel; one or more devices for providing one or more output signals corresponding to one or more simulated operating conditions of the fire extinguishing system; and a controller configured to drive the motor in response to the one or more output signals so as to apply torque to the reel in the second rotational direction to simulate forces applied to the hose during operation of the fire extinguishing system.

The fire hose pack roller includes a first embodiment where the device is held in place by a bracket positioned under a vehicle's tire and the weight of the vehicle secures the device for use or in a second embodiment where the device is removably mounted to the vehicle. The hose pack roller device includes a pair of collapsible arms that are unfolded and the fire hose is would around pegs mounted on the arms. The device further includes a set of rollers that squeezes air and water from the hose as it is wound. Once wound the hose is easily folded into a Gansner type pack for storage of the hose. The arms of the device may be folded closed such that the device forms a compact unit for storage. No external power supply is required.

A hose draining device that rolls along the ground and raises up a portion of a flexible hose to facilitate draining the hose. The device has a leading roller that is close to the ground, a center roller that is spaced away from the ground, and a trailing roller that is further away from the ground than the center roller. The hose is supported by the rollers while the device moves along the length of the hose. The device has a handle portion that is removable for storage and transportation. A counterbalance may be provided near the leading roller to stabilize the device.

An apparatus for simultaneously rolling up and washing hoses. The apparatus has at least one nozzle and one bristle for washing and scrubbing a hose as it is being rolled onto a hose reel. The apparatus can be connected to a standard garden hose or to a water source on a fire truck. The apparatus washes and scrubs a hose of decontaminates as it is being rolled.
