AN ALIQUOTING AND FREEZING STORAGE DEVICE
An aliquoting and freezing storage device comprises a test tube and at least one capillary tube. The capillary tube is inserted into a test tube, and the capillary tube is provided with an inner long hole which penetrates throughly. The device utilizes the capillarity to quickly and easily store biological samples in the capillary tubes. When needed, the operator only needs to remove one or several of the tubes, without affecting the remaining biological samples, so as to avoid repeated freezing and thawing of biological samples.
SPECIMEN CONTAINER FOR BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS
A specimen container for use with biological specimens that includes at least one cylindrical housing, wherein the at least one cylindrical housing is open on one or both ends thereof; at least one cap for sealing the open ends of the at least one cylindrical housing; a syringe plunger adapted for insertion into the at least one cylindrical housing, wherein the syringe plunger is operative to move a biological specimen into the at least one cylindrical housing when the syringe plunger is depressed; and optionally, a linking cuff, wherein the linking cuff is operative to join multiple cylindrical housings to one another and permit mixing of the contents thereof.
Oxygen Reduction Disposable Kits, Devices and Methods of Use Thereof
The present disclosure relates to Oxygen Reduction Disposable kits (ORDKit), devices and methods for the improved preservation of whole blood and blood components. The improved devices and methods for the collection of blood and blood components provide for whole blood and blood components having reduced levels of oxygen. The devices and methods provide for the rapid preparation of deoxygenated blood and blood components for storage that improves the overall quality of the transfused blood and improves health outcomes in patients.
Platelet concentrate preservation method
A method and a platelet concentrate preservation device for platelet concentrate storage. A method includes at least partially saturating platelet concentrate xenon, and storing the platelet concentrate at less than 15 C in a generally horizontal position. A device can be used to store blood, blood products, or combinations thereof that may or may not be under pressure. The device includes a chamber having a cavity. The chamber includes first and second chamber parts that form the cavity when releasably connected together. The cavity is designed to receive at least one bag that contains the blood, blood products, or combinations thereof. The device also includes a high-strength casing and includes a chamber cavity. The high-strength casing includes first and second casing parts that form the chamber cavity when releasably connected together. The chamber cavity is designed to receive the chamber.
BREAK AWAY/TEAR AWAY CRYOPRESERVATION VIAL AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING AND USING SAME
A vial is described herein that comprises a tubular body which comprises an opened end, a closed end, and a cavity, wherein the opened end is located at one end of the tubular body and the closed end is located at an opposing end of the tubular body. The tubular body further comprises a tear line located therein, wherein the tear line extends across at least a portion of one side of the tubular body, across the closed end, and across at least a portion of another side of the tubular body. In addition, the tubular body further comprises two flanges extending from the closed end, wherein the two flanges are configured to separate from one another outwardly from the tubular body and apply a force to break-open at least a portion of the tear line to open at least the closed end of the tubular body.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MAINTAINING ORGAN PRESSURE
Systems and methods herein generally relate to prolonging viability of bodily tissue, especially an organ, by adjusting pressure as needed to maintain a constant pressure within the organ even during external pressure fluctuations due, for example, to transportation of the organ in an airplane. The systems and methods herein can include an electronic pump that pumps gas into an organ and a mechanical pressure regulator to release gas based on organ pressure.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEASURING OXYGEN CONCENTRATION FOR LUNG PRESERVATION
A system and method for maintaining an oxygen concentration of a biological sample. The oxygen concentration can be maintained by measuring the oxygen concentration within the biological sample and adjusting a rate of an oxygen supplier in response to this measurement. For example, when the oxygen concentration is below a threshold, oxygen can be delivered to the biological sample at a higher rate.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CYCLICALLY INFLATING AND DEFLATING A LUNG EX-VIVO
The systems and methods relate to cyclically inflating and deflating a lung. The lung can be stored and transported while pumping a gas into the lung and removing another gas from the lung. The cyclical inflation and deflation of the lung can be performed at a rate enhanced or optimized for lung performance.
Container, closure lid, and vessel for transplant objects, and methods and systems for providing three-dimensional structure data and for sterilizing a transplant object
The invention relates to a container (1) for holding a transplant object (2) and to a closure lid (4) and a vessel (3) for such a container (1). To facilitate an improved and reliable analysis and treatment of transplant objects (2), the intention being to implement particularly sparing handling, which is also protected against environmental influences, of the transplant object (2), it is proposed that the container (1) be transmissive for radiation that facilitates radiological imaging and/or a sterilization by means of ionizing radiation of the transplant object (2) held in the container (1) and that the closure lid (4) and/or the vessel (3) have one or more affixment structures (5) for fastening the transplant object (2) in the container (1). Moreover, a method and a system for providing three-dimensional structure data of a transplant object are proposed, by means of which the information obtained by the analysis is rendered better usable for medical staff. Moreover, a method and a system for sterilizing a transplant object (2) by means of ionizing radiation are described.
PACKAGING FOR PRESERVATION OF BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL
Packaging for preservation of biological material, wherein, in use, the packaging is filled with biological material and placed in an apparatus for preserving the biological material such that a heat exchange fluid flows around the packaging, the packaging including: one or more packaging walls configured to define an internal compartment for receiving the biological material; and one or more thermal contours defined across at least one of the packaging walls, wherein, in use, the flow of the heat exchange fluid is at least partially directed by the one or more thermal contours to improve heat transfer between the heat exchange fluid and the biological material contained in the packaging.
