Analysis and Control for Fire Suppression System
A computer-implemented method that, when executed by data processing hardware, causes the data processing hardware to perform operations. These operations include receiving alarm signals associated with a thermal event, receiving thermal imaging data for the observation zone associated with the thermal event, evaluating the thermal imaging data to determine the location and/or the area of the thermal event within the observation zone. The operations also include obtaining a configuration record that includes configuration parameters for a retardant dispenser associated with the observation zone. Using the configuration parameters, the operations include instructing the dispenser to provide a retardant to the thermal event.
Device for extinguishing a fire
Extinguishing a fire by pressurizing a tank containing an extinguishing liquid. According to the invention, the tank containing the liquid is provided with an expulsion outlet at a front end, a gas generator (17) is installed at a rear end, and a diaphragm forming an inflatable bag (19) is installed inside the tank, being folded prior to triggering in a confinement space at the front of the gas generator, the outlet from the generator being associated with a deflector (47) including a rearwardly-directed ejection passage (49).
FIRE-FIGHTING SYSTEM
A fire-fighting system including: a pressurized gas supply; a vessel for storing a solution of water and a foaming agent, the vessel being connected to the pressurized gas supply for pressurizing the vessel in use; and a mixer for mixing gas from the pressurized gas supply with the solution to generate foam, wherein the mixer includes: a solution inlet for receiving the solution from the vessel; a foam outlet; one or more injection ports connected to the pressurized gas supply for injecting gas bubbles into the solution to form a mixture of the solution and the gas bubbles; and a foaming chamber extending between the solution inlet and the foam outlet, the mixture flowing through the foaming chamber to generate foam at the foam outlet, at least one internal surface of the foaming chamber including a shearing structure for shearing the gas bubbles as the mixture flows through the foaming chamber.
Fire Extinguishing Discharge Nozzle for Helicopter Engine Compartment
Embodiments are directed to a rotorcraft comprising an airframe having an engine compartment, an engine disposed within the engine compartment, at least one fire bottle configured to hold a fire extinguishing agent, at least one agent tube coupled to the fire bottle and configured to carry the fire extinguishing agent to the engine compartment, and a nozzle on the at least one agent tube, the nozzle positioned above the engine and oriented in a downward-facing direction. The nozzle has at least one opening and is configured to allow liquid to drain out of the at least one opening instead of allowing the liquid to flow into the at least one agent tube. The nozzle may have a chamfer opening that faces downward.
Fire suppression systems
A fire suppression system for an aircraft (cargo) compartment comprises a source of fire suppression agent and a supply line for conducting the fire suppression agent to the compartment. The supply line comprises a pressure regulating device arranged between the source and the compartment and a pressure relief valve arranged downstream of the pressure regulating device. The pressure relief valve has an outlet which distributes the agent externally of the cargo compartment.

Installed fire extinguishing equipment with extinguishing-launching part-unit
A fire extinguishing equipment including an extinguishing-launching part-unit and a pressure-resistant storage body with an internal space housing a fire extinguishing material. A transport pipe is connected to the internal space to transport the fire extinguishing material to a use location. An extinguishing part-unit is connected to the external end of the transport pipe and includes one or more event-detecting part-units, which are connected to the extinguishing-launching part-unit. The extinguishing-launching part-unit is supplemented with a separation fitting disposed within the transport pipe, separated from a transport regulation fitting also disposed within the transport pipe. A reference pressure supply part-unit is within the transport pipe between the separation fitting and the transport regulation fitting. Each of the transport regulation fitting and the separation fitting includes a clamping housing and a rupture disc fixed therein, which rupture upon detection of a fire to dispense the fire extinguishing material.

Installed fire extinguishing equipment with improved characteristics
A fire extinguishing equipment with improved characteristics which includes a pressure-resistant storage body with an internal space that houses a fire extinguishing composition. A monitoring unit is connected to the storage body to measure and regulate one or more physical characteristics. At least one discharge outlet is in communication with the internal space of the storage body and is configured to discharge the fire-extinguishing composition from the internal space to a use location. A charging inlet is disposed within the storage body and is configured to fill the internal space with the fire-extinguishing composition. An extinguishing-launching part-unit is inserted into a pipe section between the use location and the discharge outlet.
AIRCRAFT ZONAL FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Described herein are zonal fire suppression systems and methods of using such systems for suppressing fires in cargo aircraft. A system is configured to individually monitor the temperature in each of multiple cargo zones in the cargo area. The system is also configured to selectively activate one or more of multiple zone distribution components to distribute a fire suppressant material, based at least on the temperature monitoring. The zonal approach to the temperature monitoring and to the fire suppressant material distribution allows reducing the fire suppressant material amount needed on the cargo aircraft, which, in turn, reduces the aircraft load. Furthermore, in some examples, the zonal approach eliminates unnecessary contact between the cargo (e.g., in the zones unaffected by fire) and the fire suppressant material. In some examples, this fire suppression involves depressurizing of the cargo area, in addition to or instead of the fire suppressant material distribution material.
