Power shift transmission with electric power assist
A power shift transmission includes an input shaft and a gear housing including a gear assembly disposed therein. The gear assembly is driven by the input shaft. The transmission also includes an output shaft rotated by the gear assembly. The transmission also includes an auxiliary shaft extending through a portion of the gear housing. The auxiliary shaft is rotated by an internal combustion engine. The transmission also includes a clutch assembly movable from a disengaged position to an engaged position. The clutch assembly includes a first clutch portion coupled to the input shaft and a second clutch portion coupled to the auxiliary shaft. The second clutch portion transmits rotational force to the first clutch portion only with the clutch assembly in the engaged position. The transmission also includes an electric motor including an electric motor shaft in geared relationship with the first clutch portion.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR A TWO-SPEED ACCESSORY DRIVE OF AN ENGINE
Methods and systems are provided for engaging and disengaging an electromagnetic clutch of a two-speed accessory drive of an engine of a vehicle. In one example, a method comprises, responsive to an electrical demand being higher than a threshold electrical demand, operating an electric machine of the vehicle in a motor mode to reduce a speed of a grounding gear of a planetary gear set of a two-speed accessory drive (TSAD) of the vehicle; and engaging an electromagnetic clutch responsive to the speed of the grounding gear reaching a clutch engagement threshold speed.
Two-speed accessory drive with integrated motor-generator
An accessory drive, including a planetary gear set with a plurality of components arranged to be concentrically disposed around a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine. The plurality of components includes: a sun gear; a planet carrier; a ring gear; and a planet gear meshed with the sun gear and the ring gear. A first component of the planetary gear set: is arranged to non-rotatably connect to a rotor of an electric motor/generator; and is arranged to connect to a power transfer component for least one accessory. A second component of the planetary gear set is arranged to non-rotatably connect to the crankshaft. For a starting mode of the accessory drive, the electric motor/generator is arranged to: rotate the first component of the planetary gear set; and rotate the second component of the planetary gear set with respect to the first component of the planetary gear set.
Electrified military vehicle
A military vehicle including a chassis, an engine, a motor/generator, and an energy storage system. The chassis including a passenger capsule and a rear module coupled to the passenger capsule. The passenger capsule includes a rear subframe assembly, a left rear wheel well, a right rear wheel well, and a bed. The engine is coupled to the chassis for providing mechanical power to the military vehicle and the motor/generator is coupled to the engine. The energy storage system including a battery coupled to the rear module between the left rear wheel well and the right rear wheel well, the energy storage system electrically coupled to the chassis and electrically coupled to the motor/generator. The military vehicle is operable in a silent mobility mode with the engine inactive and the energy storage system providing power to the motor/generator to operate the military vehicle.
Electrified military vehicle
A driveline including a motor/generator configured to receive power from an engine and output power to at least one of a tractive element or an accessory, an energy storage system including a battery configured to be supported by a rear module of a vehicle, the energy storage system electrically coupled to the motor/generator to selectively receive electrical power from the motor/generator and provide electrical power to the motor/generator, wherein the driveline is operable in a silent mobility mode with the energy storage system providing power to the motor/generator to operate the vehicle.
Electrified military vehicle
A driveline for a military vehicle includes an engine, an energy storage system, an accessory drive coupled to the engine, a transmission configured to couple to at least one of a front axle or a rear axle of the military vehicle, a second motor coupled to the transmission and electrically coupled to the energy storage system, and a clutch positioned between the engine and the second motor. The accessory drive includes an air compressor and a first motor. The first motor is electrically coupled to the energy storage system. The clutch is spring-biased into engagement with the engine and pneumatically disengaged by an air supply selectively provided thereto based on operation of the air compressor. The driveline is operable in a plurality of modes including an engine-only mode and an electric-only mode.
Electrified military vehicle
A front end accessory drive (FEAD) for a military vehicle. The FEAD includes a first belt, a second belt, multiple accessories, an electric motor-generator, at least one other accessory, and a sprag clutch. The accessories and the electric motor-generator are coupled with the first belt. The at least one other accessory, the first belt, and the second belt are coupled with the sprag clutch. The second belt is configured to couple with an output shaft of an engine of the military vehicle and be driven by the output shaft of the engine to drive the sprag clutch. The sprag clutch is thereby configured to drive the at least one other accessory and the first belt, and the first belt is thereby configured to drive the plurality of accessories, and the electric motor-generator.
Electrified military vehicle
An energy storage system for a military vehicle, the energy storage system including a lower support configured to be coupled to a bed of the military vehicle, a lower isolator mount coupled to the lower support, a battery coupled to the isolation mounts such that the weight of the battery is supported via the lower isolator mount and the lower support, the battery configured to be electrically coupled to a motor/generator, a bracket coupled to the battery, and an upper isolator mount coupled to the bracket and configured to couple to a rear wall of the military vehicle.
ACCESSORY ROTARY DRIVE SYSTEM AND METHOD
A drive mechanism that connects to a rotary drive component for transferring rotary motion to another component. The drive mechanism may be a conversion assembly to facilitate a connection to an existing rotary drive component and transfer the rotary motion to another component. The drive mechanism may include a drive shaft, a housing with a rotary bearing and seal, an enclosure and a drive pulley or other transfer component. The drive shaft may include a cap and flange to connect to a rotary drum and extend to a drive pulley in an enclosure.
POWER UNIT WITH SALT SPREADER AND SALT SPREADER FOR USE THEREWITH
Skid-steer type power unit engageable with an implement using an attachment assembly including an attachment frame and a hitch. An arcuate frame member is located forwardly of the attachment frame and is engaged therewith in such a way that the frame member pivots about a vertical axis located forwardly of the frame member and generally centrally positioned relative to the attachment frame. The frame member pivots in response to actuation of a hydraulic cylinder. The power unit includes a system for transferring weight of the implement rearwardly onto the power unit. A belt-drive power-take off system on the power unit powers the implement's operation.
