Finger-operated lever device to be installed on a vehicle handlebar for actuating a cable of a vehicle
A finger-operated lever device to be installed on a handlebar of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) or other applicable vehicle, for actuating a cable to cause acceleration of the internal combustion engine of the vehicle. The lever device includes a housing, an internal first lever assembly connectable to the cable, and an external second lever assembly. The external lever assembly and the internal lever assembly are connected so that user operation of the external lever assembly causes the internal lever assembly to rotate. The external lever assembly is divided into two portions, a support member and an extension member. The extension member can be adjusted at different angles to the support member, allowing the user to set the angle of the lever to most comfortably fit to his or her riding posture.
Navigational attribute driven system and method for adjusting an adjustable component of a vehicle
Systems and methods are disclosed for supporting and executing automated control of adjustable components of a vehicle based on occupant classification in a group identity database. Methods and systems for generating and employing the group identity database are also disclosed. Occupancy information may be utilized to determine how the group identity database is employed.
Vehicle operating apparatus, vehicle system and vehicle braking system
A vehicle operating apparatus including a stressed means configured to receive a force applied thereon by a driver for operating a vehicle; a connecting means configured such that a first end is mechanically connected to the stressed means and a second end is mechanically connected to a mounting surface of the vehicle; a sensor configured to sense information associated with the force applied by the driver and convert the information into an electrical signal, the vehicle is able to perform driving-related operations in response to the signal; and an actuating means configured to actuate the connecting means according to a current driving state of the vehicle so that the stressed means is maintained at a specific position.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADJUSTING A RELATIVE DISTANCE BETWEEN OF A HEEL SUPPORT PANEL AND A PEDAL OF A VEHICLE
Systems and methods are provided for a vehicle. The systems include a heel support panel configured to support a foot of a driver while the driver is interacting with a pedal of the vehicle. The heel support panel is functionally coupled to a seat adjustment system configured to move a seat of the vehicle in a forward direction towards the front of the vehicle and a rearward direction toward the rear of the vehicle. The heel support panel moves in an upward direction away from a floor panel of the vehicle and thereby reduces a dimension between the heel support panel and the pedal as the seat is moved in the forward direction, and moves in a downward direction toward the floor panel and thereby increases the dimension between the heel support panel and the pedal as the seat is moved in the rearward direction.
Stowable vehicle pedal system and method
A stowable pedal system for a motor vehicle is provided. The stowable pedal system for a motor vehicle includes a foot pedal configured to be actuated by a user in a deployed position and further actuatable to a stowed position and the deployed position, and a sensor assembly sensing a sensed position of the foot pedal. The system also includes a controller configured to process the sensed position from the sensor assembly and command a vehicle operation in the deployed position and further processing the sensed signal during a stow or deploy operation to determine a stowed or deployed status of the foot pedal and generating an output signal indicative of the stowed or deployed status.
Motor vehicle and method for the reconfiguration of a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle
A motor vehicle is described, which comprises: a passenger compartment; a plurality of driving members, which are housed inside the passenger compartment and can be operated by a driver in order to control the trajectory and the speed of the motor vehicle; at least one control member connected to one of the driving members through a drive by wire mode; the motor vehicle is selectively available in a first configuration, wherein the passenger compartment defines a first seat for a driver facing the control member and a second seat for a passenger beside the first seat along an axis; and a second configuration, wherein the passenger compartment only defines a third seat for a driver; the first seat being arranged, in the first configuration, in a first position and the third seat being arranged, in the second configuration, in a second position spaced apart from the first position along the axis; the driving member can be moved along the axis to enable the transformation of the motor vehicle between said first and second configurations.
Adjustable pedals
A golf cart includes a chassis, a floorboard coupled to the chassis, a seat positioned along the floorboard, a prime mover, a plurality of tractive elements where at least one of the plurality of tractive elements is driven by the prime mover, and a pedal assembly. The pedal assembly includes a housing coupled to the floorboard, a brake pedal coupled to the housing, and an accelerator pedal coupled to the housing. The pedal assembly is (a) laterally translatable along the floorboard and (b) at least one of pivotable or extendable towards and away from the seat.
Methods and apparatus for determining positions of a stowable pedal assembly
Methods and apparatus for determining positions of a stowable pedal assembly are disclosed. An example apparatus to determine a position of a stowable pedal assembly of a vehicle includes motor control circuitry to provide a control signal to a motor operatively coupled to the stowable pedal assembly, the motor to cause movement of the stowable pedal assembly toward a desired position, response detection circuitry to detect a current response of the motor to the control signal, and position determination circuitry to determine the position of the stowable pedal assembly based on the current response.
Pedal array with a positioning device
In a pedal array, in particular for a motor vehicle, having an actuating element for the actuation of a function by a user, and a positioning device for positioning the actuating element in a first position and a second position, the first position of the actuating element is flush with or below or slightly above a surface formed by an area surrounding the actuating element, and the second position of the actuating element is further above the surface formed by the area surrounding the actuating element than the first position.
Adjustable accelerator pedal stroke
Methods, systems, and apparatus for a regenerative braking and powertrain pedal system. The powertrain system includes an electric motor that is configured to generate regenerative energy and provide a regenerative braking torque. The powertrain system includes an electronic control unit coupled to the electric motor. The electronic control unit is configured to cause an accelerator pedal to rotate about its pivot point to increase a total available stroke in response to an energy recovery mode being activated. The electronic control unit is configured to control an amount of the regenerative braking torque to be applied using an accelerator pedal position. The electronic control unit is configured to cause the accelerator pedal to rotate about its pivot point to decrease the total available stroke in response to the energy recovery mode being deactivated.
